This is the most important thing of the weekend: http://t.co/TKpnHJhrJJ
So came here to be furnished with all of the necessary news from the weekend. After the OP I feel like I've learned everything worth knowing and a lot more.
I didn't think it at the time, but how the hell did he end up at West Ham?
Yes, I'm basing this on one game.
Also, apparently he was desparate to come back to London and Wenger's still upset after the way he left previously.
looks even weirder now: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/west-ham/11188849/West-Ham-goal-machine-Diafra-Sakho-facing-month-out.html
Hopefully we have the wear with all to replace Sakho if he is out for a while, but it'll be tough if so, probably need to change the system again. Don't want to lose too much ground on Chelsea after closing the gap this weekend.
Also, *another * international break in just over two weeks from now?!
not head, where he was pointing. to waste time.
Cheer up grumpychops!
Rodwell got kicked in the chin, went down holding his eyes. MAN UP
fair play for doing it against Arteta though, who spends entire games falling over holding his shins.
Wilshere just falls over. Arteta dives. A lot.
they were blatantly squirting in the wrong place werent they.. if they wouldve applied the magic formula in the water bottles to his shoulder he'd be fit by now.
It looked like a foul live, but they didn't show it on MOTD. Didn't show enough of Kompany's fouls either, to provide context to why it was so incredible he didn't get sent off.
What a time to be a West Ham fan. We've got a player who is being described as a goal machine!
Really kind of Man Utd to do us a big favour yesterday.
but will never, ever be given as a penalty.
Not sure anyone could argue both Aguero and Kompany shouldn't both have gone, but no bad thing to beat the champions without there being a ready excuse for it. Obviously we won't because we're West Ham, but in theory we've got a much easier run of games until Boxing Day now to carry on the good form...
Not sure how he gets away with it.
Was the same with Vidic a few years back until he pushed it too far and started getting sent off every week.
EEE PEE ELL
- Celtic moved up to fourth, and may end up in the European places before the season is out.
- Hearts score a last minute 45-yard SCREAMER to draw against Hibs.
- Mike Ashley takes control of Rangers, nobody seems to be entirely sure what this means in practical terms.
If we'd become independent you lot wouldn't have to hear about all this, but we didn't, so you do.
(Too many is obviously the correct answer but if you could be more specific that'd be great).
One Scottish Cup place.
1st goes to Champions League 2nd qualifying round, everyone else to various stages of Europa qualifying.
As it stands, Hamilton Accies would face the indignity of having to play qualifying rounds to get in the champions league.
i haven't a clue what's going on at rangers
Think we might actually have won it with Falcao ahead of RvP, definitely our most cohesive team performance. A lot less pessimistic ahead of City now (we'll still get beaten but I don't think it's going to be an absolute fisting)
Reckon we could do them at home tbh, tbf, but we've been proper shite on the road (currently 16th in the away form table).
Best game for a long time.
But he certainly wasn't good enough to be undroppable now that we have one of the world's greatest strikers waiting in the wings
Welbeck plays for Arsenal now, Ant.
but I've stopped having confidence in the manager doing that. What's specifically depressing about that is this is pretty much the exact point in the 11/12 season where I began to think the same thing about Mancini.
Don't the years just fly by?
Chelsea clearly better than us at the moment, but the game itself was very even and we remained pretty competitive the whole way through, save for the period immediately after they scored, when we looked deflated and out of ideas for a bit.
Good to see some late goals coming back as well - the players seem to believe they can actually get a result when behind now.
City away will be a whole different proposition though. They just seem to turn up for it so much more than we do in the last few years :(
Obviously I knew he was good when we signed him, but thought he was maybe being a bit overhyped by people calling him world class and, most annoyingly of all, a 'game changer'.
Delighted to be proved wrong, he's brilliant, just hope that the dawning realisation that he's going to have to do everything himself doesn't completely crush his spirit.
we'd be alright.
Arsenal fans realising they've got a half decent player is traditionally followed by said player picking up a hamstring strain that keeps them out for 5 months.
Hewn from Chilean granite so hopefully he'll be ok, at least until he gets Shawcrossed or dies of exhaustion from having to play about 5 positions at once.
where every time we lose/put in a shit performance i'm worried he's gonna decide he hates us. I won't be able to take the rejection if he does :(
Like watching the Hart Foundation at their peak - pretty sure Smalling actually suplexes Ivanovic at one point
It went in our favour yesterday for sure though
looks like we have a viable tag-team with their own signature finishing move!
not remotely terrified with the ball at his feet like before.
He was obviously behind some rope but he was there. Looked like a dad at a Sunday afternoon roast: smart trousers and a woolly jumper. All the bouncers were very friendly as well. No celebs in attendance. Basically I didn't hate him, even though I wanted to. The free booze may have helped.
saw it on twitter with the comment "almost as long as Neymar's"
still haven't hired kit symonds
being a bit Emperor's New Clothes and I think soon I would like to find that post and wave it around in triumph.
It's just Spurs. Imagine having to be their manager? "Right he's 100m quid. I and the fans will only accept champions league qualification as a bear minimum, but let's be honest, we should be winning the league".
Not top at xmas? Sacked.
Hes still recovering from his pal Roman Abramovichs birthday party
sorry one sec, got a missed call from Roman...
but Pochettino's reputation far outweighs his achievements. Basically saved Valencia from relegation then pissed around in the bottom half of La Liga for a couple of seasons. Initial good results with a very good Southampton squad but arguably underachieved. Considering managers with much better (and bigger) CVs have been shit at Spurs, he hasn't got a hope in hell.
When did he manage Valencia?
Completely forgettable spell as manager.
Don't let the fact that I think all non-Barca/Real Spanish teams are Valencia detract from my excellent, insightful analysis.
(Turns out it was Espanyol - who knew??)
Barnet got a reply so actually made it. Cup run please.
good to see
I wish I supported Real or Barcelona.
a la Messi and Ronaldinho, if he'd been a bit more sensible they would have scored 5 or 6
"pass to someone who wasn't there and look fucked off at how shit people are at reading his mind" thing. very enjoyable.
i dont reckon anyone loves themselves more than he does. Anyone in the universe.
he's just a walking cocktail of steroids
El Clasico? Was never a thing until five years ago, really.
about 2005. then even more so when Real started being an octopus again
started referring to 'golazos'. muppets
about how if the fans want him to go he'll leave. He did a reverse one when he was interested in buying West Ham that if the fans wanted him to save the club then he'd do it. Inevitably it was followed by the metaphorical sound of crickets chirping. So embarrassing
...and when i say shittest, i mean funniest.
They're such a fucking crap club. They could quite conceivably be playing Conference football next season but it's okay because their chairman wears a replica shirt and that and posts on Twitter.
Just on holiday apparently. Makes sense that football club employees get annual leave I suppose
Manager's get put on gardening leave to avoid paying up their contracts in a lump sum, then if they get another job they're either released or the new club have to buy out their contract. Think someone like Palermo appointed the same coach 3 times in about a year a while back
But Italy is mentally corrupt and nonsensical. Especially that dual-player ownership thing that I can never get my head around on Football Manager.
have actually been managers who have been reinstated within a week after sacking off the replacement.
That, ladies and gentlemen, is what a winner looks like.
How can anyone sack that many managers without realising that it doesn't tend to lead to a reversal of fortune? The old quote about the definition of insanity and same results blah de blah springs to mind
and simply sped up their management policy. Makes sense really.
than an HR issue
Glad we've finally caught them on their adventure in the lower leagues, should be a feisty affair
Weird how Harry's gradually become a stodgy long ball merchant. It's not like he was some tiki-taka-meister before given he's signed Crouch about 20 times, but in some ways it's starting to mirror the pretty obvious waning of his motivation. A bit sad really.
can both teams get relegated tonight as punishment
is a serious indictment of English football as a whole.
who are now complete shit.
Today's would-be arsenal deadwood is... Benteke (didn't watch the game)
One of the few joys not afforded to oilball fans. Gutted.
Imagine signing the likes of Monreal, Arteta and Jenkinson in a panic. Have to be a joke of a football club.
concerning him getting literally attacked by Flamengo fans for being so crap. Cba finding it.
Wasn't Pato there too?!
