thats what i thought
The Clyde tunnel is grey. Cos it's a tunnel.
Or perhaps it hasn't been adopted? Which basically means it's private, even if the intention is that it be adopted (i.e. maintained by the council). Often developers of new housing schemes just bugger off without going through the adoption process properly. Which means that the council isn't obliged to maintain the road or street lighting, etc. WELCOME TO MY DAILY GRIND.
Or maybe it's under construction?
that seems to check out.
non-adopted or unadopted have been bugging me as descriptions. really wanna start referring to them as haunted at work now. :-D
On Google Maps, the bit between Whitacres Road and Parkhouse Road has grey road. That's under construction.
On www.openstreetmap.org some of that is dashed. Other bits are grey. They're fully constructed but weren't adopted. Until I adopted them on Friday. Feel free to update that map. I haven't got time, but I did correct the spelling of Whitacres, which was there as Whiteachres or sutin - see Edit Ref #28507254 by the btw.
I know one round here is greyed out and it is a long cycle path. Another one is more a farm track type thing.
trying to make a route and if i go down the grayed out road it shaves off about 3 mins (good for the environment)
gmaps doesn't seem to instinctivley like doing it - but i can force it to give me that route
bit more indie than grey - but it is fine
and sucked all the colour and vibrancy from that route
