I scored an always rising, half way line, *right* in the top corner blooter in 5 a side last night.
for someone. and was really good. typical.
nice to see someone playing a less effective passing game than man utd.
What happens now? Do they appoint a caretaker caretaker manager? It's like Inception.
12 days until Celtic vs Rangers.
is that it's dull and I don't care
With being able to pay their players and staff their wages next week. No time to go down the 3 bears route, as the NOMAD won't go near king without lengthy diligence. Suspect Ashley will put in loan potentially secured on castle greuskull. no manager of calibre will commit until we know which league they're playing in nectarine season. I am not currently offering my services, regardless of solvency status.
Nectarine > orange?
I scored 4 in 6 a side last night, 3 of them were RIGHT pearlers!
Big Kev Mirallas attempting to force through his transfer window move to Man Utd last night.
Cannot believe I actually watched all of that last night, fucking awful.
but Gary Neville saying it's worse than intentionally trying to break someones leg was a...slight overreaction.
He seems to be going full circle now, Neville. Was really refreshing for a couple of seasons, but now he just seems turning into some sort of generic rent-a-quote.
Still think he's better than everybody else doing it but he has become a bit self-aware now with regards to the whole ultra-professional thing, it was the same with the Tadic "incident" the other week, I was in agreement with him about it but he didn't need to bang on about it quite so much
but yeah, I think Carragher's brings out his curmudgeonly, Daily-Mail-column-writing side.
On that subject, very much enjoyed Carra's 'what's the world coming to!?' rant about players posting photos from the dressing room on Twitter.
Liverpool are as bad as Arsenal for it. Should be reserved for special occasions, imho.
Incidentally, some of the reaction to Arsenal's win on Sunday has been pretty funny. Didn't watch the whole game, but have to say, i'm not convinced Coquelin's the new Vieira, or that it was an upset of Sutton v Coventry levels. City were simply very, very shit on the day from what i saw.
None in quite such an excruciating way as Arsenal though, it almost seems like a dictated club policy there.
that the club might well encourage this. the stuff we put up on the official site seems to suggest that we're pushing this to give fans something away from the pitch. im as entertained as the next man by ox trying to recreate thierry's goal against united, or theo playing szczc at fifa, or podolski getting the bus.... but it does all seem completely irrelevant and just a tad cynical.
really wouldnt be surprised if these post-match photos and things showing off our 'togetherness' in the dressing room were a pr-driven ploy (in fact i'd be more surprised if they weren't).
you didn't lump a shit load of money on City to lose?
Nothing major, won around £100. The signs were there that City weren't playing very well, especially in recent home games, were very disorganised defensively, and Arsenal were on quite a good run themselves.
Only saw extended highlights, thought they looked worthy of the win...just thought the press reaction was strange - don't think Arsenal beating Manchester City should ever be painted out to be a huge minnows overcoming giants shock, and don't really believe Wenger's suddenly decided to change his entire footballing philosophy after twenty years.
(What do you mean, who cares?)
South Korea v Uzbekistan
Iran v Iraq
Australia v China
Japan v United Arab Emirates
Checked the table after the game to see if they were likely to be able to make a push for the Top 4 Trophy...fucking hell, relegation?
after they stuffed us back in April, the whole squad got replaced by imposters thereafter.
I knew they weren't playing as well this season, but I'd assumed they were in touching distance of Liverpool et al, not 4 points off the drop. Really tricky to explain, they held on to their best players over the summer too.
(Apologies if we've already done this, been a bit busy with my business-related business of late).
- Rumours are doing the rounds that we're looking for a centre-half, probably a short-term one, with Mangala being so inconsistent, Vince being broken, Demichelis being generally very good but nearly fifty. Someone like Winston Reid or Ron Vlaar would probably be okay for this season and next, and neither would cost much given their contract situations.
- James Milner will leave in the last week of the month if he's not signed a new deal by then. Likely to go to Liverpool or another club around the fringes, £8m a figure being mooted, probably about half of his real worth but the club's hands seem tied.
- Scott Sinclair's agreed terms with Villa, the clubs are about £1m apart on the fee.
- Wouldn't be that bothered if Jovetic left. We're asking for £2m for a loan plus £20m in the summer, apparently Juve have offered £2m + £12m, and they've just sold Giovinco, so it could happen.
Not even any rumours about incomings (beyond the usual paper nonsense), we might try and grab a RB and CB but it seems extremely unlikely
OUTS: None. Plenty of contract expiries and summer outgoings for the 2016 expirations though I'd have thought.
City want £1.1m for him ha ha #bants
why would a central attacking midfielder who can sort of play on the wing so keeps getting shovelled out there want to go to Liverpool when he's getting consistent game time with us? Given his English we've presumably offered him a fuck-off contract.
Funnily enough, David Silva said in a recent interview that since signing for City Milner's learned fluent Spanish and rarely speaks English around the training ground. Now, i'm not saying he's off to Barca or owt, but...
To answer Parsefone's post, i get the impression he's really obsessed with the thought of playing this combative box-to-box player, and word is Liverpool have already made contact and told him Brentdan would like to build his team around him and Henderson. Could be a proper crap team, that. Hope he stays, though!
(Probably other reasons like a huge signing-on fee. Most of these clubs pay higher basic salaries than City now or ones at least on a par, so there's a possible ching, ching element to it, too.)
Man City are losing players for ching ching reasons
- This Paulista lad at Villareal is the latest to be fairly heavily linked (mostly by himself it should be said). No idea if he's any good, but doesn't have an EU passport so look forward to his work permit falling through at about 10:30 on deadline day.
- Really think we ought to go for a DM too, even if only on loan, but Arsene seems pretty happy with Coquelin's renaissance, so don't think that's happening
- Kallstrom, just for the lolz
- Joel Campbell sounds like he might be off on loan or something, which makes sense as he's not really very good.
Roberto Soldado (Spurs) to Bayer Leverkusen or AS Roma
Neil Taylor (Swansea) to Crystal Palace
Darren Fletcher (Man Utd) to West Ham or West Brom
Nicolas Otamendi (Valencia) to Man Utd
Sami Khedira (Real Madrid) to Arsenal or Liverpool
Gerard Pique (Barcelona) to Man Utd
Sam Byram (Leeds) to Arsenal, Everton or Liverpool
Wilfried Zaha (Man Utd) to Crystal Palace
Nathaniel Clyne (Southampton) to Liverpool
Juan Cuadrado (Fiorentina) to Chelsea
for a defender i've never heard of is the sort of transfer rumour i can completely get behind.
It's an illness I've got direct family experience of and it's fucking horrible, it's unbelievable that he's playing again but unfortunately he's so far away from the standard required now
In hindsight it was a great achievement for him to turn his career round so significantly. In those early years he wasn't very popular at all, used in a number of positions and rarely made significant impacts on games, then for a season or two he arguably became United's most important player. It'd be a shame if the club couldn't find a place for him on the coaching staff when he wants to take it, assuming he's financially secure enough to even consider an early retirement.
To have got there and then have to work even harder to get back is unbelievable really. He'll have a job at Utd whenever he wants one, don't think he'll be hanging his boots up yet though.
Missed the 08/09 one
maybe he was but still in the squad anyway ha
Got a card in the semi which ruled him out.
as I do with Fopp
preferably not for Chelsea though
Still think Spurs and Liverpool will finish ahead of Southampton, who have admittedly been very impressive. Chelsea to win the title by at least ten points.
Leicester, Hull and Villa to go down. QPR to somehow escape relegation to the Conference on the final day. Ipswich, Boro and Wolves to come up.
FA Cup - United
League Cup - Liverpool
Champions League - City
Worth a fiver
Can't see them losing enough matches now to drop off given the position they've put themselves in, unfortunately I think that we're the most likely to not make it at their expense.
Leicester, Villa, Sunderland to go down
FA Cup: Us hopefully, think we'll go out in the semis to one of Chelsea or City though
League Cup: Chelsea
Champions League: Bayern
2 - city
3 - arsenal
4 - spurs
5 - united
6 - southampton
relegated: Hull, Leicester, Burnley
promoted: Derby, Bournemouth, Fulham
FA cup: City
League Cup: Spurs
Champions League: Barca/Chelsea
Europa League: Nobody cares
FA Cup: Chelsea
Milk Cup: Spurs
Europa: Not actually sure who's in it... Benfica? That'd be nice
Champo Leaguo: Real
FA cup- United
Champs league- PSG to kill football
Europa League: Qarabag
but you have no idea about anything
FA Cup: Chelsea
League Cup: don't care
Europa League: Liverpool?
Champions League: Bayern
5) Saintly brave plucky plucksters
Hull, Burnley and QPR to go down. Anybody put Ipswich to come up pls.
which would be pretty much simultaneously be the best and worst thing ever
because just imagine the feeling of doing over those tractor boy scumbags in the Most Expensive Football Match on Earth..... I honestly don't think there'd be many better moments in my life.
but then there's some days where I realise if that did happen and we lost I'd probably sink into severe depression or some shit
but there's a big chance that this might happen
think I just vommed a bit in my mouth
Surprised more big clubs arent interested. Doesnt strike me as a particularly bad player. Scores decent amount of goals. Just not a Mourinho player maybe.
MOTD player if you like, scores memorable goals but most of the Chelsea fans you speak to don't clamour for him to start more often or anything, quite ill-disciplined positionally apparently.
Him suddenly appearing to score that tap-in instead of Oscar last weekend is kind of him in a nutshell. Plenty of mid-to-upper level clubs would be willing to support a total poacher with a decent eye for goal, but a Mourinho team isn't one of them.
Well not rubbish obviously, just not very good. Bit like Podolski in that whenever he plays he ends up with a goal or an assist to his name, but nobody who's watched the game knows quite how.
They should bin him and give Salah more games
He's got a whole new city to Instagram, he's happy
and the PL is gonna start doing friday night games i wonder how long it will be before they switch to showing two games on week nights like 7 and 9 kick offs just so every game can be on the telly.
never get anything against evil Leeds and they'll be all frothy mouthed and up for it because Cellino Soprano is banned again.
we're shit atm, you're not. 3-0 bournemouth
haha good one, mate!
Don't play 5-a-side no more because of repetitive broken toe syndrome, but I still fondly remember my all-time top dog/goal. Received the ball to the right of the goal, 6 or 7 yards out, Des (multiple Player of the Year recipient) closed me down. He was one of those 6'4" lanky types who are boss at 5-a-side, even when you thought you'd beat him he could stretch a leg out to block. He always tackled me. I went to shoot with my left and he went to block so I turned him on to my right. He was quick to spin round to block as I shaped with my right, so I turned him again (!), slapped a shot with my left that went in off the crossbar and post of the far top corner. Everyone stopped and clapped.
[Author's note: I am shit at all forms of football]
I don't believe this happened.
He actually stays in a standing up position but rotates 90 degrees and lets gravity do the rest.
Or is their snow forecast?
it's on sky sports 1/ sky pass from now tv.
Light snow is predicted around 8pm. hehehe. Heavier nnow is predicted later tonight (but hopefully not until after the match).
The one from Valencia is said to be in the region of £140k a week.
Still more likely to go to Liverpool or Arsenal, though, apparently.
Got some really good players there who are at their peak age or thereabouts. Michael Bradley, Giovinco erm... Luke Moore
God bless MLS.
Some relatively decent players are going there now.
...but then, Jozy Altidore's getting £85k a week, so...
kyle naughton to Swansea from Spurs
Midd v Cardiff instead? u fucking serious, bro? Obviously don't expect there to be any interest in a team top of the championship for past few months.....that would be ridiculous, but Leeds normally have every single game streamed, every week for some reason
Seems far to early in the year for there to be a semi-final.
Let's hope they both lose.
Ultimate neediness from the Dippers, singing their silly Gerrard song as loud as they can early doors to drown out Chelsea fans ripping the piss out of them for blowing the title.
He says the commentary is hilarious.
he thinks its fucking annoying rather than hilarious but he's struggled to find another stream
the yank commentator said "they need to make more real estate" instead of make more space :D
…is probably something they would say.
"It might be one against two in arithmetic, but Sterling does a different math."
predictably shitting the bed at Leeds. The fall down the league starts now
But I do not rate his co-commentary.
Liverpool fans singing it at a club who were founded over a hundred years ago, have won three proper doubles, seven FA Cups and every European trophy possible. Arsenal fans were singing it on Sunday, apparently, despite the fact City were founded before them and winning things 25 years before they got a sniff of anything. I guess the fact that it irks people is reason enough to sing it, but modern football eh! (shakes fist).
Knows that it has no present and little prospect of a future.
just the final ball letting them down. Especially when it's Gerrard.
swallowing the whistle in both directions."
Courtois is bloody excellent.
Fuck off Boro you stupid accented Chelsea development centre
double over Bournemouth and first win since we beat Derby in November
Leeds are mental
Shit Bournemouth boring shit bastards aaaarggh! Fuck you you shit cunts aaargggh!!!
