Some spectacular stuff in here
that was not worth it.
That old lady's wig. <3
pretty standard for certain East End Jewish women.
Not all of them seem to be funny or judgmental, some are just observational.
first image is a woman in burqa
Yeah, sorry. No hyperlink to the park green full of people ironically dressed up like The Doctor wearing a fez.
it's not like it's a link to Dubai wildlife.
and the graffiti behind her?
Some are certainly about the contrast between the hipsters and the other locals like in no. 3
looking at clothes to wear with graffiti in the background.
a lot of them have juxtaposition.
that area of London?
You are just being deliberately dim now right?
I mean what two populations?
sean pays for his server space by the post
look at the graffiti in the background.
and a rack of clothes?
Kevin Spacey and Ewan McGregor
sorry to pn if you aren't the person who had/was defending a selfie stick
not sorry to meths though. thats how i imagine you'd dress on your dayglo pushbike
then when I was on holiday Dubai was chock full of preening pricks doing faces like that for no reason at all, at total non-events in their lives.
now I hate them with a passion.
the photos only confirm that Shoreditch is full of bellends. Quelle surprise.
it reassures me that there is still a London where interesting, different people from all backgrounds and pursuits can exist.
Hopefully it can stay that way, rather than fall under the homogenising influence that has has stalked much of the city over recent years.
diagram to be made of the people who have this'ed marckee's post and those who have this'ed the responding smiley.
I haven't decided what the category labels are yet however.
that'll let you put still_here and GG in the same box, tbh.
"still_here, sadpunk, monoshono, umlaut_ampersand, GayGuevara, Royter-Hatfood, Raanraals, and Verbal this'd this"
fair enough, seems to check out
Don't get the sneering
Not really, I can't defend that one.
Wasn't mocking the photos, more just the absolute carnage in some of them
As if that's basically EVERY Thursday lunchtime shift for her.
this post seemed harsh on Coventry
the WORST kind
it's drinking dark fruits strongbow.
Jack Wilshere in no. 74
have actually clicked that far
and most likely are, live and let live I say. East London has been a melting pot for years for creativity and fashion, it's experimentation that drives things forward. I let them get on with their business myself, I'm fully able to go on a night out in Dalston and not talk about hipsters. I just ignore them and push them out of the way if they're rude (which they often are).
Because they don't look like you?
I think they're seem like bunch of wankers because I've worked in Hoxton for 7 or 8 years. I'm qualified to over generalise hipsters haha... and there has been several times when they have looked like me.
You're coming across like far more of a wanker than anybody in those photos
that's probably very condescending. sorry old people
plus gilbert and george (right?)
It was easily the worst photo too.
I hereby retract any prior mention of Gilbert and/or George
There's a few contenders...
Would be interested to meet a few of these folks.
"Looks literally nothing like me."
and I can confirm it looks like him
in 90s Arsenal shirts.
meths prefers a knock-off France Henry shirt.
Might even get some hi-tec thrown in.
Everyone looks like they're having an unselfconsciously* good time.
*if that's a word.
89 pictures of random people i dont know and probably never will meet
Definitely William Eggleston vibe in those.
where is gallery 40?
Corner of Gloucester Road and Foundry Street. It's pretty hit and miss, but shows change every week or two and every so often they have some really excellent stuff.
thats the photo gallery yeah?
Think you might be thinking of Crane Kalman which is at the other end of the road?
One Eyed Jack's is a superb photography gallery a little further out too.
and you wouldn't have had to deal with any of that.
but aye, see your point
there's a couple of photos that aren't.
Don't see what the problem is with people 'creating' something though.
Make Chester the capital or something. idk
Don't worry about it
Take that, commodified urban identity
the guy passed out online in the pub looks so much like me it is scary.
it isn't, but he has my face, hair and clothes
