We're officially into the festive football period.
actually on DiS? Don't recognise any of the names.
I'm Y Tu Mangala Tambien.
and given I forgot about my team completely, I am probably in last place.
Was out on a pub crawl of sorts with my flat mate and was peaking at around 4.45pm when the winning (hat-trick) goal popped up on the BBC Sport live feed. Happy, happy times.
Chelsea LOSE GROUND in the title race by failing to play AT ALL over the weekend. More Mourinho minds games?
The Chelsea admin staff have hastily arranged a game for tonight against non-league STOKE to depserately try and get some points in teh board/bag.
West Ham and Ipswich continue to march forward and make gains for the moral good, winning their games with double-goals each.
WIGS continue to tumble as memories of the wig falling off keep the incident fresh in our minds. Wig.
Disappointing lack of littles winning.
is out out. it's all a bit unsatisfactory.
Bradford lucky to scrape a draw against L1 big hitters S****horpe - Two goals disallowed for the ****s only to slip one in with the last kick of the game - 1-1
Sick of Bradford capitulating to a 1-1 draw at home having been in the lead in the 93rd minute
he was alright, wasn't he? Too old now, IMO
for his position. Can't think of many (any) others who have managed that.
over the weekend. Some really great displays from some of the lads, in particular, Matt Ritchie. Rumours Fulham want him for 4mil. Is worth at least 10mil to us at the moment. Absolutely no Chance of us going up, but nice to be top at xmas
Or am I just walking into a hilarious bit of DiS bantz?
Why so sure? Whole thing now feels like it is about the transfer window, and not much else. And it is hard to call how that will go.
I'm just not sure why, and you clearly go to lots of games, so interested to hear.
to forces for good in football. Will probs be someone like Derby and an awful, undeserving team like Ipswich. Think teams will have us better sussed. Get more physical, press, exploit us at set pieces. Happy to do v.little in window. Tall cb? a prem striker not getting many games and Boruc. Don't reckon we will sell anyone important like we normally do.
Am sort of not enjoying it now.
Can't get tickets for a few games I want to go to due to not meeting the (perfectly understandable) criteria, and everytime I do get one they move the fucking date so we can be on TV.
I'm not saying I want us to be perennial mid-table League One again for years and years and years, but, you know, there is a point in there somewhere.
nick hancock's football hell and football nightmares, and danny baker's own goals and gaffs series (and freak football) were my life when i was between 8-14 (after that i got laid, took drugs and partied all night obviously)
they are still funny now though.
any good ones out since that zenith period? we never had it so good.
Great stuff, in any case.
were the greatest thing.
particularly that clip of that non league player taking a shit penaty
AFC Bournemouth posts in today's football thread...so, subthread -
who is your current favourite AFC Bournemouth player? I think, for me, I would have to go with Matt Ritchie
The extended family is comprised almost entirely of Liverpool, Ipswich and West Ham supporters.
This time, and possibly only this time, the banter force is with us tinpot people. Even the sole Coventry supporter (uncle rick) won't get dished up any out of sheer pity. So us littles can combine, like Voltron, to channel Pure Banter at the Liverpool faction
I'll get steaming and do uncle rick as well
God, imagine being a NZ Ipswich supporter. Proper Wealdstone Raider stuff
absolute scumbags imo
Season has been dire so far this season, 1 win in 18 games for a club that has made the play offs in the last 2 season running says it all. Sven-Göran Eriksson was billed as the early favourite to take over, but thankfully odds on him have rapidly dropped in last hour.
Uwe Rosler would be a decent fit, i think.
Tactics Timbo rides again!
would love to see the gilet in person
if only cos Brentford play Brighton twice in the next month.
Stoke playing some 17th century football tonight.
That's a red all day long. Refs this year are fucking shite.
the most consistently cheaty, divey, fouly sides really don't like it up 'em the most.
If you're a side who don't engage with that, then whinge when others are overly physical by all means, but otherwise shut the fuck up.
I guess they've tended to have enough physicality about them to cope with all the snidey bad behaviour that you mention.
Chelsea are playing virtually at walking pace. Even if Douf does manage to toepoke one in they've clearly got about eight more gears to step to
consigned to having "World Cup Winner" forever prefixed to his name to underline how weird international football is
Hope everything's okay for him and his family.
