Happy Thanksgiving, clarts!
Today is my Friday, which is good in one way but means I have an insane amount of work to do today.
Also: we have become an uncle. Again. Although this time is special as this will be my first nephew. Not got a name yet; sister's surname is Foreman so I have suggested Norman
New Zealand version
Congrats to your sibling, and on your Friday-ness. I have work tomorrow, but there is (American) football to watch tonight and booze to be drunk and I sorted out some shit yesterday, so am feeling pretty chipper.
Agree with the name thing. Lot of Archies and Alfies around at the moment. Only a matter of time before Norman and Brian make a comeback
I've got lots of Brian friends in Scotland actually. I also have an uncle norman (not a real uncle, just one that taps you on the bottie and gets you to call him uncle). Notwithstanding this, I really like the name norman.
Just got to work. Gonna make some coffee.
Seeing a pal tonight. Gonna go to the Craft Beer Co., Covent Garden branch. I haven't been to that one.
A mate and I did an unplanned crawl from the Covent Garden CBC to the Whippet, Bottledog, then CBC on Leather Lane one Saturday, with a Brick Lane curry to finish. A fine day.
That sounds like a mighty day.
A new beer shop has opened near me actually. All it sells is beer (and cider) and hot sauce: http://www.hopburnsblack.co.uk/
Tomorrow I've got to be in Crawley as well. Ball ache.
At least today there should be a good lunch available.
on holiday tomorrow
all is good
Easily one of my favourite holidays, mostly because its 3 NFL games on a weeknight and loads of food and beer. Easter can't compete with that.
Nothing to report.
As you were.
this is all that matters today.
Girlfriend managed to bag tickets for the John Grant at Festival Hall thing on Sunday, and I'm off to the wonderful BBQ shack for meats galore tomorrow.
Everything's coming up Occupanther!
I thought he was great in Edinburgh.
There were times where he struggled just a bit singing against a full band on the heavier songs, but really enjoying how he has that range of different styles now - swinging from really quiet solo piano stuff to shrieking wildly and stalking the stage with these huge stabs of electro synths and stuff behind him.
Quite like the fact that loads of his songs are sub 3 minutes, felt like he packed loads into the hour he had onstage.
Seems like such a lovely guy too...
Did he do a cover? I couldn't work out what the song was he was covering but it was great.
I barely slept last night and have turned today's coffee consumption up to 11.
Got an email from a member of staff last night that put me into an absolute fucking rage.
Todays he's getting dealt with.
they all cc'd a couple of folk in that there was absolutely no need to.
I have no problem with folk having issues and wanting to discuss them but the tone and the way they went about this was surprising and extremely disappointing.
I'd also always expect someone who had an issue to raise it personally rather than in an email whilst ccing in folk that have no reason to be cc'd
Vengeance in this life or the next.
(but mainly this one)
cc'ing in his mum and dad
The equivalent of showing someone up at a meeting.
bcc'ing is like whispering behind people's backs
listening to rammstein
my longest serving friend got enaged last night and that is amazing news
checked my bank balance and last month I spent approximately a grand more than my salary. Didn’t even buy that many drugs, so that is pure boozing meltdown.
I should also possibly stop smoking 20 camels a night and go back to the doctors for those tests, since the whole shadow on the lung situation probably isn’t very good. Feels a bit like.. bad today
I also looked in the mirror this morning and seem to have lost an unnatural amount of weight. Should probably eat more than one sandwich a day. Shredded? Shredded
Ah well. Probably should get back to work as it’s looking like a 15 hour day of pure manic intensity and corporate nonsense
Saw mouusee last night. Hi mouusee :)
Take care of yourself dude. Go have a chat with that doctor.
internet oversharing. Sorry
i'm ok, just need to pull my head out my arse at some point
as it was her birthday. We left it a bit late though as she was working late/ is generally slow, and everywhere we tried to get into for dinner (ok the 2 places we tried) was full and by the time they had a table for us the kitchen was closed and could only do chips or bread.
I had a lovely glass of rose champagne though as a treat.
I'm speaking at a thing in Edinburgh later, then we are going to watch the football and cuddle as celtic go crashing out.
for about the first time in 2 weeks, even stopped and got fruit on my way
44 days to go.
in true Murphey's Law fashion, my manager gets back today and it's quiet on the work front. :I
1. Does he think he's in a Mafia movie
2. Does he realise he could get the sack as that's so racist
1. Nope, he's just an idiot I think.
2. Also, nope. A few of my team have now backed me up in telling him that he's wrong and to stop using it.
He's an absolute LAD and this is just the latest in a long line of hateful things he's said. I really hope he gets fired at some stage.
absent-mindedly went to ^This it.
