What do you go for?
do you insist visitors take their shoes off?
with no motherfuckin backs to save time putting them on and motherfucking taking them off
but in the winter I'll need a pair of house socks (usually those big socks from Fat Face that someone buys you for Christmas). I have slippers too but I'm not so keen on those.
I don't really like people traipsing their shoes through the living room but hey, I'm not going to insist.
else where will it end?
they let just the right amount of air circulate round my feet whilst also emitting and encouraging slap sound to remind me when I'm walking. it's much like wearing Flea on both feets
I may replace all of my footwear with flipflops
1.5% slippered (£2 IKEA jobbies)
Unless I'm going to bed or something you can't wear shoes for/to do.
Slippers can do one.
Should probably re-evaluate.
the nights are drawing in etc
as then they're ruined
i.e. when brushing teeth, when hunting round the flat for towel to have shower, when unable to sleep so sitting in the living room watching 3am TV
though when you're wearing them without socks, you've never felt so alive.
went out in my slippers, in the rain.
Never felt so alive.
Used to insist in a previous life but since dwelling with people who dinnae give a fuck I'm not so precious about it.
Always take my shoes off in other people's homes though.
I've just remembered dreaming about shampooing my carpets last night, in a house that wasn't my actual house and it was on a beach and had a turrets and a hidden roof door and then i drank neat gin and went to the Purple Turtle.
slipper socks in teh autumn / winter
shoes OFF in the house please, shoes on is tolerated but disapproved of on the ground floor, unacceptable on the stairs and above.
stocked up on big comfy hiking socks
Can't curl up on the sofa with shoes or even slippers on. Thick hiking / ski socks in the winter. Never barefoot unless it is really hot outside.
I don't even want to wear trousers.
tights mostly at the moment
At the weekend I get up and put on what I'm wearing that day, so socks if I'm wearing trousers or tights if I'm wearing a skirt or dress.
If I stay in my nightwear for a bit then I wear bare feet or slouch socks if it's cold (or slouch socks pulled up if it's very cold and I'm wearing pj shorts or a nightie)
I like people who don't take their shoes off till they go to bed. I think it's very proper
Smearing the dog piss and rat faeces of the mean streets into their houses.
and not if they clean their floors regularly and they have a doormat
i'm gonna fully convert to slippers, don't even care that i'm 23. Atm when i'm in my flat i usually just hang out in bed cos it's warm and i dont have to have awkward conversations with my flatmate
but he's 35, it probably looks cool or #normcore on a 23 year old.
Make sure you stop wearing them when you hit 30
Some big furry boot ones. I get really bad circulation in my hands and feet and my toes go numb quite often in the winter.
Bit weird to be wearing your shitty shoes in the house all the time.
depending on temperature. If guests are staying more then a few mins then shoes off.
I have outdoor slippers for the garden or nipping out to the car if I have forgotten something.
slippers otherwise, maybe just socks if I'm feeling rad.
Passionately agree with the belief stated up thread that slippers should not be worn without socks.
