About time they stepped into line.
it makes them sound really disorganised. Like the pilots are still trying to get their clothes on when they're climbing into the plane, and they've got weetabix crumbs all down them.
If Russia really want to do some serious willy waving perhaps they should try some places people care about.
nah tories own a lot of property in cornwall and its where david likes to holiday. I think they're trying to get him where it hurts
They weren't 'over' anything other than international waters, and these sort of shenanigans have been going on for nigh-on 60 years (with a break for tea when Yeltsin was doing his thing).
but I seem to remember hearing somewhere that technically Berwick upon Tweed was at war with Russia until the 1950s due to some technicality with it being listed separately in a declaration of war (Crimean War, perhaps?) but missed out of the subsequent peace treaty.
Apparently when this was pointed out by some local historian, the Mayor of Berwick upon Tweed invited the Russian Ambassador up there to sign a peace treaty (which the ambassador rather sportingly agreed to).
this was a regular occurence.
We had 'the english electric lightning' a fantastic interceptor, which could climb faster than any other fighter
that is of course Brian cox going up in one, and so if you want to avoid that
look at this....from 4:30 on is great.....jut seeing 3 of them suddenly go up like rockets
maximum rate of climb being 50000ft per minute
they go UP
Would have been quite a sight seeing them doing that from there
you don't have to worry too much.
The Typhoon or Eurofighter is probably the fastest climbing proper plane now and does exceed the lightnings climb rate.
Its also rather a great dogfighter (despite the tricks of su 27/35 and raptors)
were, desperately chased for, to gain sales and they sold em to everywhere, and then people found they kept crashing...because they're not a proper plane (they also could not climb to interept height as fast as lightnings could...lightnings had a specific purpose....to climb quickly to get up to the soviet bombers in a very short space of time.....before the bombs would be over the uk mainland......the starfighters, were for selling (like macdonalds)
But achieved massive export sales due to Lockheed bribing all and sundry. 'Murica!
