I'm looking to book a place for the troops for Christmas, so looking for a place to eat for approx 30 folk?
we usually go to the ubi chip
30 is quite a lot of folk tbf
Howdy japes, how are you?
not bad, LP. how's it going?
Where you been paisan?
much the same. been trying to focus on work.
but it's friday afternoon and the software I need for my job is fucked, so here I am.
Just giving this sorry mess of a forum a miss for a while?
one way to find out!!
Last time I took them west they complained at the cost, even though the company was picking up the bill.
i think this place will seat 30 people. it has an awful name but it's nice food and it's 'laid back' http://roastitbubblyjocks.com/book/index.php
broomhill/jordanhill at £30+ a head but i don't think that's what you're looking for. although stravaigin is cheaper then i thought it would be http://www.stravaigin.co.uk/christmas-dinner.php
you can hear the wee contained room i think for a couple of hundred quid
they get pretty rowdy
What's the food situation there?
so great, then.
We went there last year and the food was astonishingly good!
Lunchtime Festive menu was £18.50 (or £21.50 on a Friday/Saturday)
Choice of 4 starters, 4 main courses and 4 desserts.
Get on it Lo-Pan, and reserve me a seat
it does curry, pizza and fish and chip takeaways... and is also a convenience store.
Saw in the window they do a 'gourmet meal' for £17.50. Seventeen pounds fifty.
So yeah it's not a restaurant but you should get the gourmet meal takeaway basically
in the Mercado city?
Or Brutti compadres (they have a new downstairs bit. Jyst back fomr lunch there and they ahd simple minds, eurythmics and human league BLARING all afternoon, pure amazing. and some free Patron CHUPITOS!!!!11)
a few months back, the food is great and their grand hall is impressive as fuck - http://hutchesonsglasgow.com/venue/restaurant/
i dont think this is entirely appropriate for a work xmas party but has anyone been here? http://www.heraldscotland.com/life-style/restaurant-reviews/joanna-blythman-singl-end-265-renfrew-street-glasgow.1387684803 it's right across from my boyfriends flat but i've only been in for coffee. looks really good.
i hope so cause i told the owner i would go for a meal there :(
its a really terrible location for a restaurant, i have to say
i guess i don't really look in at night or whatever
according to facebook
it looked good. Whoever thought a restaurant would do well in that location though is really, really naive
He's living just round the corner from me!? you guys need to pop round for some wine soon.
If so, can i deduce fomr the amount of cunts in lederhosen cutting about the city today that it may be oktoberfest this weekend?
where does one buy lederhosen as an emergency purchase (i.e. real shop, not online)?
and you're all so far away :'(
making model Dicks on Sticks ™® and get my finger out and organise something soon before christmas madness takes over. Awww rmember last year's xmas meat, when I ran out to M&S and got everyone crackers?
have some of the cracker toys sitting on my worktop. A spinning top. and some cards.
I'll make lasagne
(Need to be an Oasis fan to understand that one)
nOt convinced you're not actually a hologram.
Lo-Pan can confirm my existence, he's met me briefly.
your dirty talk needs work LP
good to have you back japes
West are going to call me back to see if they can fit us in, fingers crossed.
What kind of job is easy to pick up there? I have worked in pubs for a few years so I suppose I could do that again. Probably throw me out of the pub cos I'm english though wouldn't they innit.
There might be some office work in my firm, otherwise I can put you in touch with various pubs/ restaurants that are hiring. Which area of Glasgow are you looking to work in?
You are our neighbours and it's not your fault that nearly half of us would like self determination. Really happy to help you with job stuff if you give me some more info.
I don't mind where I stay, likely somewhere on the south side, Govan or Ibrox or maybe the west end if i could afford it. Will be staying in an air B'n'B for two weeks or so whilst I get a flat sorted.
