Dunno who, probably some NFC south teams
Should be good for a giggle. Also Clowney is done for the year
December Overall Record: 12-17
December Home Record: 3-10
December On The Road Record: 9-7
Cowboys have 3 road and only 1 home game this December.
Individual December stats for last 5 years: 65.4 comp %, 4,342 yards, 34 TD, 8 INT, 104.1 passer rating
No anti-bants allowed in the NFL thread.
Guy needs to drink more milk.
Brandon Marshall is potentially done for the year with broken ribs, also. That juggled catch he made right before the injury last night was amazing.
shame because he was doing so well (also fantasy reasons) but it looked real sore
As is traditional on Sunday afternoons in the last quarter of the year in America. Philadelphia visiting Seattle looking to be the particular highlight of a slate of matches that usually happen between 6pm and 4.30am Greenwich Meantime.
The game is taking place in the city of brotherly love
Alabama v Ohio State avid Oregon v FSU. Roll on New Year's Day
but maybe good that a BIG 10 team made it. Been enjoying watching some of the games this year, think I'll be rooting for Oregon from that lot.
Can anyone convince me that the Playoff System is not an unsolvable mess? The new system doesn't seem to improve on the old system other than increasing revenue for the NCAA. The history attached to local rivalries and Bowl games would seemingly prevent any radical changes being made to the Playoff System.
win out the season and go to the playoffs
switched on to Panthers-Saints just in time to see
first, Carolina converting on 3rd and long with a Newton run.
second, Greg Olsen TD with literally no Saints players whatsoever in coverage. actually none.
this is the Saints this year so much
which it should be for two 7-5 div teams, glad Ravens scored on that last drive in the half should be a decent second half..
Also that scrap in the nfc south, no not for the playoffs but the Saints getting a bit needlessly defensive when Cam do his superman thing leading to a 20man brawl.
I, want to check on the NFC South whilst the early games are inplay.
just struggling to find anywhere that does this, there's loads of site for football but none for nfl.
lovely long (short) snap and punt there in all of 10yds.
Defense holding out, and running game breaking out in the second half. Dolphins showing their limitations (ever thrown a ball more than 20 yards, Ryan?) and had about 500 injuries, it seems like
Tannehill used to throw the ball more than 20 yards, but the completion percentage was rather low. The offence had been more effective since he stopped trying the deep ball. Neither team had big passing plays today though.
Bal had 75yds rushing in first 3 qtrs, just some better def from Baltimore.
Dumervile is some player, eh.
Baltimore can't defend the deep pass for shit - can't remember Tannehill trying any deep sideline throws. Great for us but weird missed opportunity for Miami on Sunday
The 6 players they picked up from the Griffin trade. Mmmm, that's good snark.
The Steelers continue their mission to be the most inconsistent side in the NFL. A week after getting torched by Drew Brees, their awful secondary tried to do the same with Dalton and AJ Green. However a) Dalton isn't Brees b) The Steelers offence had one on their on nights.
I genuinely believe this side can beat anyone on their day, the problem is they can lose to anyone as well.
I see the Rams shut out Washington yesterday - when was the last time a team shut 2 sides out in consecutive weeks?
Ike Taylor has been horrific since he came back, Mike Mitchell only looks for delivering a big hit and can't cover anyone and Polamalu looks an absolute shadow of his former self; Dalton completely merked him on that TD run.
They can only win games because the offense is the best in the league when it clicks like it did in the 4th quarter last night. As long as they have Bell, Brown and Bryant on the field they have the potential to score on any play.
or maybe he just looked better when compared to Cortez Allen who was truly shit. Since he broke his arm he's just been slow and stupid and gives up too many big plays.
The real problem with the Steelers defence isn't just with the secondary though; LeBeau's system isn't even designed to rely on talent at those positions anyway. Since Casey Hampton left they can't seem to generate any sustained pressure at the line so they're aren't getting enough pressure on the QB. A lot of Steeler fans seem to think they'll go for a CB in the first round next year but I think they'll invest in a NT instead. They've used so many 1st round picks on LBs but without a decent NT there's only so much they can do.
But Defensive Line and secondary seem priorities.
The good news is the offensive line has been much better this year. Can't think of anything we need offensively for next year, other than a bit of depth at RB.
Miller and Roethlisberger, the next two cabs off the rank to retire on offense have both had excellent years. Miller's one of the most underrated players in the league IMHO, some of his run blocking yesterday was out of this world. Roethlisberger has had his best season for some time.
How are you feeling about Todd Haley these days? Do you think it's Lebeau's last year?
He's always looked lost at this level so a replacement at RT would be good.
I agree with you about Miller, there was a little while where I thought he'd maybe been too injured to regain his old form but this year he's looked great. The run blocking across the team has been solid, DeCastro and Pouncey consistently open gaps, Will Johnson is great along the edge and both TEs block well.
I'm warming to Haley because I think he's developed his scheme well but his play calling is always a bit suspect. They still get better results letting Ben call the plays at the line. I'm a bit worried he's going to run the legs off Bell too, we really need to get a relief back in there at some point although it's fairly obvious why they want to keep him involved in as many plays as possible.
against the NINERS?!
they smell of death
but seems the Browns and in for Harbaugh in retunrn for a 3rd round pick
Date Coach From where to where Compensation
Jan. 9, 2006 Herman Edwards NY Jets to Kansas City Fourth-round pick

Jan. 10, 2001 Dick Vermeil St. Louis to Kansas City Second-round pick
Jan. 3, 2001 Marty Schottenheimer Kansas City to Wash. 2 third-round picks
Jan. 28, 2000 Bill Belichick NY Jets to New England First-round pick

and fourth-round picks
The following season was the first I followed properly. When the Raiders played the Bucs in the Super Bowl that year they hadn't changed any of the audibles and play names from the previous season so Gruden still knew them all. Supposedly that's why that Super Bowl was so one sided and even more supposedly it was done deliberately by the Raiders head coach who sabotaged the team because of his hatrid of Oakland/love of Gruden.
Although I like the idea of Gruden still knowing all the play names and audibles, bit like when you're playing Madden with a mate and he accidentally shows you his play.
Must sound ridiculous to someone who's just got into the game... I mean, I missed out on a few years from '98 to '05 and I had to check it to be sure...
Made me think he's not a complete bum after all, although he was helped by some terrible Vikings tackling.
Bridgewater was good again. That's a couple of good games in a row now. He even threw a deep ball successfully!
Teddy's going to get the stuffing knocked out of him at Ford Field #softtoybants
Not confident about that one (dangerously close to anti-bants here I know).
and still genuinely believe three AFC North teams are going to the playoffs because the Chargers simply can't be trusted
and it looks like it's going to be a Bama - Oregon Natty. Halcyon days
Passing Cmp Att Yds TDs
M. Ryan 24 39 375 4
A. Rodgers 24 36 327 3
Atl could realistically have been 7-5 going in to Lambeau with 5 wins in a row. Last night could have been different too, 8-5 having won at Lambeau and the Falcs would have been handed the Lombardi. Fine Margins.
As it is a likely loss to the hapless Saints on the last day and stumbling against the Panthers and Smith will be sacked in a season with a 5-11 record.
Over this season
Ryan 330/504 (65%) 3802yds, 25 TD, 11 Int
Rodgers 276/416 (66%) 3652yds, 35TD, 3 Int
But then, you knew this post was coming.
and that's actually a lot better than I thought it would be, more completions and more yds behind the worst line in the league. Likewise the INT stat is bound to be in Rodgers favour with so many fewer throws and winning games at a stroll.
But he needed 88 extra throws for those 150 yards, and the TD/Int difference being down to those extra throws just doesn't swing it for Ryan.
He's just not up to Rodgers' level.
The poor offensive line is offset by being able to throw it roughly in the direction of big receivers like Julio Jones who will go and get it.
Matt Ryan for MVP, I imagine they'll give the Falcons a playoff wildcard for almost winning some games as well
like it most because TMU was the fake college in Friday Night Lights
forgot about that
I don't even know any more
Aaron Rodgers (107.1 in 99 starts) could go 0 of 69 w/ 69 INTs tonight & still have best passer rating in 1st 100 NFL starts in SB era
got to think if it wasn't Julio Jones on his own out there, we might have stolen it.
well, if our direct competition wasn't so abject.
such a waste :(
Mr. Jonathan Football has been named as the browns starter
18/41, 170 Yds, 1 TD, 3 Int, 7 Rush 64 Yds, 1 Rush TD
as the Browns lose by 17
browns win by 2. Manziel for MVP
as Sean Payton goes full angry Sean Payton...ok, he's always full angry Sean Payton. interested to see who we play at Safety now, as I'm pretty sure all our other Safeties are on IR
Get excited. In seriousness I always thought he was OK, sounds like an upgrade over Vaccaro based on this year's form.
i think we should trade for, i dunno, Geno Smith or someone, and convert him into a safety
now they're not allowed to kill people for cash there's basically no point in them
either me having that voice or him being into NFL. IMAGINE
you'll be fine.
Terrible news if true. I've read that microfracture surgery is always a last resort and players don't last very long after having it. It's what did for Terrell Davis among others.
You'd hope that the procedure has moved on quite a lot in that time and that Clowney would fare better.
Not sure how much it can be improved upon given the idea is to create new cartilage by deliberately destroying bits of the knee.
Where can I get that bowtie?
