Any of you nerds seen this yet? Saw it last night and it wasn't bad at all.
He got played bad.
Didn't think it did or said anything new or unexpected, but it looks and sounds beautiful.
I liked it.
was sure he was gonna be a robot, like
If you mean Oscar Isaac that is. Was positive he was the real 'test'
Excellent soundtrack from Mr Barrow (and someone else)
I.e. lifted totally a from a classic work and then boiled down to be shallower and more holiday paperback?
I reckon this is probablh fair. It is really, really watchable though - think Marckee's post is also spot on.
The bit with Ava rolling down her tights really pissed me off and stopped it being great, just made me think fuck off, don't, don't do this. It was overkill, we got it and tey could have still had the sexuality conversation afterwards.
Can anyone who's seen it please tell me why a director would this? How can I who has never studied film know that lack of subtlety is shit and a professional can't????
Ive been using the term deus ex machina for 30 years, never heard anyone else use it, until now, and that is NOT how I pronounce it
Interesting film, but I didn't think Nathan was that evil as they made him out to be. He had very skewed morals, which I thought was more based upon him being on his own a lot, but not terribly evil.
It's a good film, but I kept disagreeing with the way they were showing some characters.
saw the first half an hour, fell asleep, watched the last five minutes
I guess partly because it's so predictable but mostly because it gets too caught up in the Shaun Parker-like bro plot and seems to lack any sense of you caring. It felt super short. Starting to wonder if I fell asleep whilst watching it as people seem to be loving it but it just felt like another half-arsed movie about the singularity that could have been so much more.
but did anyone else pick up that the Nathan guy looked EXACTLY like slacker rap hero Kool Ad (formerly of Das Racist)?
No idea why they would have done this...assume its a coincidence, but it totally undermined the film for me and I couldn't really take it seriously as a result.
someone on twitters put them side-by-side :D https://twitter.com/ohmaiguy/status/591099855344381952
Not massively novel or anything, just really well executed.
And I love anything that has robots in it.
