what's the worst football ground you've been to?
For away fans the choice seems to be either to sit at the far end of the ridiculously narrow stand next to the main road from which the view is pretty poor or to go on the away terraces which are falling to bits.
However, it's probably a bit mean to have a pop at the place given that Hereford are in pretty dire straits at the mo.
soulless out-of-town half-full prepacked ground with no pubs anywhere near and open corners that led a massively biting wind in which, in fairness, kicks the shit out of a boxing day hangover (only go when i'm home for christmas)
Great lower league shithole. top memories of Lomano Lua-Lua and my dad making me drink bovril to shut me up during wednesday night games
They used the USP of being on a hill to make their pisser a wall with a hole at the bottom.
can still smell the piss rising, feel the self-loathing pretending to be a bolton fan. true shithole of a ground. got robbed by a bunch of traveller kids who lived on the site after it was knocked down too, had to wait outside the cinema for 3 hours til my mum picked us up, even beyond the grave it was a pit.
Travelling to it feels like you're going to the ends of the Earth. And when you get there it looks like the world has already ended.
Has a pitch to roof view ratio of about 1:6
for a game at Goodison years ago, when the the commentators were, for some reason, sat in a different position from normal which meant that they couldn't actually see one of the goals due to it being obscured by a pillar.
It's like watching a game through horizontal arrow slits
I went to a game at Morton's ground recently which was just sitting on a stone hillside open to the worst of the elements
I played there once. Took me so long to even find the place (go passed the caravan park, keep going for a couple of minutes)
At the top of a massive hill. Got hit round the head with a piece of wood.
Goole- Got attacked by a load of leeds fans
Though I haven't been since 1993, not long after it went all seater. Felt like we'd gone to watch the game at a motorway service station (except even worse value for money)
well I agree, the Shed is a joke.
I sat in the away end when Swansea were playing Derby County, this was a big cup game for them back then when Derby were in the Premiership, I have a feeling Swansea were even down as far as division 3. The toilets were fucking tiny, you had to shimmy past a wall of the backs of pissing men to have a piss. I never thought then that Swansea would ever even be within a sniff of the Premiership.
The only saving grace was that the portacabin with the urinals in it had windows at head height so you didn't miss any of the 'action' when you went for a gypsy's
feels like sitting in a tin can
