and if you can pick one up for £100ish i'd always go for that over a hudl, which i've heard has poor battery life and suffers from pretty bad lagging
if he's fussy on refurb he could get that.
nexus 7 slays all
tbf asus seem to have named them all as confusingly as possible
Not even had it a year and it runs out pretty quickly already. Hmph.
everyone loves it and it's cheap as hell.
Under £200 is cheapish for a tablet, not cheap but cheapish, in the same league as nexus fir sure
avoid ipads imo
stop buying things
needs a usb port apparently
don't think any have a direct port where you can plug in, say, a external hard drive, but you can get a "on the go [OTG]" cable for like £1 which allows you to do this
apart from apple shite
thanks for your help!
I am pretty sure you can plug anything into that baby via the USB port and it will run it.
Also, MS are running SOOOO scared they are possibly cheap as chips.
£260 and it's actually £280 for the original Surface for some crazy reason.
Oh well. It's still the only one with a proper USB connector built it, I think.
Depends on if you need specific apps. I have a Windows phone and it does the job.
Windows RT is cut down for sure but it's also still Windows so I guess it's 6 of 1.
The Surface Pro 3 is the uber-tablet, though.
suppose you'll be wanting one with a "touch screen" next
will find out
you want to get yourself a nice palm pilot.
I haven't had an electric toothbrush since my early teens as they tickle the end of nose... or at least they used to. Maybe I should try one again.
would be the BlackBerry PlayBook. Dirt cheap. Outstanding build quality, storage, camera, mic capture. Prob pick up a 64GB one for about £60.
It's fucking great.
£100 down the drain. Absolute crap.
thanks guys for your help
If they get put off by all the Tesco crap that comes pre-loaded let them know it can all be fairly easily disabled.
Also asking for a friend.
I've never tried though. Where do you watch your hooky streams? I'll try one out.
Now livetv.sx I think...
I just tried livetv.sx and it worked fine on my hudl2. The stream I tried was YouTube based though
£130, seems to be as good or better than ones that cost loads more. It is a bit clunkier maybe, but otherwise I am very happy with it. All I do is watch the odd film, stream music, use tinternet etc on the sofa. If you are doing some online mega mmorpg you might be disappointed I suppose.
the battery life is passable, though the worse thing is the charge time which is pretty slow. It's nippy enough for everything I've thrown at it so far. Also don't listen to ipad man on this (sorry ipad man) because the kind of ipad you buy for a hundred quid is going to be an exercise in frustration.
It's pretty great. And I've not seen a better spec for the price. You can get a smaller version. Both are normally Android, but Windows 8.1 versions allegedly exist, which I would've preferred, to be tbh, but couldn't locate one (not released yet). Browsing on a 10" HD screen on Android, with a browser that keeps reverting to mobile view (because sites keep ignoring the browser request for the desktop version - hello DiS, Facebook, et al), and everything opening in fucking standalone apps (hello YouTube, et al) is pretty bloody annoying. Win 8.1 is hateful in many ways but at least it has a taskbar and you know what you can expect inside the browser (i.e. The Proper Full Internet).
