No made up stuff please - just things you need every day advice on. I'm here for you DiS
I seem to be getting a lot of corns on my feet, stickers.
Any, you know, advice?
Tight fitting shoes cause friction.
Loose fitting shoes cause rubbing.
Stop wearing fashion shoes and go to clarks.
Should I spend money on:
A) A vacuum cleaner
B) A holiday
C) A new fence
D) A laptop
It's not til June but I now have a big thing to look forward to.
Without it I fear the forthcoming months would be unbearable.
Or Alarielle, Incarnate of Life?
Always the latter.
This is great advice! Many thanks!
Or my Law Dogs Legendary Holster deck to the big tournament this weekend? I can't make my mind up.
Frankly, I'm starting to doubt your credentials stickboy.
i'm thinking of quitting my job and dropped £8k on a training course to turn me into a computer wizz
i've tried becoming a computer wizz for free but i lose motivation, even though i feel i'm fairly naturally good at the computer wizz core skills
the £8k is what i've saved for a deposit to buy a house, but in my current job, well paid for what it is, there is no scope for promotion and the salary isnt enough to afford a mortgage in london. also the skills i have in my current job are very specific and i dont learn shit
I am failing to find the question you would like answering.
Will the 8K investment guarantee a new job? Really (I dont know you're age) assuming you may be around 30... we still have a good 30 plus years to work so doing it now IS a good idea.
8K is NOT going to go far on a house deposit so yes do it.
Stop thinking and start doing.
What is the course for £8k? Pricked up my ears a bit there as slightly worrisome.
Ok so I am a border line alcoholic with a dodgy arse but I really do know a lot about this stuff.
v reputable and credible, and they have a very high rate of placements in jobs at the end of the course
The curriculum is making all the right noises for the start-up market which is good. The ThoughtWorks seal of approval is also encouraging and having worked with them would be a nice environment in which to be placed.
Slightly concerned about the scope of the curriculum given the 12 week schedule. That is a LOT of ground to cover but I guess it is aiming to form a basis rather than the finished article. Price wise it seems fair given the amount of teaching time and the earning potential of the staff if they were to go fully into industry.
So... carry on, good luck and gees a shout when you're done ;-)
In fact you just but a really stupid question that doesn't have an answer.
What do you want from life?
I ordered some shelves back in February. The website said delivery normally takes 15 days. After it had been 30 days, I got in touch and asked where they were. They explained that they were being made to order and they'd be in touch when they were ready.
It's now been 42 days, should I kick off? Is there a shelving equivalent of spitting in my food?
Yes you should chase this up. I often find that politeness wins so long as you aren't being a pushover.
Ask them to tell you exactly when they will be ready and let them know that if they aren't then you will require a refund.
I'd also make it clear that you have contacted them previously and feel like you have been fobbed off.
If you truly want a sweet then id go wham bar if you can track one down.
If it's chocolate then get a boost.... don't start with all the nonsense about it being inferior to others.... buy one .... dip it in coffee and really enjoy.
that it was time sensitive. Thanks for the advice
Thank you though
and yet all I've thought about for the last week is my growing excitement at the imminent release of a videogame.
My question is this:
do I need to worry about myself?
Gaming has been proven to reduce stress and depression.
As long as you do what you need to at work and put enough time and love into your family then you will prosper.
Be strong my gaming friend.
and want to go away for a few days on the cheap like.
A) Go to Berlin. Been before but have been meaning to go back.
B) Go to this (Amsterdam) http://www.muziekgebouw.nl/festival/onlineradio/
I will start with Amsterdam. I went there in January. It is a great city. I have previously been in the spring and it is a glorious time of year to visit. I also work in radio so the idea of that nerd fest really doesn't interest me. Pro's and con's.
I have never been to Berlin but you obviously have so maybe take this opportunity to see Amsterdam whilst there is something specific on.
In short. Amsterdam is the advice here.
