but only just
(do like it though)
Thanks for your time.
and having to wait a minute before each one.
Seriously these things are a nightmare to instigate Balonz.
Not just stick a vague Americanisation in the opening post and hope for the best.
(Please DO NOT specify)
used to be able to churn this shit out in 30 seconds.
you get about two in and some prick (usually balonz) fucks it up.
who's watched all three the whole way through and thinks breaking bad is better than either the wire or the sopranos
Let's call the whole thread off.
where IS guntrip these days?
But pretty confident The Wire is better.
it's just nowhere near the level of the other 2
Considering The Sopranos was about a mafia it didn't half have some tedious storylines. Remember towards the end the disagreements over that plot of land or whatever it was, dull as fuck
the old one right?
gimme the old one any day
I haven't seen the old one though
naked in the eyes of God
but no cigar
(not watched The Wire or Sopranos though)
is automatically banned from being the BEST SHOW EVER.
I've enjoyed most = Friday Night Lights by a mile
Larry Sanders in the runners up spot.
as it's not finished yet. Don't fuck it up, Weiner!
(not the best, obvs, but deserves more mention in threads like these)
Walter Goggins is awesome
(Isla Fisher lesbian experimentation period)
Crb yr enthssm
haven't seen it for years and years and then saw a little the other night... ouch.
I saw it the other night (admittedly a little drunk) and found it hilarious.
which I haven't seen for years (but fewer years). Ali G still made me laugh in some of the interviews (even though the editing is more obvious in this day and age) but Jackass did not.
The Office: An American Workplace
does that count?
Did it depict the slow destruction of it's central characters? Leaving you rooting for them despite the crushing inevitability of it all?
as much as i love them, i think it's definitely not a comedy, and especially not a "dramady"
something really serious
i was thinking more along the lines of something that deals with crime - especially murder, death and loss, depression, little bit of gambling, grown men being reduced to tears... so probably the wire or the sopranos or whatever came before them
it's not bleak enough because of the glasses thing
CSI: Miami: Nights.
A darker version where Horatio has been blinded by a crime-doer, rendering his trademark sunglasses move utterly powerless.
Seriously, ome of the best tv ive seen
one of the best? naaaah
i found myself very moved seeing people having to cope with so much loss.
Its not any easy watch by any means, ep3 was one of the best episodes ive seen from a tv show.
Plus the music running through it was outstanding!
can't get away with being so shit for the last 15 or so years and still be the best tv programme ever. no chance
no one gives a shit past season 9 and just ignores its existence because between seasons 3 and 8 it is the greatest show of all time and all anyone will ever seriously consider.
If you like I'll append it to: The Simpsons (seasons 1-9)
the amount of utter shite the Simpsons has put out unfortunately is more than how much great it's put out.
but those 9 great seasons are culturally way more important than anything else the show will ever do and deserve to be recognised as the greatest show of all time as such, the fact that it is has 9 great seasons is unheralded tbh
this is the best programme ever? really? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjPsoyzzY38
when the best is as good as it is and literally no one watches anything that's happened since?
is the point I'm making, no one in their right mind compares it to the original, real, show and if they do it's only out of ignorance usually to do with age. There is a distinction to be made between The Simpsons as we knew it, to "Principal and the Pauper" which basically saw the last remaining original staff members leave
beyond the first episode of each. Or rather, half way through the first episode.
So the correct answer is GOSSIP GIRL.
has got to be a contender.
but prob the best episode of anything i've ever seen is episode four of true detective
MAKE OF THAT WHAT YOU WILL
is up there with TD Ep 4.
season 1 is up there
it's probably sex and the city
