Got a call with someone called Gregory in a bit. Should I call him Greg? He must be a Greg, right?
Are you meeting my dad???
it's always nice to ask.
I mean if you lot started calling me pniks or nikkers or some other shit, I'd go fucking crazy.
I'm phoning your old man to talk about global warming and bread-stockpiling.
'Hi Greg, can I call you Greg? Great' before he has any chance to correct you and he'll have to stick with it.
Go with the full name. No one would take offence at being called by their full name.
chant. Until, he says "it's ok, just call me Greg".
Seems disrespectful otherwise.
Although he might want it abbreviated to Than. It's a minefield alright.
`Ste` for `Stephen/Steven`. Usually a Northern phenomenon.
Hate it. Hate it hate it.
Just the worst.
why use a much shitter one?
Because the alternative is "Sim" (pronounced "Sime" [probably]).
might start bringing that in
NEVER go straight in with the shortened name and assume they want that. #victimofunsolicitednamechanging #prayforme
'err, it's actually Pervert, thank you very much'
If he uses Greg then he'd probably use that to introduce himself, no?
I always use the abbreviated version of my name, work or otherwise.
call him gregor
