Since there is very little else on of interest for a week or so.
LVG says it's all going to his expectations.
They were ticking along nicely, he was getting some respect back, and now he's gone and Steve Bruced it. Everyone knows what he's like when he actually has good players. Gone by the end of the season.
I hereby deny it.
Saw that one of the Norwegian players has called our glorious captain 'chubby'. Actually hope they do give us a hell of a beating.
Wake me up next saturday
I'm absolutely cacking it over our (Scotland's) jaunt to Dortmund on Sunday. We've got a pretty decent-ish young squad, though without any decent defenders.
Get the feeling the Germans'll be in the mood for a party. 4-1 Germany.
cuz apparently, like Canada, we wear Scotland traccies at all times so that people know exactly who we are.
I'm sure we will get pumped but I mean, remember how close we came the last couple times we played world champions? THAT WAS GOOD WASN'T IT
Oooh Christian Dailly...
That Spain game was so nearly magnificent.
van gaal mugs off spurs
paul parker mugs off rooney
some norwegian mugs off rooney
Too scared to play your children against are ya, Norway? You cowards!
*smashes Norwegian window*
Take that out of your oil fund!
that Welbeck scored a hat-trick on his Arsenal debut. Incredible scenes. Probably means that even my subconcious is being needlessly defensive about him signing.
you and your thissing
Who was the last player to score a Premier League hattrick for Arsenal?
(that was my guess but I've looked it up and I was wrong)
I genuinely considered putting Jermaine Pennant and David Bentley as answers.
Amazingly I've completely forgotten that game, sounds like it was a lot of fun.
MORE TRIVIA: Who's Arsenal's longest serving current player?
Seem to remember his name being about for a while.
think that might be Theo as well - been there about 8 years!
unless it's Diaby :(
Someone's been there a week longer (I checked wikipedia, when I was told this I was told 9 days).
i hope not. bendtner?
But someone's been there 9 days longer.
Theo is first on my list. I think we need to get together and compare lists - when's good for you?
Theo's definitely the hattrick one though. Been a crap morning so far, I've been suckered into two clickbait threads and confused in here.
Theo: hat trick hero, 2 and half years ago
Diaby: long-serving veteran of the physio room (assuming Arsenal actually have one)
is he going to play this season?
(For the under-21s, somewhat inexplicably).
(he hasn't even done his SATs yet)
In other news, the thug who merked him in the first place is now playing in the fifth tier of the A League.
I'm sure someone on one of these threads once claimed (with some degree of certainty) that he worked in a call centre in Sunderland.
His career suggests he is not too good at football (imagine being let go by a non-league club when your brother is the manager)
not sure why
Theo vs Newcastle?
That's my real answer.
Or just a normal phrase referencing username?
On Diego Costa: "The ball is an allied, thus he fondles it, treats it well and never otherwise. It has been this way throughout his short but – foreseeable – promising career. This is so much true that, if it could talk, it would probably complained when, with 15 years old and already so talented, he wanted to shoot it into the air and quit football to start working at his uncle’s store in S. Paulo, Brazil."
but fucking hell this looks weird
His torso is only marginally wider than his head.
It's the kit.
That bloody kit.
PUMO have a lot to answer for.
My work blocked whatever filth that was.
It's going to be much worse when he gets roped into some social-media bants with the rest of your goons.
in all of the photos.
'I envisaged playing in this team,' as a statement it's probably about as far as you can get from 'a dream come true', basically on a level with 'I had a nightmare about this exact scenario.'
this calls for a tv documentary
Don't have time to take part in the discussion, but y'all knock yourselves out.
all Premier League players were rubs at the World Cup
Here are the teams that had the most PL players (ish):
England (too many)
Colombia (1 but West Ham)
+ some others
but last year actually Spain could have done it because:
- - - - - - de Gea - - - - - -
- - - - Arteta
- - Cazorla - - Silva
- - - Negredo - - - - -
- Torres - probably someone else too
3 other defenders
As long as we've comprehensively proved England wouldn't stand a chance.
He's the Spanish Dunno
could nearly play their full XI
Only about 5 countries have enough players for an eligible XI. Of them France could play
Which would do OK.
I know, don't be so silly.
They couldn't win it without Micah Richards. Or that lad in la Liga.
Bacuna / Roncrete / Janmaat / Pieters / van Aanholt
Anita / Fer / Blind
van Ginkel / Vorm / Tiendalli / some Chelsea loanees
My word. Thought he could've done a decent job with her a few years back, but not sure if she'd bounce back to a decent level now, really.
regretted posting this immedietly. Then say it had already been mentioned up above. Nightmare.
but there was no bants up there
...the BBC used to tell you what channel you could watch the match on, even if it was ITV. But they don't tell you any more - just tell you the BBC coverage.
Petty, the BBC. Petty.
Internal market... neo-liberalism... social justice warriors... something something... Moyes sacked!
and OvertakenByTractors is nowhere to be seen!
but my initial reaction to seeing the England side for tonight was "aye, i might watch that, y'know".
Palace have signed Andy Johnson.
Potentially we (Palace!!!!) could play AJ and Kevin Doyle as a front two. If only it was 2004.
possibly the stupidest man in the world, and that's even taking into account he was a footballer
Can anyone tell me why Jack Wilshire is in the team? I haven't seen him do anything impressive in an Arsenal shirt or an England shirt.
Phil Jones seriously needs to learn not to defensively head balls towards opposing attackers too.
Jordan Henderson looks worryingly like Gerrard in an England shirt.
There MUST be.
He is a player
The entire top tier seems to be shut.
Whoever signed off the rebuilding of that stadium wants fucking shooting. The only way of getting the public back behind the national team is to go on the road again.
Hope they miss.
Rooney is still on the pitch,
Rooney and Wilshere never, ever should.
he's looking good this season tho.
this Welbeck guy looks alright. It's a good job Arsenal keep producing these exciting young players
of a nation with a comprehensive welfare state.
But it looks like Rooney has saved England once again.
Rooney's hollow success (poor performance masked by goal from a penalty) reflects and reinforces the hollow successes (GDP growth from dubious sources, concentrated in a small fraction of the population) of our nation's economy and so 'saves' England from having to confront its shortcomings.
and it's getting boring
The BBC said he was possibly MotM though...?
there's so much dross elsewhere
he's great isn't he
Imagine having to go back to Manchester & pass it to Rooney
AND a little dink over the keeper for his goal. I hope Phil Jones breaks him in training.
guaranteed angry lunge leading to Di Maria decapitation
only watched the last half an hour of the england game but the difference when rooney went off and welbeck came on tells you exactly why Utd fans didnt want Welbz to go.
really hope Rooney will be the player LVG makes an example of, but fear it will be mata.
Managers seem enchanted by Rooney for some reason. Hodgson loves him, Moyes bent over backwards for him, and it only took a couple of decent preseason performances for LVG to get sucked in.
Seems Fergie cottoned on towards the end, but it was too late... :(
