people genuinely wet themselves over it.
having said that we are having friends and their kids over, doing a NT trail and then back for halloween themed lunch...
so (subthread) menu ideas PLEASE, am doing a jelly brain, burgers with cheese cut as pumpkin faces, possibly mummy style sausages
Plus there's no pressure having to buy gifts for people.
Also, I prefer Autumn to Winter - pumpkins, autumn leaves, soups, autumn walks.
AND I love everything about horror.
how racist so many people are with it
I am genuinely surprised by how many people still seem to think it's ok to black up, amongst other things
I am sorry if I expressed this opinion in a manner that was not to your liking
unless Scott Bakula felt like dressing up as Blacula. No one could deny him that.
is the fact i want to go to the pub next friday but everywhere will be full of clungehammers dressed up in slutty walter white costumes
holidays are comin'
holidays are comin'
Anyone excited about it needs a fucking good hiding.
Assuming they're over 12.
is this a service you provide in exchange for cash?
what is your problem exactly?
Are you a witch persecutor or something? an inquisitor? a sadist?
I think it's a combination of not liking fancy dress and mild depression.
I'm glad you like it though.
It does seem more of a blatant excuse to get us to part with our money than Christmas though. I mean the commercialisation of it and its increase in prominence seems to have happened at a relatively fast rate.
I don't remember it being that big a thing when I were growing up, did people have Halloween parties and such in the 80s and 90s?
to peadogeddon.. cant send the kids trick or treatin so have a party instead.
havent got any decorations
just the 2 cups
- people who wear non-hallowe'en outfits on hallowe'en
(fancy dress haters and general enthusiasts are fine)
or i might stay here and think of an excuse to not go out with my housemates but still go out with other people
JUST LIKE ANY OTHER DAY
That I won't be going to some sort of party, and I won't get to dress up. Halloween is normally the best. :(
As an aside, can I just say how annoyed I am that people don't even bother with scary/horror related costumes anymore? Come on guys
and hallowe'en seems to be crap outfits, crap decorations and little else. I would rather just get pissed without all that faff thanks.
I don't want to be one of those people that gets annoyed at others just for enjoying themselves, but I totally am.
In Spain at Easter.
on Easter Sunday I was in Granada, they have all these crazy parades and shit and it looks like the KKK or something: http://web.schc.sc.edu/Samantha_Ward_Senior_Thesis/pics/semanasanta1.jpg
Anyway there was a stall selling toffee apples. I had one.
but i decided i didn't want to drink any more, so i haven't done that again since, although i might do sometime, for a low alcoholic treat. #nothatmakeuthink
but not many celebrating all hallows day.
In many ways, the opposite of Christmas.
and that was Thought Of The Day on radio 4 with MC Shit Thread in our Peterborough Studio.
I'm not sure it does any more, now that i don't check what's on TV.
ITS NOT A HOLIDAY - WE DON'T GET A DAY OFF. FUCK OFF.
and the Queen's Speech was on the telly, with the Queen dressed as a Wolfman
Trick or Treating's about as morally bankrupt an activity as you can engage in though and no prospective child of mine will ever partake in it. Cunts the lot of 'em.
