Mattress type (hi itsgits)?
draws underneath/storage space underneath?
I am moving. And need to buy a new bed. There aren't many beds that I like, it seems.
hopefully itsgits has a google alert set up for his name and can help you make some decisions xxx
Beds, though.. the only ones I seem to like require a 5 hour drive with a van. I don't have these luxuries.
They're the dog's bollocks.
Size: UK king
Mattress: Awesome memory foam and springs combo from Bensons for Beds for £500.
Frame: IKEA Malm King size (with the requiste extra 100mm on one side for books, phones ipads etc)
No storage underneath bar a complex mixutre of power bars.
Additional: we had the height on the low setting and moved it up a setting two weeks ago. What a difference.
could you get air ride suspension and have it like one of those cars I saw in that music video that one time?
It's an orthopaedic one. Pretty hard. Think it's a Sealy one but can't be 100% sure. Bought the mattress and frame at Dreams 3ish years ago. It's a wooden frame, no drawers.
because the bed is getting old, so it's on my mind
It's a SuperKing size extra thick memory foam with underbed storage, it's about 70cm from floor to top of bed
But it's got a big hump running down the middle, partly because of our sleeping positions, partly because the divan base is doing something odd. And the foam is getting a bit senile so it's not nearly as comfortable as it used to be.
I love having a big bed though - being able to sleep almost totally sideways is awesome
i tried out a circular bed a while back and i woke up in a completely different direction
it actually had a mirror above it, so basically ^this.
Please say black silk sheets too
are you happy now
One is a bit...what's the point?
How are you icwar?
Sienna pocket-sprung mattress
Drawer underneath on one side only
2x matching bedside tables
how's the headboard also
I love it. The headboard is great for sitting up a little bit to watch TV or something.
Actually, wish I'd got the fitted drawers on both sides.
no fitted drawers? Might as well be sleeping in THE BIN
Just not both.
and possibly the world. The bed is shit too.
It's to be replaced when we move but that seems like it will never happen (aaarrrgggghhhh) so I'm sleeping on it forever.
It's mainly just lumpy springs that is the issue and we no longer use it as an intercourse arena.
I really, really hate the noise of a mattress spring 'spanging' back into place when you roll/get off the bed. the mark of a shitty mattress
is it a ticketed event?
The New Intercourse Arena
with a wee little erection sticking out the basket floating over some sort of gladitorial arena, like in the TV series Gladiators.
Gonna have wet dreams tonight.
so I checked on my phone. Thought maybe the central thing was supposed to be a penis.
Feel very macho doing any DIY tbh. Not sure doing a flatpack bed is really DIY actually but it counts for me!
Memory foam double mattress. The warmest (thickest?) duvet they had in the whole shop, it's like a level 7 arctic mega duvet that's so great. Haven't washed my sheets since Christmas-ish.
Pocket sprung mattress (Warren Evans)
Ottoman so the whole frame lifts up for massive storage space underneath (really useful)
(On top of an Ikea Trysil, brown).
Dreams pocket spring mattress. Lovely stuff.
Neat way of shoving loads of crap under your bed
Obviously not stupid enough to buy an Ikea mattress though. Got one from somewhere else online. Just guessed which one looked comfiest and hoped for the best
No idea where it's from, can't remember. Don't think it's a fancy mattress- I have memory foam pillows and i HATE them, so I don't think I fancy memory foam mattress.
it's comfortable but not as comofrtable as my one at my folks' ohuse, altohugh it's a lot smaller and so I'll stick with what I've got.
No drawrers underneath, but lots of space ot sore, although I don't store because i have a dust allergy and need ot hoover and mop under the bed every week or so. You would not believe the moanutn of hair i get out from under there. I could knit a wig if only I could knit.
Pocket sprung with memory foam
Under bed storage access via lifting the bed frame up at the foot of the bed
My bed is ace.
£350, down from £450 in their new year sale. It replaced a twelve year old cheapo job from Argos.
Frame: Twelve year old cheapo job from Argos. Dark wood. Bit of a shelf thing going on around the edge. Headboard provides a disappointing amount of support for any leaning. But who cares about that when the mattress is so boss?
Underneath: couple of pairs of footwear and some exercise dumbbells.
Duvet: One of those two-part differing thickness jobbers. Does the trick.
Pillows: One each. Wafferthin.
PEOPLE WHO have divan beds - ha ha, you skirt-sheeted shitrats.
No bed beneath it.
Can't afford a bed.
Mattress is quite nice though. I had enough money to get a good one.
Apart from there being no storage space below the mattress I quite like being low down. Room seems bigger.
Can't be bothered to check the make, but it's pocket sprung with a layer of memory foam or something.
No idea what kind of mattress - probably a cheap one
Double pillow (of course)
Nothing underneath bed
You've changed, DiS.
Well, maybe the last one on the list.
Well, maybe the last one on the list. But that doesn't count as sleeping.
