does anyone go to the pub on christmas day?
got family over tonight so won't be going.
how about yourself?
can't drink so i rarely get invited out
was supposed to be having tea with my parents but they're both moaning that they can't be bothered (neither of them eat much really) even though i offered to buy a takeaway in
just made this thread to see how many of you go to the pub on christmas day cause it seems like a really weird concept
we were supposed to be going to a family friends' for tea but my mam doesn't want to leave my dad by himself on christmas eve
just put my pyjamas on
people just assume that cause i'm poor and disabled and chronically ill and can't drink that i don't like going out but when i can go out i really enjoy it
to my parents house in the midlands, and once I'm in there, bar the brief Christmas walk, I will not be leaving their house for at least 3 days. Mixing with anyone but close family over Xmas doesn't appeal to me.
House party tomorrow after family shiz, then back to pubs until new year's.
Its not really Christmas unless I'm in intense pain of some sort, pale and pasty hovering over my dinner.
Tomorrow is strictly family, though.
not going out out though
yeah christmas eve is the only guaranteed to be good night out of the year
going back to Sunderland soon. Mam and Dad arguing a lot according to text I just got. XMASSS
have a nice time
good luck with the contact lens solution merry christmas
Massive daftie that he is
Merry Christmas 2u
normally go to the pub and get off my face and spend xmas day horrifically hungover but i cant this year. finding it really hard without alcohol. it's been 3 days.
not happening though
never leave the house on christmas day. pisses me off that sibling girlfriends and friends come round here on christmas day as well tbh.
my entire family (bar the ones that don't live in newcastle) are coming round tomorrow
need to mentally prepare myself tbh
Didn't grow up with the going-to-the-pub-at-christmas-time (it's any other time, for that matter) thing. Xmas was strictly fsmily bizness. Until my mid 20s. Then it became a me & her lockdown, with families dealt with before, in early Dec, or after, in early Jan. But still no pub action.
might have a cheeky drink on the train, will almost certainly have a whisky with my parents when I get home. Never done the Christmas eve pub thing much though.
meeting some people who have been out till 2. I HOPE that people will want to go to the club but i'm 100% sure that nobody will want to go except me and posssibly one other person and i'm not down for that. They think it's depressing to be in there on christmas day cause it's a rubbish place but they're wrong
a club open on christmas day?!?!
it's christmas eve?
oh i mean like, people don't like being there on christmas eve because of some 'the clubs awful and christmas is special' stigma
roger will probably be throwing out christmas presents from his dj booth. he'll probably be dressed in Hawaiian shirt and Christmas hat. aaah that gets me all excited but nobody will want to go
probably the best night of the year
i haven't clubbed on christmas eve but i went out on the 23rd or something the other year and they played stay another day at closing time and had fake snow and it was brilliant
roger used to play summer holiday at the end of every night but i'm not sure he still does
gonna go to the pub and give my pals their very badly crafted presents and have a singular pint as it is the most expensive pub in my town and i'm not really into drinking much at the moment. then come home and go swiftly to bed for a full 13 hours.
i haven't slept through in a week. maybe tonight is the night i sleep through.
I'm ill this year so I'm doing family time today so I can enjoy drinking later in the week.
Definitely pub tomorrow though. I'm done with family by 3.30, especially this year because my brother and my dad fell out in August and barely speak to each other.
Need to text a few peeps...
pub tonight with a few mates who arn't leaving London for xmas then tomorrow between about 1-3pm with my mum's side of the family before dinner.
I live on the other side of town to most of my friends who're out drinking. A night of boredom awaits :(
I've had some pretty fun xmas eve's out, also a couple of terrible ones. Waking up in a different house is never fun :(
and had to climb out the window and follow the tramtracks home. Was around Christmas time too, IIRC
Everyone. You'd have to be a needy bellend to pretend you don't.
never been to the pub at christmas in my life... until today
but my parents live in the country so a night out requires a £10 taxi home so 'one or two' isn't really worth it. think i'll save myself for boxing day.
It was a free bar and they brought food round for everyone. Merry Christmas.
Everyone goes. You look in any pub not in the city centre and it'll be "rammed"
how ya been?
luke has to go to luton for some reason, possible because he's got a kid somewhere. add on top of that the family of people i like to hang about with, they've moved to the opposite side of town, so straight after leaving the pub they went left instead of right. if they had gone right i could have convinced my friend to follow me to the club and to PARTY THE NIGHT AWAY. instead, everyone has agreed to party on the 27th. but that is really no good because everyone has lost the christmas magic and the christmas magic is irreplaceable. even if we have all thse people coming out that can't come out tonight. i would trade them all in for the christmas magic. i mean..... who cares about December the 27th. it's a no man's land.
anyway. i've never held so much saliva in the mouth in the quest to not be sick in a taxi drivers' car.
i might dress up like a snowman on the 27th because i thrive off the christmas spirit it's all that keeps me going until next christmas.
i'm not letting this christmas spirit go. i think i'm getting a reputation as beinga PARTY MONSTER and that's infectious so hopefully i can spread this about on the 27th merry christmas when is zillah's stocking ily
It's the only night where someone isn't working the next day so we just agreed on that. There could be around thirty of us at it and it'll get totally out of hand.
