Ready for this? Starts tomorrow (Monday) at 9pm on ITV.
Hope they don't ruin how great the first series was.
That aside, excited to have it back and to see where it goes!
if you're that way inclined:
if they're reintroducing all the sandbrook stuff and then having the trial and lawyers and stuff.
quite looking forward to the lawyers getting stuck into turning over stones in Broadchurch.
glad it's mainly the old cast with a couple of new characters, I was worried they were going to do a new story and new characters in the same setting with Hardy and Miller.
But it was pretty good. I know everyone goes on about it but Sophie off Peep Show is a really fantastic actress. Feel like they should turn the music down a bit before it goes full Nolan, but still enjoyed the more stylised sections a lot.
But that film looks so fucking depressing I'll never see it to find out. She is great generally though.
Yeah it's bleak but it's still good.
Would like to see Olivia Colman do a role which isn't 99% crying, just to see what she's like.
Sometimes really west country, sometimes a bit, sometimes not at all. Really distracting.
Didn't notice it last night though.
Don't fuck with me NYFYO by God or I'll have you banned into the middle of next week!
yeah forgot to say
having not seen the first series.
Some good stuff, but... is it always so far-fetched? Heart-attack man hides woman by the beach for months, because he couldn't crack a case? What?
Lots of hackneyed DRAMA cliches too. Oh, the retired solictor comes back for ONE LAST CASE, pitted against her brilliant young(er) protege? Great.
Yeah, it's not brilliant, just brilliant for ITV.
Probably give up on it then. Life's too short.
Speaking of which, should I bother watching season 5 of the wire? No? Cheers. More time saved.
Really far fetched and frankly ludicrous how EVERY single character has some stupid connection to something that'll either hinder their testimony or come back to haunt them.
Recall Series 1 being far more laid back and realistic, but maybe absense makes the heart grow fonder? At least The Fall left it until the last episode to lose the plot...
I can't watch any more of it now though - I'm all for suspension of disbelief but the researchers either don't know anything about riles of evidence or court procedure or they don't care, which is offensive to their audience (eg you don't need qualifications to know that witnesses can't sit through evidence until they've given their own). Storyline also preposterous to the extent of the show losing any credibility. Such a shame as the twist, improbable as it was, could have been carried off if handled properly. Cringe.
Only Connect and Catastrophe I guess...
if you've got a problem with a geriatric lesbian kiss that's your problem.
throughout the scene I was thinking how was she going to react like 'omg....so you tell me now...NOW, when we could have been together for years....what am I supposed to do with this, NOW? I could have done with it then.....but (as she said) the moment has passed' well obviously, luckily, it hadnt passed and thankfully the affection overuled any anger about not having been told when she wanted to have been told.
then again I am an incurable romantic who wants love for all
