i feel numb
she was so important to me as a child
I always quite liked her
is there an article confirming?
Read an article recently where she was saying the people of gaza deserve to die, remember think it was a bit rich for her to be talking about people that should be dead.
lol i didn't hear about this originally
on reflection, i'm glad she's dead
but wtf https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-5Q7yuaXjM
especially if they're not posted in the right place !!!
“Oh my God! Tell that to the people in Hiroshima, When you declare war, you declare war. They started it. We now don't count who's dead. You're dead, you deserve to be dead. Don’t you dare make me feel bad about that.”
“They were told to get out. They didn’t get out. You don’t get out, you are an idiot. At least the ones that were killed were the ones with low IQs....NOT!”
classic bit o' comedy
Palestine children to play with
perhaps I missed the good stuff
Going to play some of my dvds of her doing whatever it was she did.
or did she just get famous for being a horrible old person?
rip manky old lady.
but she was way off the Thatcher threshold. rest in peace and all that.
But yeah I'm not going to be happy about an old woman dying
but I only ever saw her in stand-up. assumed she was just super-harsh on men (fine with that) and her own vagina.
Which is a bit odd, given how much of a gay icon she was.
as for that nasty anti-Palestine comments, I've known a few otherwise lovely Israelis who would turn on a dime when it came to that subject.
I surmise that there's an ingrained violent defensiveness tied into the regional religious hostility that permeates even otherwise reasonable people.
I fucking surmise, jesus. sorry. like that isn't the most obvious deduction.
top hit for me: played herself in an episode of curb. know the name like, but don't think i've really ever seen her in anything.
weird to see people defending people who say an ethnic cleansing is deserved.
She was one of the funniest comedians of the last century and genuinely paved the way for women/gays in popular culture.
The context around her Palestinian outburst was that journalists kept asking her "as a Jew" what do you think about Gaza. No excuse really for what she said, but it's an explanation at least. Besides, that bitch insulted EVERYONE, living or dead, so it's important to try and keep it in perspective.
I like that she would most likely be laughing at all the jokes about her death if she could somehow see them.
Anyway, watch the last 10 minutes of her comedy Roast. It's perfection.
"no excuse really....heres an excuse"
Great stuff, girls.
I've met her and loads of other famous people too!
like many have mentioned she blazed a trail and her acerbic wit made me laugh many times.
Kind of fascinated by her and a bit sad but very conflicted as she was obviously a pretty dreadful person in a lot of ways.
