Dead good both of them.
I miss James Gandolfini.
such a pile of poo. I know its supposed to be a spoof on rom coms but my god, wasn't even funny
and really liked it.
it's on 69%
but I did enjoy it
I completely get what they were trying to do but i just felt like it didn't work that well
I'm a fan of Wain and his crew so don't want to steal it straight up but it didn't seem to have a UK on demand release as far as I have seen.
Still makes me laugh when Marv gets electrocuted and briefly turns into a skeleton.
But it's too early for Christmas films.
(el bodio or whatever it is in Spanish) on the iPlayer. Fucking hell what a terrible terrible movie.
Enough Said's just a lovely little film. Nothing spectacular, but the central performances are so nicely done you get surprisingly involved in it.
The Lego Movie is great fun. Don't quite understand why people have gone SO nuts over it (the last 15 minutes are pretty stodgy), but it's great fun all the same.
Was way too plot-devicey for a film which was just so perfectly sweet and endearing as just a simple character study. Still loved it though.
Clunky it may be, but without it the film's just a story about 2 divorced folk in their 40's looking for love. Which is less interesting for sure.
The whole exploration of previous grievances creeping in could have just as easily been serviced by the character's talking to each other about them. They're both more than good enough to have pulled it off.
But there you go.
Was a such a great film, played so perfectly, that i could've done without most of the storyline! The kids off to uni thing was enough as it set a weird timescale running where you wanted their relationship to work before and after that event, as their lives were clearly going to change at that point.
Could've also done without the daughters friend thing. Not sure what that added.
Actually, would've been totally happy with it just being the two of them having a few meals together and that is that.
Made me cry like a muthafucker too.
Great film! (yet terribly written post on the subject)
Was pretty good. Fucking hate how every big blockbuster has to shoehorn in a love story, but was fun otherwise. Bit too Source Code-y though.
LEGO Movie is so good.
which was just way too cheesy.
i think i saw that just as a kiss before the end type thing rather than romantic though
hilarious literal title though, like when they translate films into Polish
but as soon as it looked like they were about to kiss i rolled my eyes.
he's starring in a reboot of The Mummy apparently. oy vey.
I didn't even understand what happened at the end to be honest.
actually, that would make MORE sense
it just abandons the rules previously established to make a happy ending. absolute shit of the worst kind, and such a shame because it was great up to then.
Blue Ruin - really good. Tense but not flashy.
The Descendants - enjoyed this. George Clooney is underrated, and his daughter in the movie was great.
Might watch it tonight, Clooney is easily one of my favourite actors.
Very good flick, that.
thought it was a lovely film. They did the sad bits really well, too...it wasn't cloying or anything.
Alexander Payne is yet to make a bad film... although he's not come close to the heights of Sideways, which is virtually flawless.
I think Sideways is my least favourite of his.
Think mine goes:
Sideways > About Schmidt > The Descendants > Nebraska > Election
Although there's barely a fag paper between The Descendants and Nebraska. I didn't like Election that much. Bit too silly.
heard very good things though!
It was good but a bit sneery
it's really boring for stretches though. so is about schmidt, actually.
Election worse than Nebraska and About Schmidt?
It's quite fun, I suppose. But there's not a lot else there. Can't say that about any other of his films (Sideways and About Schmidt are not just more poignant than Election, they're about 100 times funnier too).
Yup this guy needs more exposure!
I'm sure one day George will get the recognition he deserves.
Recorded then deleted Patton due to skybox memory shortage panic
Thought it was the best film I'd seen for ages. But after saying something like that to a few people they're all like 'oh ho...I bet it is' and then winking at me conspiratorially.
How do you get people to take your opinion as pure on films like that? The lesbian sequences are only 50%-60% of why I liked it so much.
One of the best performances I've seen in years and years.
But yeah, got round the perviness issue by watching it with my gf and never speaking of it in public.
all the spotlight seemed to fall on Lea Seydoux during the promotion for it, but she wasn't a patch on the girl who played Adele. Brilliant stuff.
Also, I think it's probably closer to 70%.
Not a lot of nuance
not much else.
Got 2 Guns and Homefront to watch next because I'm all about big nasty guns no plot funtimes
Really good. Really, really good. And I'm not a big Nick Cave fan and find the histrionic reverence he attracts to be almost obscenely irritating.
Brilliant take on a music documentary.
pretty good documentary on Robert McNamara. Shame it's just his thoughts and nothing to counter his arguments, but the subject matter is pretty big so it's fascinating stuff.
Tabloid is possibly my favourite Errol Morris, watch that y'all.
is Oblivion any good?
but i quite liked it.
Such a funny film.
get arificially insmeniated and then fall in love with some guy who should have been owen wilson but becasue he wasn't owen wilson ruined an otherwise perfectly delightful JLo work of art.
The back Up Plan, starring Jennifer Lopez and Alex O'Loughlin.
