Why do you all hate Redknapp so much? Like, more than most people? I can't really remember anything about his tenure there, but he seems to hold a special place in all your hearts and I'd like a lengthy post explaining why.
that he and Terry Brown (chairman of the time) made a lot of money personally from the deals that sold off all the talent we had at that time, talent that should have set us up for a decade of success, but instead led to a total collapse and relegation.
Plus he's just a terrible human being.
and not in an overloaded mercenary qpr way
di canio, carrick, defoe, j cole, david james maybe? maybe even glen johnson too
But managed by the Roedent, which balanced the whole thing out.
Absolutely pitiful. Real waste of the talent we had in front of them.
for large chunks of the season. So we played a 19-year-old Jermain Defoe as a lone target man for much of it (what could go wrong there?).
Was the first transfer window season too. Still should never have got relegated, but a classic West Ham clusterfuck of a season to be sure.
To this day, Billy Bonds still says he fucked him over and won't forgive him.
Gonna go out on a limb and say most rather knowing football fans probably dislike him, but fans of clubs he's managed, who have witnessed his antics first-hand, can't stand the bloke. Over the years he's just proved himself to be a nasty, selfish prick, hasn't he?
He's clearly got something about him as a manager (motivator, maybe?) but as a coach and tactician he is laughably bad. "You can't coach players to be good" and telling Joe Cole to "go and play like Zola" a couple of insights into his wisdom. Even when we had a decent team at West Ham under his management we routinely got properly smashed away from home, sometimes against some pretty average teams. Just has no idea how to set teams up properly.
He has spent large chunks of his career signing shit players who happen to be represented by his agent mates, which completely fucked us up during a period when we were fortunate to have some really good players coming through our youth system. When we sold Rio Ferdinand to Leeds he used all of the proceeds (expect for his cut) on Titi Camara, Rigobert Song, Christian Dailly and Raggy Soma. Only Christian Dailly turned out to be of the world class standard we felt entitled to. Every club he's managed except Spurs (who happen to have a very hands-on, controlling chairman) have had severe financial problems in the wake of his departure.
Never takes responsibility for his own failings and will hang players out to dry to save face. I remember when we lost at home to Spurs in the FA Cup and blamed a young, inexperienced Joe Cole for not marking Sergei Rebrov. Nothing to do with West Ham but I remember a post-match radio interview when he was Spurs manager where he had played 2 up front and actually blamed the Spurs fans for calling for him to do so. He basically claimed he'd thrown the game to prove they were wrong!
Can Rooney, Kane, Sturridge and Sterling all fit in the same team? Im having horrible flashbacks to the Gerrard Lampard era.
Qualifier at home to Lithuania, and then a friendly away to Italy.
whoever our best defence is now
great formation that if you've got a half decent team on FM
put Milner in there for starters
not for me clive.
- - - - - - Hart - - - - - -
Jenks Chambers Cahill Gibbs
Walcott Wilshere Ox-Cham Downing

Boot out Kane, put in Charlie Austin.
Roy Van Hodgson
Arsene kidnapped them ages ago surely
Capello tried to get Arteta into the England team
probably finish 11th or something
in the FA Cup against Bristol City when he was "injured" and therefore not playing for Senegal in the AFCON. Cue 5 years of tedious litigation and whoever Bristol City's no.1 celeb fan is marching through Westminster a la Sean Bean and Tevezgate no doubt.
Quite impressed with the dodginess of West Ham's defence though: Sakho wasn't deemed unfit to play in the tournament at all, just to fly to it, so the club stuck him in a limo down to Bristol while everyone else flew. #BOOM
You usually won't go to far wrong assuming if there's some dodginess then it's West Ham's fault, but for once it seems like that's not the case.
He was clearly injured otherwise it wouldn't make any sense to make him sit out 3 or 4 games as part of a ruse to get him back a couple of days earlier than he would have had he gone to ACON.
But FIFA rules state that if you pull out of an international tournament with an injury, you can't play at all for your club while your country is still in contention no matter how quick or slow your recovery.
Hence West Ham's argument being that he didn't pull out with an injury, he was just unfit to travel to the tournament instead.
by leaving him out of the Liverpool squad the following game.
until I read that we won £90,000 in prize money for beating Bristol City. So we've brazenly flouted the rules, flipped THE MAN the bird and we're still in profit.*
*until we get sued for emotional damage by every citizen of Senegal.
No way Bristol City won't sue given Sheffield Utd got £25m when they did so.
And then invested it wisely and have enjoyed great success back in the Premier League ever since.
It was just a precaution against FIFA being the erratic bellends that everyone knows they can be.
Still think they've done nothing wrong. Player gets injured (ironically, a flare up of an injury caused by Senegal's medical team in the first place), player isn't selected by Senegal and player isn't played by West Ham. Player regains fitness and plays 30 mins off the bench 24 hours before Senegal's final game of the tournament.
FIFA Punks Fuck Off
about right and wrong than FIFA, eh?!
I *might* watch.
And they're playing a centre back up front instead of him.
Just need him to sit down on the turf with a phantom injury like the biggest toddler in the world to complete the Yaya hat-trick.
...with looking like a thumb in a suit.
in tribute to Harry Triffic and his achy knees :'(
Just cleared a cross by controlling it on his chest and half-volleying it away..
phil neville has learnt how to put intonation in his voice. it's a bit weird, just sounds like he's amazed by everything thats happening
right before kick off.
It's a little bit Philomena Cunk..
that claims 15% of people in the UK now support Man City.
I wonder how long it'll take DOTS to log into his latest alt-account to comment...
can't even want him at arsenal, cos y'know he beats up women.
he's really really good tho
somewhere in the world of football? why are they obsessed with using ex-players for punditry and commentary? they're footballers ffs. think how much better those things would be if they didn't insist on using footballers.
Probably the only co-commentator or pundit i could name who i'm certain isn't a clueless, boring cunt.
totally bizarre how shit they are this season
United are going to win this thing by default aren't they!
I might bung a fiver on them losing to Bradford in the Final.
need arsenal and united to be kept apart else the final's going to be tosh
If Arsenal or Man Utd made the final either has ample potential to mess it up.
what about stevie g's birthday parting entitlement you pasty munching bastards
the lad has had a fairly decent career shame he's never won anything ever
he wanted to get sent off
I can ascertain that he cut inside and curled it in with his right foot.
(on a human face, forever)
Brentdan's face looks superimposed onto his head
Already talking the footballer talk like he's been doing inane interviews for years. BORING.
"Nah, I didn't see it."
I wonder what that means?
A last four/eight made up exclusively of non top-six clubs would be fucking dreadful.
Just get Villa and Stoke out of the competition and it's all good.
it's like they're human or sumfink
imagine a player walking out onto the pitch at the start of a match holding a novel up infront of their face and reading it, totally engrossed
saved in the 95th minute lost me £11 on a bet. Anderlecht who won 2-0 won me £15. I'm a happy slightly drunk man currently.
hope that he gets the help he needs.
