Anne > Ann
Claire > Clare
Anthony > Antony
Stephen = Steven (couldn't give a shit about this one)
think one of them is so hateful it could only have been thought of by a nazi sympathiser
the non shit way!!!!!!!!!
Seriously! If it was a c you should be correcting it for me anyway.
The number of people who used to spell my name wrong in my old job was a joke.
Georgia > Jorja
Jemma > Gemma
Carl > Karl
Particularly the first one.
jorja isn't a name
You can have Eoin > Owen, sure.
i live with one, i should know.
john > jon
euan > ewan
could you please try to leave your prejudices at the door?
1) It's already one syllable
2) I don't know how you think 'Ste' is pronounced, but you're wrong
can't help but pronounce it "rooo-aaaww-reee"
says that logically if you're going to abbreviate a name you'd just remove letters and not change any so Nicholas => Nich. she's an idiot.
can you post a few pictures of her?
making up names for their kids that sound like existing names but are spelt phonetically; e.g. Kay-lee, Linzi, Ky etc
Lazy is just taking the current spelling. These people are innovators.
anyone I meet with a name like that I can't help but think they're an idiot that can't spell their own name.
My most hated is 'Shivon' instead of Siobhan.
(misogyny rules OK)
Positive this is the result of ignorant parents
Mohamad, Mohamed, Mohammad, Mohammed, Muhamad, Mohammed and Mohamed?
Houmous, hummus, hummous, hommos, humos, hommus and hoummos?
I'm ok with any of the above expect I won't have anything but an 'o' as the second letter of Mohammed, but put an 'o' as the second letter in hummus and I'll fucking skin ya
That's a shocker.
From Wikipedia: "Hummus" is the standard spelling in American English, while "houmous" is common in British English.
but now you mention it the third letter being 'u' does mitigate it somewhat.
doesn't really matter which of the two
the a just needs an extra e there
Secondly: Isabelle is clearly the best.
Matt > Mat
they're both as shit as each other
Felicity > Fellissitie
or a fellissitie?
Def names I came across in mah yoot
Tilly > Tillie
opening up the can of worms that is Katharine/Katherine/Kathryn/Catherine/Catharine ?
yes, we have.
only acceptable ones
people with no reference point spelling my name wrong I'm fine with, happens all the time. People in work beginning their reply to an email I've sent ending 'Thanks, Graeme' from an email address that includes my name (Graeme) with 'Hi Graham' can absolutely get to fuck. I just do not understand how you can do that.
Oh and for the record it goes
99% of other names > Graeme > Graham
when i get people replying to an email or facebook message or text or whatever and they spell my name wrong i'm like IT IS LITERALLY AT THE TOP OF THE SCREEN, YOU HAD TO CLICK ON MY ACTUAL NAME BEFORE YOU COULD REPLY YOU CUNT
obviously i don't say that to them though i just think it whilst quietly clenching my fists
The D is silent, hilbilly
and they corrected me and told me to pronounce it like Caroline
