Any news on the job front?
-Third and final interview yesterday for a publication
- Interview today at 12pm
-Interview at 4pm
-Interview tomorrow at 4:30pm
-Interview Friday at 2pm
Think I've gone a bit overboard? Also, moving out of Soho on Friday. Haven't packed. Or booked a space to store my things in.
How are you?
Got a few days off work so chilled out.
All the luck in the world with those interviews.
If you need anything that I can possibly help with, let me know x
tonight I'm having cheese and port. mmm.
I love a bit of port. And a bit of cheese. Good shout.
Not fussed about port, but I blummin' love cheese.
I saw some photos of you but they are all of your back.
Not a fan of sherry either - I'm happy with a nice red wine with my cheese.
I have a date tonight. Bit nervous.
I think I've used a few too many exclamation marks in my messages so far. She seems far to cool for that.
in emails / texts. He now sounds really moody when I hear from him.
Ergo, you've set your tone and you can't dial down the exclamation marks, else she'll think you've gone off her.
I'm not THAT bad. Though I do sometimes unnecessarily capitalise letters. Will be hard to replicate that in real life, mind.
Might be playing up my insecurities wearing it, though.
for the love of god.
But it would.
There's a real good chance that I'm not going to to any work today.
My footie team spanked St Mirren 5:0 last night!
Todays overall good feeling = 8/10
and made up for my abject fury at the villa v qpr not being shown on telly. Also lovely to see some sunshine over my beloved fir park!
Went to bed early last night. Got to hang out with one of my best mates for a few hours before that though. Talking about everything under the sun.
Looking forward to this evening. Two of my housemates are away and the others are busy so I'll have the house to myself. Books and LPs at the ready.
Anything Irish-related I can help you with?
He bought me a Cladach engagement ring. I said no.
I do think those Claddagh rings are bloody horrible though. Twee shit.
Where in Ireland are you? I miss it. Miss the people.
I live in Cork City and I'm originally from Co. Tipperary. I love this place, couldn't imagine leaving it.
Loads of places to play and be paid here.
been away for a bit, what did I miss? Help me waste my first day back at work plz.
I don't think you have missed much really...but then I haven't been on here much eithe.r
My suggestion? Eat. Eat a massive breakfast and have a snooze in the toilets.
Been to the Spoons yet?
As I couldn't get a bed delivered before then. First commute went well this morning though! Going to Ikea on Saturday so I can properly deck the room out, pretty excited. Will 100% be going to the Spoons within the next 7 days.
I feel so bad and nervous about it though! I never call in sick but I'm genuinely ill but only in my 4th week of my new job. It doesn't look good, does it?!
you should be fine - most employers will only start to get shirty if you have lots of separate instances of sick leave.
I just don't want to give a bad impression or for them to think I'm faking it. I could hardly stand up in the shower on my own yesterday I was so weak :(
until they start to take the piss.
A long day lying round in bed feeling pooey for you was just another, quickly-forgotten day in the office for them.
....not sure if this has anything to do with your sickness but could it be dehydration from the hot yoga you are doing?
and i slept in. and i am hungry. fuck this.
My armpits feel like they haven't been deodorised. Maybe they haven't. Nightmare.
Popping down to the nerd shop after work to get some new cards, though, so if anything it'll just help me fit in better.
Good experience, nice people. Not in a rush to play Eclipse again, though - it's got all these beautiful systems and scope for strategy, then it's all resolved by chucking small handfuls of dice. Way too swingy for my tastes.
Still had a good time being space moss, though.
Fucking STUPID brain. Urgh.
like a library or somewhere
I could feel it coming on yesterday so I went for a run to try and preempt it, but still feeling proper nervy today.
red/black bogies keep raining down on my notepad this morning.
I was second-knuckling it till bedtime
Back to work today. Really didn't need Thursday and Tuesday off, much rather have had them added to my annual leave to take when I actually had something to do.
Going to see Courtney Barnett with friends and my offspring this evening.
Day 2 of my new antidepressants, looking forward to some exciting sexually-inhibiting side effects.
She was really, really good. FYI: her drummer's name is Dave.
Especially the Dave bit.
their 30minute lunch and half 4 finish for my hour lunch and 5 finish. yes yes yes. my GF's off work today so will be running to catch the last of the evening sun in a kelham island beer garden after work
a Kelham Island beer garden.
who had experienced one on a nice day and not enjoyed it
I'm going to IKEA today.
Had an awful time playing football last night which has helped confirm I'm giving up playing in the league for a bit.
Playing for real fun tonight though.
Good luck with interviews and dates and feeling better today, kids x
Why did you have an awful time playing football?
I pulled me hamstring last night. It hurts.
We've played them before and they are awful - nasty challenges partnered with rolling around on the ground screaming if anyone gets close to tackling them, all accompanied by a stream of homophobic/ anti-disability/ anti-social insults.
It got quite aggressive towards the end and the referee saw none of it (which surprised no one because they were an aggressive group of twenty-year olds rather than a nicer group of mid to late thirties.)
I'm just a bit bored of getting sworn at by chavs on a weekly basis and we don't win enough games to have any kind of athletic superiority.
I have booked my honeymoon this morning though.
Concrete jungle where dreams are made oh!
Met my nephew last night, great guy, look forward to getting to know him better. 9lbs 10oz! Considering my sister is 4'10" no wonder she looked exhausted! Damn.
Really busy with work, but what with new baby, Anfield trip, having my raise confirmed and as of 4pm being off until next Tuesday so it's really hard to care right now. Too happy and distracted.
Well done your sister. My sis is also tiny and had a whopping huge baby, but she came out the sun roof.
Congratulations on your lovely big nephew!
they left it overnight and not much more had happened, so at 6:30 am, he also came out the sunroof. Can't imagine how bloody horrible that 24 hours were.
Thanks! He's a good one:
went into established labour on Saturday, was still only 3cm dilated by Monday evening despite them using whatever quackery they do to speed it up, and ended up with a crash C yesterday afternoon. Poor lassie, in labour for 5 days. She's another five foot, 8 stone girl. I swear, we're not built for pushing them out.
my friend could have had a section on sunday but said no for a variety of reasons. TAKE THE SECTION GODDAMIT.)
but there comes a point when surely it's the best option for all involved.
I couldn't begin to imagine being my size and squeezing out a baby, let alone over a foot smaller!
Then she put a brutally heartfelt post on Facebook this morning. Bit preoccupied thinking about them. I've told him to call me if he wants a chat (he lives hundreds of miles away). That's about all I can do, right?
Do you know the reason why? You can't really do much, just be yhere for them oth really.
I stayed with them a few weeks ago and all seemed well, maybe he was being a bit formal? Hard to say though, who knows what's happening behind the scenes.
might help him to be away from it all while he sorts his head out
when i split with the fiance my pals in london insisted i go down, it did me the world of good to get the fuck out of dodge and away from her for a while. perspective and all that.
that werern't nightmares or terrors as such, but were so ludicrousy camp and bizarre, that they have spooked me. they were lucid as well. Sorry, I know talking about dreams is so boring, but I feel quite haunted by it today.
ANYWAY, finished off unbreakable kimmy last night, I wonder if that was what did it.
My dreams are WIRDEST when I have a lot of stress going on.
Not sure what to think of Unbreakable Kimmy, I kind of love it but hate it at the same time.
work's pretty much under control at the moment. I need to get to yoga this week, I've not done v much exercise because of the holidays, that's probably it :)
I feel exactly that way about Kimmy, but decided to go with it and not analyse too much. It's all really quite silly. no idea where they're going to go with it for season 2 though...
of people and their feelings about Kimmy Schmidt vs that new Vic and Bob one. Insofar as I loved the first but the second left me utterly cold, and clearly there are people (Royter) who feel exactly opposite...
It really irritates me because she's always so happy, but I guess that's the point.
I've just started watching America Horror Story season 1 on Netflix, that's pretty good.
is possibly the worst singer in the history of music.
Some good pop tunes though.
met them once didn't know who they who until someone told me, Not a fan.
Off to Vegas on sat so have lots to sort out before then even though i'm kinda slipping into holiday mode, even though it's not a holiday, it's for work.
Are you an Elvis impersonator with a marriage license?
in the canals outside the Venetian hotel on The Strip.
finally got my hair done pretty sure it's cut lower than I meant to go but I guess it's good for the warm weather
Finally watched that Louis Theroux documentary, pretty much all those kids have amazing parents. Planning on watching the new Noah Baumbach film tonight there's about a 50/50 chance I'll fall asleep in the cinema because it's a 9:00 PM viewing
Last night's show in Camden was surprisingly good, felt great to right the wrongs of Sunday. Even had a couple beers because I felt comfortable with it again.
Gonna go see either While We're Young or Blade Runner tonight probably the former as it's dead cheap at Genesis and the other at the weekend.
Managed an entire day without contacting the girl to find a nice text from her when I woke up this morning.
So all in all, things looking up.
Pint next week sometime?
anything happening I should know about or just make a date?
Thursday work for you? See if we can tempt Howlett down south? Just been asked to go 'supervise' a work event 22miles away from my flat on Wednesday night :(
at modern life is war this thursday but next week should be cool
didn't get popular until the early 70s and barely anybody did it before then. That's surely got to be absolute cobblers? I bet loads of people got coked up and gobbled and flicked in the 60s. Especially before contraception became popular. Wasn't Tipping the Velvet a Victorian story?
You only have to look at some Renaissance art to know cock/vagina sucking/ has been going on for a long time...way before then too!
walking around in high heels all day...walked to Marylebone, Baker Street, back down towards St Martin's...Soho. Oh god I'm tired.
