i need to do some prep for a progress assessment meeting thing tomorrow for my project. so i'll probably go to the library and do that in a bit.
at the moment: nm
in general: i bought a shirt earlier
Just back from the dentist getting the first of four one hour visits to try to save this tooth. have to go half an hour early next time to get sedated cause I was shaking so much. It's my housemates birthday today but I'm so exhausted from all the anxiety. Bought some house plants to cheer myself up and I'm gonna read some short stories later and do fun non work things.
Apart from all the things that have gone wrong. (I know there's a few)
Really enjoying living here. Not had as much time to explore as I had wanted and been struggling with work/life but I'm getting settled.
There are so many amazing buildings and museums, I can't wait to go back there.
I loved the Cinquantenaire! All the parrots! The sunken road and the air museum are cool too. The military museum, not so much...
Having such a tough time with everything right now. One of my colleagues took me out for coffee cause she was worried about me though which warmed my heart a bit :)
had a sore throat for days. Then I realised that what it is is a massive ulcer at the very back of the roof of my mouth, which is making everything uncomfortable. I get loads of ulcers, but never had one there before. What a prick, eh?
Been in hospital for two days. Getting a new cast on tomorrow, but can't decide what colour to get.
(I'd get purple if it's available)
get well soon, s_h
just reading my uni email account and there's a hilarious one about the guu having a 'diversity week'. highlights include a flag quiz; The Big Debate: "This House believes that Multiculturalism has failed in central Europe"; and "The Kitchen will be serving a selection of International paninis throughout the week." DIVERSITY!
rogan josh and lasagne
rogan josh and lasagne
rogan josh and lasagne
Id eat a lamb rogan josh lasagne without a second thought
it's just really funny that this is the best the guu (glasgow uni's terrible sexist union) could come up with for 'diversity'
I'm going to make one. Maybe not tonight, but one day...
why, just last week I had a lasagne"
(no idea how else to explain it) and it's starting to ache a bit and i've just started getting dizzy spells and i'm scared i'm doing some sort of serious damage to my back but it's like a compulsion. honestly i'd take most real actual diseases in exchange for all my ridiculous psychosomatic bullshit
just the treatable ones that aren't too horrible. i'd definitely take a bout of tonsilitis.
obviously it's making my back really sore and it's clicking like a right bad bastard. Genuinely think there hasnt been a chair/bed inventred yet that's comfy to sit on for hours at a time, massive oversight really
sit on chairs people
Pretty sure it was something so unsexy as just gas, and it was mostly fine when I eventually woke up this afternoon so probably just farted a lot in my sleep eh.
I've only left the house for like 15 minutes today because I had a £2 voucher for Sainsburys which had to be used by today so I did a bit of shopping. I've watched a few episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. which I'm quite enjoying. Might go back to that in a minute or I might do some reading. HMMMM.
what did you buy in sainsburys? :)
Beans, chickpeas, carrots, pears, frozen peas, tomato sauce, vegetable stock aaaaand a chocolate. Pretty sure that's it. Oh and a pot noodle.
as I'm now eating a "risotto" with hardly any rice in it. Lots of other lovely stuff though so doesn't really matter.
making this http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2014/02/ultimate-fully-loaded-vegan-nachos-recipe-food-lab-vegan-experience.html
I love black beans I often make a black bean and sweet potato jerk curry, it's so good.
I love Kenji. It means you feel like you can justifiably spend the whole day cooking. Results.
I'll have to look up a load of stuff. I love cooking.
how does a baked cheesecake differ from a normal fridge found one? Apart from the method of cooking obvs, I mean taste wise.
its more in the texture... cos obviously you can get similar flavoured cheesecakes.. with your fruits/chocolate/vanilla n that.. your fridge kind dont have eggs in them.. amongst other things
So firmer and more emphasis on the cake aspect - I get it.
Fears alleviated I'll venture into these baked new worlds at some point, cheers
Its not terrys, ir barleysugars - its mine
he isn't *that* fat
And they fucked up an order so I got a free hot smoked salmon starter dish whilst I was drinking my wine. Tasty as fuck. I'm winning tonight! :)
My favorite was whole nut choc with banana. Hope you're feeling alright still_h watch them tonsils.
Also watching the football.
Showed my housemates my old passport photo and they recoiled in horror. To be fair, I do look awful in it.
i've done too much walking today and done myself damage and my physio is gonna be so disappointed in me and i am going to be so sore tomorrow
in other news i got a new quilt cover set for £8 and it's nice
drinking a couple of New Worlds.
Anyone still listen to it?

otherwise looking really sharp actually :)
Yeah I'll probably be tinkering with the text for years.
And hi dis bro :)
this week's been good so far (took it off work, partly cause for my terrifying upcoming driving test), listening to music, watching films, walking, etc. Done the odd bit of making stuff, too.
I went to see Josie Long's latest stand-up show in Birmingham on the Sunday as well, which was brilliant.
feel like I'm in the right mood to give that a second watch, as tends to be the way with PT.
Woke up from a dream that one was nibbling my foot and can hear it now under my bed D:
Also there was a dropping in my bed... Omg. This is not what I need right now. So tired after yesterday.
Just seen a status off my poor housemate about how nobody wished her a happy birthday. She asked if I wanted to go for a drink but I was too ill. Don't know what to do cause I probably won't sleep tonight. Can't call in sick.
I do stupid stuff to take my mind off anxiety
turned on the lights and surveyed the room looking for hiding places. Found none. Suspected it may have made its way into the mattress under my bed as it would be ideal. Have given my bed a good kicking to make sure they're not in it somehow. Emptied all my shoes etc. seems most likely they're under the floorboards nesting somewhere. Have lit a few candles to make sure I can see if I wake up in a confused panic. Also reassuring myself that mice are generally not dangerous. Can anyone confirm that there are no deadly diseases that I could get from a mouse nibbling my toes?
never heard of mice nibbling on people or hiding in mattresses. they piss off pretty sharpish as soon as someone is up and about.
you could get one of those things that emits a high pitched noise to keep them away but they don't work very well honestly. probably kick up a fuss to your landlord or move somewhere else :/
they're annoying and they give you unreasonable amounts of anxiety if you can hear them while you sleep but they're really tiny and harmless, and quite sweet when not invading your room.
Despite being super anxious generally and a bit scared of them, I don't have any real problem with them living under the floorboards. Would prefer if they stopped doing poos in my bed/on me. But tbh I'd love them if they were my pets so I'm just gonna pretend I've got pet mice who I let roam around.
Any diseases are most likely to be spread by a mouse contaminating your food (via droppings, urine) either directly or indirectly from you not washing your hands after contact.
one of Philip Glass' operas. quite hypnotic, though I'm not sure I could handle the full 5 hours. least not in one sitting
wasn't sure whether I liked the dancing and... some of the singing come to think of it, at some points, but overall thought it was quite compelling or something? did you make it through the whole thing?
the real thing would probably be a bit much
