I'm not a fan of this.
but there's something rather undignified about it. It may be on a publicly-accessible forum but it's essentially a private moment.
Like the comments on this news item:

but the amount of general news stories that are based on something somebody tweeted at somebody else these days is infuriating. THAT ISN'T NEWS.
Really worried that if I die in some car crash it'll get promoted as:
"Underachieving man with a reasonable modicum of talent goes unexpectedly. Won't be missed by many."
And people scour social media for a reaction. Voxpops were ridiculous but at least I could put a face to the resoundingly thick opinion.
when there are ample qualified experts
Find some "OMG cant beleeve ur gone rest in peece with the angels luv u bbzz" quotes, story done, off to the pub. Same goes for any "Twitter outrage" story.
