A lot of people seem to like it here. Why? Is it just because it reminds most of you of the last time you were sexually virile?
The music was bland to tripe in varying measures with the possible exception of His and Hers by Pulp but that's not really what grinds my gears about it, that's just personal taste.
What annoys me is what it stood for. In a post Thatcher system, Britpop was used by the political class and the music industry to force feed the idea of capitalism as a way out for the working classes. All with a faintly nationalist aftertaste. But in reality it was just like one or two dickheads schmoozing with Blair. But the public lapped it up anyways, it wasnt liberating it was a tool for oppression.
