No idea, but here's a tweet from lynch so I can fully morph into clickbait
what does it MEAN?
Literallt no one wants this. Literally.
that was cool
In eerie silence is amazing
at least star wars nerds will know someone feels worse than them.
another series would be lame though
Don't ever care if it turns out to not be that good
gave up after the woman with the eye patch started doing back flips. *shudders*
though I would agree that the 4 or 5 post-mystery solved episodes were pretty bad.
I'd be fine with another movie to cap off the show.
quite like twin peaks 👍
i`m definately down for being pulled back into that world
great series, can't wait for more of it
*mark frost's not done anything of any note since, save writing the (shite) fantastic four movies
*lynch is far, far from the top of his game
*cast are all dead (probably idk)
Basically it was shit when Lynch and Frost weren't around. And Lynch is as good as ever I think.
peter is dead but he died anyway in the bank vault*
but bob didn't die in the series. and who cares if pete's dead?
bob can "be" anyone though huh
the actor wont be there, so they'll either have to skate around it despite cooper being possessed by him or fudge it with CGI or something... dunno.
Like in Roseanne
pretty much inevitable when he hasn't made a film in almost ten years
oh yeah I forgot about that. I never watched it, wasn't it like 15 mins or something?
Can they find some excuse to cast Rashida Jones as Norma's daughter or something?
a young journalist who goes to twin peaks to investigate the disappearances or something
next week - were The Who actually members of Mossad?
what if its not good
perhaps it is you who is the one who should shut up
there's going to be more of it
what's the problem
fucking hate that guy
so it's obviously going to be brilliant
it with a 3rd series is redundant in my eyes.
Also, Twin Peaks series 1 is the best thing Lynch has ever done because someone else was involved in the creation/execution.
he's ever done because it was a completely singular, untainted vision.
But part of the reason Twin Peaks is a favourite of mine is the ending so unsure. Still when I hear the music again I know I'll be happy. Hope Chris Isaacs and David Duchovny make a reappearance.
Doubt this new batch of episodes will be anywhere near as good as either of the original series, but still cautiously optimistic
Maybe the allure of being back in the world of Twin Peaks was too strong to resist. I get that.
The first 20 episodes are the closest thing to televisual perfection that exists. Twin Peaks died when the killer was revealed. It went alarmingly downhill after that.
Could be awful, could be brilliant, but agree that season 2 was so all over the place (though 100% still worth watching) that there's not the legacy problem there might have been had it wrapped up much earlier. Also encouraged that the recent Fargo TV series was absolutely superb against all expectations.
My main concern is that the returning actors won't be able to pull off that perfectly-pitched oddness any more. Could be incredibly, incredibly cringeworthy to watch some of the former teens try and fail to pull that off if it doesn't work. Gonna need some very astute casting for their kids too, assuming that's a route they go down.
(the theme tune, ending with the iconic image of the Twin Peaks sign. There is stillness now, you can hear the sounds of this sedate, quiet little community... and then the rumbling of a motorcycle)
JAMES: I'm back, babeh
(JAMES plays a ten minute prog rock opus)
JAMES: Right, Hooty. What do you smell?
(an owl, HOOTY, spins out of the exhaust pipe of the motorcycle)
HOOTY: Bwaaark! I smell that there's a bank robbery afoot.
JAMES: That sounds like a crime!
(switch to a Dutch angle)
JAMES: A crime that I can--
(extreme close up)
(JAMES drives his motorcycle through the window of the bank)
OLD BANK MAN: We'd just finished rebuilding that bank. It took 25 years
JAMES: You mean there's no crime
(suddenly HOOTY removes his fake beak and reveals himself to be WINDOM EARLE)
WINDOM EARLE: Har har har har har
(JAMES shreds on his guitar for fifteen minutes)
If anything it's good that David Lynch is back directing anything, the fact that it's new Twin Peaks and that him and Frosty seem to have greater control is just the extra cherry on the pie
Events between the end of the original run and this new series are gonna be outlined in a book by Mark Frost.
I'll probably check it out. It'd definitely feel weird to be *reading* Twin Peaks, given it's so visually iconic. Has anyone here read any of the previous TP books (the Laura Palmer diary by Jennifer Lynch is s'posed to be really good), or Mark Frost's novels at all?
Considering how bad her films are I'm just amazed Jennifer Lynch has done something good
got my friend`s copy kicking about, might have to give it another read after i`ve got through tp [for the billionth time] and fwwm
they're a bit too on-the-nose, and there's some uncomfortable stuff in laura's, but yeah worth a read for a super fan
