Alright not you.
This thread is now about shit modern art. Or just modern art, then.
...you want to hang out?
not sure if its art, but its good to look at
Imagine washing it off though! Eurgh.
Also, fuzzy_dunlop to thread.
also, in the pics where you can see it running over their faces, i genuinely got quite stressed out thinking about trying to breathe through honey
What was the last bit of non-shit art iyho?
Anything after, including Jackson Pollock: worse that the apocalypse, no merit, go to hell.
I'm just genuinely interested in what people who claim to hate all modern art think is actually good art.
I personally like a ton of pre-1800 stuff for the most part but also go for (relatively) old-modern stuff like Monet, Kandinsky, Klimt etc.
I think when people say modern art is shit they mean An Oak Tree (a particular hate of mine) and works of that ilk, where pretension levels are mega high. I can't imagine they actually mean Pollock etc and only love, say, pre-Raphelite works or something.
God that is such a boring post
but i know what i mean
They barred it from being displayed in the Australian National Gallery because they deemed it to be vegetation.
see it's that sort of shit.
Just feels like trust-fund bants
It's a deliberate parody of the concept of transubstantiation by a Catholic artist. Transubstantiation being something that hundreds of millions of people worldwide are meant to believe is literally true and happening to them every single Sunday. You could certinly argue Father Ted did a better job of it, but it's not a bad bit of satire on that basis imho.
I just... I don't know. Like I can imagine the person that LOL's at that in the Tate Modern already.
like, do you mean anything that can be classified as modernist art (excluding postmodernist art)? or anything from a certain era, etc.
(i tend to agree but i am aware of my own obnoxiousness in doing so)
In my experience, people dismissing all "modern art" tend to use it as a lazy way of meaning either all contemporary art and/or all conceptual art.
it's ok. bit of a waste though. Is there something cheaper/less delicious they could have used? engine oil maybe?
can't believe they put it on a baby and a dog
Have a good one guys
