which was just girls, but it was bought by St George's years ago after going bankrupt and all rolled into one school on two sites, with the old St Maur's site becoming the primary school. That was also the point at which it went from being two single sex schools into one mixed sex school. Luckily, it happened just as I was leaving.

how does a school explode?
when I went home at lunchtime. BBC news reporter guy was saying it's a building site near the school that went up, but the school was ok and all pupils evacuated and accounted for. phew. Hope the builders are ok too obvs.

so we didn't get much more than a week off. but that morning - where one of the hard kids literally skipped up to us on the way in to tell us the news - was truly a joyous time =D
It was brilliant. The "football pitch" for break time was suddenly six times wider than it was long.
