Another Friday, another new film release. Anyone planning to see this? Some amazing reviews.
So good. Some of it was properly shit scary.
There was a Q&A afterwards with David Robert Mitchell and Maika Monroe (who is absolutely stunning IRL).
Go and see it! Great fun.
Wanted to watch White God instead but poxy Cineworld aren't showing it.
Would watching this with a parent be a recipe for awkwardness? My dad wants me to go see this with him but the sex stuff leaves me wondering if am likely to be left squirming in my seat.
And what there is isn't particularly graphic, assuming you and your dad aren't puritans you'll be fine, top film btw
Not sure about the really gushing five star reviews but it's an impressive thriller when all is said and done. Does a good job of showing a lot of the desolation in Detroit too.
really liked it - was quite on edge in places - the bit on the beach when they've got the gun D:
Soundtrack was great as well. Top stuff.
The sound design is superb.
Will watch again.
It's incredible, exceeded my very high expectations for it. I'm going back again tomorrow on account of the most heinous cinema audience it has been my misfortune to sit amongst trying their level best to ruin it.
From now on, I'm only going to the cinema at awkward times on weekdays. Weekends at the cinema are now solely the preserve of shitheads.
I hated the soundtrack though.
very tense and creepy, great sound editing and use of the 360 panoramic
I found it quite slow-paced at the time, really creepy and the jump scares never quite came when you expect them to.I've found myself thinking about it a LOT. I really like it.
Also the soundtrack is just.so.good. have been listening to it in spotify quite a bit, despite how unsettling it is.
yeah I really liked this
film of the year so far maybe??
i dont know how to explain it but it seemed both a throwback and extremely modern at the same time. you felt like you were there with them as well rather than just na observer
means you get a full scope of the world these kids inhabit
horror/thriller where the hype and mainstream reviews are worth the hype. I'll echo TheKennedyCurse with the throwback element as well it being modern. The soundtrack was a rip off John Carpenter style soundtrack and all the better for it. I was expecting a "Babadook" from this film where despite so many great reviews I thought it would basically be an average horror film; no more no less. But it's great.
Original and really well made 9/10.
