is anyone on here arsed? dunno.
here's the trailer anyway: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFinNxS5KN4&hd=1
in the same way the first one was. People remember the first one as being something more than a fun family oh-shit-that's-cool film, but it wasn't. So i just want that again.
but also there is something special about it, too, that I can't really put my finger on. I hope there's something of that in this, but I really dunno.
For one thing the dinosaurs looked ridiculously realistic, something we'd never seen before.
And Spielberg's direction totally makes it. Directors are important and a good one can add an edge to a film.
Basically I'm not sure what you'd count as 'more'? JP is one of the great classics, like Jaws before it.
It's not highbrow, but it's a classic in the way Jaws is a classic. This one looks like the other sequels - a bit popcorn, but I'm going to go and see it anyway.
There are plenty of perfectly good real evil dinosaurs they could've chosen from. Also the CGI doesn't look that much better than it did 21 years ago.
and a big part of why it's aged so well. was hoping they'd go the same route for this one but the CGI looks pretty awful.
I'm sure it'll look fine in situ.
The whole Run Lola Run thing, Chris Pratt being a 'serious' actor whilst not sounding serious at all, everything else being literally just a CGI version of Jurassic Park...
This just looks like a fake trailer. I'm so confused.
I thought it was used either in the escape at the end or part of the end credits theme.
It's a haunting piano version of the original score.
I hated that kid.
Should have just made a film of loads of people having a really nice time watching dinosaurs
I'm so on board with this
to try and find a new, mega-scary, iconic dinosaur...and then just made one up.
which was great
jupming out of the water to eat a great white was pure Bay
all it needed was a BWAHHHHHHHHH dubstep sound
some of Chris Pratt's lines do sound a bit rubbish but he's very watchable. The whole geneticly modified dinosaur is lame and was there a shot with raptors running along with Chris Pratt on the bike... hmmmm, that short of thing should be laughed off at script stage.
I'll still go see it though obv.
that looks so bad
I'd assumed the big scary chasing dinosaur would be a spinosaurus - bigger than a t-rex, long jaws, masive claws and a sail on its back. hardcore and cool looking.
Was that a leoplurodon in the water? (no idea why they need to feed it a great white when any big fish would surely do...or a dolphin even.)
I like the bit with the door opening and the flare. I hope she says "get away from her you bitch"
mostly it looks pretty shit, if not almost a carbon copy of the first one but a bit sillier. should be fun unless it is really really bad.
you'd have thought that if they were making a park for people to go to that they would hold off on making the massive killer dinosaurs, just in case. y'know....just in case.
does it have pterodactlys in it? i really can't remember it. might watch them all again before this one. just because dinosaurs
JP3 gets a lot of shit but I like it. It's got this pulpy aspect to it and it's a lot of fun.
but I have seen Jurassic Park III. Probably did that the wrong way around.
I think it could be quite good, but I thought this year's Godzilla was going to be really good and it ended up being a bit pants, so who knows.
Also, I know Chris Pratt is quite box office these days and was apparently good in Guardians of the Galaxy, but I can't take his serious acting seriously (for want of a better phrase.) He just sounds like Burt Macklin, FBI.
lost it at the raptors running alongside the quad bike.
but I'll probably still watch it.
Chris Pratt turned down the more mighty role of Nate Drake because he knew his career was over after this. he was just doing us a favour.
Which is historically more successful? I'd say he made a good move!
a sequel of a film which has already had shitty sequels
Just don't think JP was the kind of film that gained anything from being serialised.
I got up very early in the morning to make this joke, if it doesn't get some serious thissing very soon I'll be taking my business elsewhere.
they're considered very intelligent and hunted in packs, so there's nothing to suggest that they wouldn't act like other pack anmials, like dogs. brilliant.
at first i thought they were supposed to be chasing the bike which would have been completely stupid.
are very Phantom Menace, aren't they?
The rest of it looks like one of those Sharknado films but with a higher spec green screen.
Billy and the Cloneasaurus
For the Mum at the start (Kitty from Arrested Development) to turn to her husband, point at her kids and say "well say goodbye to THESE"
i've changed my mind about the splicing - I hope they have gone all out with it and not given one single fuck. Like, a spinosaurus with kentrosaurus spikes, styracosaurus frill and horns, and fuck it, some quetzalcoatlus wings as well. it didn't climb out, it grew wings and flew.
too much to hope for?
"Yeah, maybe we could jazz it up a bit though? Like, could you invent a NEW dinosaur?"
Successful fun park
How do we get people to come back? New Dinosaur
Chris Pratt saves day
I can't wait :D
when I was a kid and it was a massive deal at the time, like it was the most important thing to see ever and the best day of my life up to that point, at least since ninja turtles.
Rachael goading Ross that 'Jurassic Park /could/ happen' after she wrote that letter when they went on the beach trip & got back together
And as for Pratto being in a bike gang with Raptors, note what people say about them being trainable, etc, but this looks utterly ridiculous (akin to Shia LeBeouf swinging through the trees with his monkey pals in Indiana Jones). Guessing that they will drive the friendly raptors idea into the ground and one of them will save the day or something.
the trailer makes the film look like it's going to be awful, but I'm obviously going to see it and probably enjoy it reasonably anyway.
for JP. Let's save the day with our raptor buddies! wtf
I will cry.
Provided they don't include too many clunky references to the first film.
Like someone holding on to an electric fence and saying "Don't worry, a child could survive the shock!" or a "clever girl" moment.
using mostly the same face
She must hate her so much.
but turns out they were considering human-dinosaur hybrids in an early script.
apparently not ILM's official designs, but who knows.
such heresy. most bad.
Better than the ponderous third film, that's for sure.
pretty sure there'll be a thread for this somewhere.
Jurassic World is probably right up your street!
actually, if Jurassic World was Chris Pratt being chased around an island by one velociraptor for two hours it would probably be better that what's coming.
in which he is dismembered by dinosaurs
Should'ave made it so there's like a war between the 'original' dinosaurs and the 'new' dinosaurs, kinda russian civil war allegory
If not then set up a meeting. I've got a pitch that will blow their minds.
emergency repair work or something apparently
So lots of bellends are quoting that line from the trailer "Remember, if something chases you... run!"
If you're not already running, it's not really chasing you is it? It's just running at you.
"If something is running directly at you remember... start running away from it in the opposite direction so that is now chasing you!"
but it's also worth pointing out that saying stupid things could be said to be 'realistic' dialogue.
A gruff protagonist is chased around a muddy field by chain smoking elves and a Santa with vomit on his trousers.
Fancy the funny haircut scientist babe too. Well done, marketing.
Some of the comments are amazing:
'#JurassicWorld Mega-mosasaur has palatal teeth (well done) but no forked tongue-tip as per the platynotan hypothesis (boo). And.. frill? FFS'
Srsly, what the actual fuck were they expecting?
don't think i've seen anything with chris pratt in it before
it's very good despite what some of the indie try-hards on here will tell you :)
such an easy film not to fuck up
good one guys
and thought it was a theme park. Told me she wanted us to go next year
Trying to decide between 2D and 3D. Maybe both is the right answer.
and more amazing that anyone's still listening to them
this thread is no longer about Jurassic Park
We should do the quiz here
I don't wake up until nine!
who what woods where. Talk to you soon.
TALK TO YOU SOOOOOOOOOON
You're great! ......NOT!!!!! haha PHONE WANKERS!!!!!
