I am in you.
Seem to remember a few DiSsers living here.
What MUST I do with myself before I leave next Friday?
go to the ben nevis, have a wee whisky or two then cross the road and go to the crabshakk for some dinner. Once you're done there head along to sleazys where you can witness said drowned in sounders sliding down walls/booths after one too many bucktinis.
Any DiSsers fancy a pint in Sleazys at some point then?
Give us enough notice and I'm sure some people will make it (only if you share your evil plans with us).
Next Friday is tomorrow, or do you mean the following week? Get yourself a copy of The Skinny, which will tell you everything that's on. I usually pick mine up from a café called Where The Monkey Sleeps (it's good) but they are everywhere.
Erm, Emmy The great is on tonight at Tuts.
celtic Connections festival is on all over the city. there are gigs and workshops, and then every night at the art school there is a post-gig sessions where they serve some grub and there are jamming sessions and stuff.
Go to Sleazy's and have a burger (i know burgers are so 2012, but these are really good, even better than meat liquor).
I'm not too sure what's on next week, haven't thought ahead that far.
It's Big Ange's birthday party on saturday night which of course is always a highlight of any glaswegian's year.
"next friday" is next week
tomorrow is "this friday"
(although technically, the next Friday we will experience is tomorrow).
the totally mad but amazing hector bizerk are playing sleazy's on Saturday night.
however a man of your standing should no doubt be able to source a couple of tickets
the lighthouse (on a clear day)
sean do a subcrawl and live blog it
Plan B Books
Wander round ^this bit of town behind Trongate 103 on your way from the Lighthouse in town to WEST via a stroll through Glasgow Green past (and maybe into) the Peoples' Palace & Winter Gardens. Scope out the new Bridgeton Olympia Library and BFI Mediateque. The Women's Library is just across the road in the old library building. Hunt out the David Dale Gallery just past there. Look to your right (as you nip up to Tibo, Tapa or Coia's for a bite to eat) - BRUTAL! - they were the tallest residential towers in Europe at one time and won't be around for very much longer. Maybe visit the Shrigley-supported kid's gallery? Have a go on the Velodrome. View the new murals on the Tennent's factory and drink in Drygate... on the way to dropping into the Necropolis for a look around. Wave at a Fox. Snapchat some folks shooting amateur porn amongst the tombs. Have a nosey at the Cathedral and Museum of Religious Life, too. Skip round the corner and get wasted at McChuills listening to a ramshackle mash-up dj set by the coolest pensioner in town.
but yeah all that^
Trying to decipher what all of this is, but thank you. If the weather gets a little better I'm going for an epic walk tomorrow.
Also consider: The Modern Institute. And GoMA.
On a Sunday night. Few beers and some jazz and a wee dram to finish before bedtime.
Isn't it going to be crazy out?
(I'm probably gonna go see Menace Beach)
It's not evil, but it should be OK.
Or goto Sleazys for burgers on Thurs?
I'm also going to see Menace Beach tomorrow if anyone fancies joining me?
i could be up for wed/thurs night.
wed is a no go but thur is a mebbes.
In Livingston all day so Wed is out for me though.
for a burger and pint after work on thursday with our dear leader ESA?
we can gang up on him and find out where he's hidden the blue dots.
I'll come out and say hello.
can't drink or eat burgers though :(
ESA, Lopes, keef, A N Others?
going along and supporting a Glasgow YP event (yes, Young Professionals, yes I KNOW) but actually looking for an excuse to swerve it, so let me check with my master and let you know, but probably ok. We had a sleazy's burger two weeks ago and it was heavenly.
6 at Sleazys on Thursday?
so will join when done, i'll assume you won't leave sleazys?!
but I won't get away in time to meet before 6.30 this eve, so will be a wee bit late. Save seats pls (as burger consumption is ON.)
can't make it for 6, but will be along a bit later. take it youse will be in there a while?
Been feeling a bit minging all week, so not gonna be around forever. Enough for a burger and a couple of pints, like.
I have glasses and a red-ish check shirt on.
Come an Talk?
Quetsoin about the State, because i'm too shy to ask the guys behind the bar. Is there a particular affiliation with any Glasgow football team? it's impossible to discern from the look and feel of the place. And if I was to go near it on sunday would I potentially get barred/ glassed? Or is it my other half (blue nose) that I should be encouraging to stay away? Or is it *gasp* neutral? Thistle?
the pair of you should just parade as a couple of thistle fans!
since I live there :/ Might just stock up on loads of food and stuff and not venture out for 24 hours!! Although one of us is going to be sad and the other one unbearable by 3.30pm....
I've watched both Celtic and Rangers in there (not an Old Firm admittedly) with no problems, I'm pretty sure the owner is a St. Mirren fan (lol) so you should be absolutely fine watching it there
Folk still gonna be about?
I'm not going to get there till 6.30ish, but will probably only have a couple of drinks and a burger before needing to shoot off- text me and I can tell you if people have stayed or gone.
I'm the guy sat on his own staring at his phone. Got us a table.
Roll on March!!!
the meeting ended up very drunken, to the point where i am still not in work yet and missed a pretty important meeting this morn.
