Real dearth at the moment, isn't it not?

Louie is still going but that is the only one I can think of at the moment. I mean the top notch stuff. You understand?

Prove me wrong, I dare you!

      • Started to tire of Parks and it hasn't been on for quite some time now.

Adventure Time isn't what I am talking about at all although I don't mind watching it for a few minutes here and there.
Bojack Horseman is too alcxxk for my tastes.
Comedy Bang Bang, no idea what that is but sounds like gonads to me.

        • Oh right, so we're supposed to be only naming

comedy shows you're talking about. Can you confirm what that means, for reference?

Getting themselves into all sorts of hi-jinks, with their middle class premium problems.

but I end up getting really angry at stuff which I just wasn't aware of. Not sure how healthy that is in the long run. The special visa thing for afghan translators who assisted US forces is just a scandal.

    • Brooklyn Nine-Nine is great.

Proper ensemble comedy where every character can make you laugh, Gina the PA is the best comedy creation of recent years, Captain Holt is brilliant, and Terry Crewes is in it.

      Fuck off, mate.

      • Yeah

God forbid a TV show take a few episodes to really get going.

        kiyonemakibi @sadpunk | 27 Oct '14, 11:07 | X
        • that's fine, but it should still be funny and entertaining as it "gets going".

          sadpunk @kiyonemakibi | 27 Oct '14, 11:13 | X
      • it's definitely "a thing"

eg bojack horseman needed a few episodes to establish what it was before then developing the characters into a real story, parks and rec needed almost a whole season to get fans by being a blatant rip off of The Office before doing it's own thing

        alcxxk @sadpunk | 27 Oct '14, 11:10 | X

    • First season of Silicon Valley was really promising

Modern Family continues to be consistently great (if slightly mawkish), Parks and Rec is back soon, Community will hopefully get back to its wonderful best next series and I for one have been really enjoying the Mindy Project on the few occasions I've seen it.

      There's loads.

      DanOccupanther | 27 Oct '14, 11:04 | X
      • TOP NOTCH Daniel!

Silicon Valley was ok from the bits I have seen. P&R and Community on the massive wane and Modern Family... no.

        LaszloPanaflex @DanOccupanther | 27 Oct '14, 11:08 | X
        • Modern Family yes.

Think people tend to disregard it as they think it's too broad and not 'edgy' enough, but it's supremely written, very well acted and consistently hilarious.

Agree with Community and Parks and Rec to an extent, but I'm not writing them off just yet.

Maybe that's the inevitable fate of all comedy series though. Should set a Logan's Run style cut off point of 50 episodes or something.
