WHAT a knob. Don't let the door hit you on the way out Malky.
But the quotes they're running with are so terrible that they must have fairly strong evidence to back them up.
Mackay to Leeds in 18 months or so.
It was before the mail story broke. Wasn't specific allegations though. Malky and the other guy sound like really awful people. It kind of makes his unfair dismissal seem a bit more fair. Along with all the texts apparently there's suspicion of bungs and financial irregularities.
Had some t shirts printed already
Utterly baffling, all of this. Abhorrent, yes, but downright weird as well.
just flat-out hilarious. Not offensive in the least, to my mind. The racism and sexism is pretty dodgy. But I think he should get a pass for the homophobia just for the quality of the material.
Like he's watched one of those videos they had in America in the 60s about how the homosexuals are trying to recruit him and is properly scared as a result.
the "independently minded young homo" did make me properly cackle out loud.
Sadly the attitude of Mackay and Moody isn't really that rare in football. I've met a few coaches of professional clubs (couple at Premier League sides) and they've made similar sort of jokes.
I'm talking about the racism stuff here especially.
remember after solskjaer took over he said something like there was more to the mackay sacking than meets the eye, maybe that explains it
AT whoever uses it. A bit like "orientals". A term so outdated it's almost moved past being offensive and now just bestows a bit of sadness on whoever is tragic enough to use it.
Not where I am anyway. Heard that one in the office a week or so ago. Definitely pretty common in some circles.
and only (from what i can remember) in reference to the chippy.
Saying how Mackay used to racially abuse him on the training pitch, but he was too scared to speak up. All pretty awful stuff.
Being as the FA let Scudamore off, I can't imagine anything will come of it though, apart from maybe Mackay having to go abroad for his next job.
Just on those texts, the sexist stuff seems equally as bad as Scudamore. If Mackay gets done for it (which he should), it could appear the FA line on it is that sexism on its own is ok, but chuck in some racism and homophobia too and thats not cool.
Used to see him in the Tesco local fairly often. His eyes were always full of HATE.
was Peter Grant's testimonial - Celtic vs Bayern Munich. Celtic won 1-0 (as far as I can remember), and the goal was scored by none other than Malky MacKay. That's that memory SULLIED.
how many people knew about him and for how many years?
some managers who signed this prick in his playing days: aidy boothroyd, alan pardew... just putting that out there
basically allowed the two responsible to resign, I'm not sure what happened in the end.
Let's get this witch hunt on the road.
As for the texts: really 'old school' racism and homophobia. Almost laughable rather than offensive
of Malky using his phone. Further proof, if it were needed.
Brilliant from the picture desk.
Just imagining him sending a load of horrible shit in all of the pictures.
"Just answer the question please."
*turns to jury* "He has a phone, ladies and gentlemen."
Scholes thinks Man Utd are fucked.
Honestly, don't think I've ever watched him play.
Tell me about him Norwich fans.
I really like him, not surprised to see him go because he's too good for championship. He can be a bit lazy tracking back at times but he's a pretty creative central midfielder, plus he did this:
Just assumed he was some sort of box-to-box type player based on him scoring that header against Chile.
Sadly, I think he'll take the place of Faurlin and we'll keep playing Joey cunt Barton and he'll take all the free kicks and be shit at them. He scored a great one in pre-season so now his ego is pumped. Twat.
so can be used for either, but given he came on as a sub in that role for Holland, he's more suited to being a play-maker
Mutch, Caulker, Fer, even Remy got relegated with you.
but, at least we can sell them if we do get relegated.
Unlike when we boshed out loads of cash on wages for the likes of M'Bia, Granero, Park and Remy. Remy was the only one we could have sold and not made a loss.
Don't think we'll get relegated.
I'm excited for our next signing - Eduardo Vargas.
Balotelli to Liverpool looks like it's on.
Considering how much business we've done this window Balotelli and Sanchez are the only players we've gone after who we genuinely wouldn't have had a hope of signing without Champions League football.
to be a pool fan. God, I miss exciting times.
It's a bit like watching a drunk man with a bazooka. It could be amazing, but it's going to be an expensive embarrassing mess if it all goes wrong.
Am I right, lads? Eh? Eh?
He'll do something ridiculous like start body-popping during a minute's silence for Hillsborough and be chased out of the city.
who was the goalie who was smirking like he'd just farted during a previous minutes silence?
Who showed up in the World Cup this year iirc. Still dreadful.
Completely disruptive, lazy, occasional genius and now when he gets sent off in an important game I can laugh about that too.
Got subbed off for being completely ineffective once and sent off for getting two yellow cards within 15 minutes of coming on in the second half the other time.
Not all but a fair chunk of the time he's a genuine detriment to the team he's in. Presumably Stevie won't be letting him take penalties either which nullifies his one reliable trait.
Admittedly I've only watched him a few times since then, but he looks a lot more complete and a much better finisher. I've learned to reconcile myself with brilliant but combustible players before, plus we're desperate for another striker so I'm #teambalotelli until it all goes catastrophically wrong.
They don't really ask him to do anything other than finish any more.
A good natural finisher to go with the thousand forks of Coutinho, Sterling, Lallana etc in case Sturridge breaks. As long as he scores a few he can spend the rest of his time shambling around the penalty box Inzaghi-style and I'd be happy.
Mario back in the country, not with us, in a position to wind the fuck out of Stevie G and Sturridge. The only regret is that we will never get to see him and Suarez together.
"This is my last day in the Milanello" - Balotelli. It's all going very quickly.
Maybe Guy as a marauding left back.
Joe Lally out wide
Get used to it
I bet there's a few team wanks over that one in the office.
Can't fucking wait, really hope he doesn't go straight for a contrite apology.
Also, he deserves our thanks if he's opened the door for Tim Sherwood.
End of the drive, wife and family, perhaps even a gay person to shake hands with.
turning up at cardiff city stadium with a bottle of whisky and a gun type scenario
Maybe I'm hardened from working in various scottish football clubs over the years, but I have definitely heard worse. Which doesn't make it right of course, but this is a lot more standard than you'd like to think. These guys work in football- they're not nobel winning rocket scientists.
Obviously the key is not getting found out that you're a bigotted thick twat.
They're almost the work of somebody who has heard a joke amnd is trying to repeat it but getting the punchline not quite right.
and they're not funny, any of them.
has its charms, from a satirical 'fuck the police' angle.
It's a disraceful industry and altohugh it's increassingly getting better and mroe respectful, certain of the old brigade are as bad as ever.
is that this kind of attitude can't exist in an environment of simple tolerance. it needs explicit approval and participation. so i want to know who has been joining in with mackay during his career, encouraging this kind of talk.
Education. Education. Education.
about the sniffiness we treat foreign clubs with when their fans resort to racist chanting, and the faint ridicule Sol Campbell got when he said it's still endemic in the national game. The game's cleaned up its public persona in the last two decades but it's clear there's still lots of nastiness bubbling away under the surface. The slender hope is that if it's continually reinforced that racism is not ok then the worst of it will die off with the old guard.
We've cleaned up our public persona, still oodles of racists, some more closeted than others.
Except for everyone every associated with Arsenal.
Which ends up at about £96k a week I think, which surely can't be right. Would assume it's going to be somewhere between that and the £200k our Manchester correspondent will suggest he's on at about 6pm this evening.
then it's about right.
so it'll be about double.
Seems more likely.
suddenly the worlds biggest voice on it. He even on BT Sport now.
She's worse than Malky, in some ways
I think we can all agree that she was making a fair point, albeit one that could have been made without mentioning anyone by name.
The situation she was describing is one quite similar to mine in some ways, so it sparked something in me hearing it spoken about like that.
I hadn't realised. i hope that wasn't too triggering for you. x
I'm sorry for telling you to fuck off.
I think you are really clever and I was just being mean.
imagine that comment being somewhere else.
i'm not very itk though
that everybody knew. The person is out in certain circles but clearly not in all and it was compeltely wrong for me to name him. I asked niki to delete, which she very kindly did, as I have no desire to out anybody nor to risk DiS getting into trouble. As a lawyer I should have known better. I had my lawyer hat off because it frequently makes my head itch and bottom line is I didn't think it through. And i am a massive fascist obvs.
against those who have implied he was gay in the past, so yep, it does seem he may not be entirely comfortable with being outed whether he is gay or not.
althouigh 8 years ago and was (obviosuly) never tested in court and settled for effectively kjust legal fees.
I do agree wiht you in princinple however. Pretty sure I've been quite clear down thread that i shouldn't have mentoned his name so if you dont mind I'd like to stop self flagellating now cheers bye.
We are talking about a full back which many people claim is gay, not just PO. And she doesn't know him personally anyway (right PO?). Is her saying that really outing someone?
And why am I now not writing his name either. Can I be super-injuctioed?
I don't think it's very fair to say they are, even if you have evidence (for want of a better term) that they are. I think everyone should have the right to publicly identify however they wish. Obviously it would be nice if there were a situation everyone can be totally open in public, but until that time (and even if we ever do get there really) it's not really on to publicly speculate about it. Because in the current climate, it can have pretty unpleasant ramifications, and there are clearly personal reasons people may have for concealing something like that, if that is indeed what's happening.
Don't mean this post to sound confrontational. I can understand why it happens. Just trying to provide some context for why I think it's best not to do it.
Perhaps he'll be a UKIP candidate in the general election next year in some sleepy, small shit town.
UniPorn is a woman
Brendan loves a challenge doesn't he?
If anyone can get the most out of players with ‘bad attitudes’ it’s him. Managed to calm Suarez in his final year for us, changed Raheem Sterling from lippy little boy into the class act he is now, and these apparent problems that Sturridge supposedly had at City and Chelsea haven’t really affected his career at Liverpool. They’re the only players I can think of who he’s managed for us with any kind of behavioural issues. They’ve also been 3 of the best attacking players in the land. No coincidence.
For the fee we’re hearing, this would be a fantastic transfer for Liverpool to pull off. It would solve our final squad shortage issue. We currently have one recognised forward. Any team wanting to finish in the top 4 needs at least 2.
He’s obviously not as good as Sturridge, but he’s fcking miles better than Fabio Borini or our third choice striker who doesn’t currently exist. The fact we’re signing loads of players for positions we badly need them in, four of which are proven in the Prem, is delightful. Call it “doing a Spurs” if you want, but I’d rather be splashing the cash on people to replace Aspas, Cissokho and Luis Alberto than spending about £50m quid on a pair of left-backs.
"Well *gulp* Mario is a complex young man, but *gulp* complexity often goes hand in hand with genius, y'know. I've always thought *gulp* that if he had the right path, he would develop into a beautiful man, and I simply *gulp* showed him the right path. The supporters here appreciate that, and Mario appreciates them. It's a mutual bond, a kind of *gulp* love, that only those associated with this club can feel"
- the group
- what we're trying to do here
- the way we work
Otherwise, average. Well done.
Might just be being forgetful but didn't his problems amount to not wanting to be played out of position?
Also, I'm not having Suarez in that list. He didn't bite/racially abuse anyone for 3 quarters of a season before biting someone on international duty while still a Liverpool player. He'd hardly been reformed by Brendan.
But when we signed him the talk was that he was a strop who would sulk if you played him on the wing, and a player who left City cos he was more interested in being a rich Londoner than staying to fight for his place.
Regardless of what Suarez did after September 2013 behaviourally, he was the best player in the world between then and the summer. I’m not saying Brendan reforms characters. Suarez is still a shitbag, Sterling probably zooms around in a stupid car like a quilt, and Sturridge still does that dance. My point is – under Brendan, all of these players have developed into extremely good footballers. If Balotelli confirms himself in the cult of Brendan, there’s no reason he won’t follow suit.
What does zooming around in a car 'like a quilt' entail?
Lucas Silva (Cruzeiro) to Spurs, Chelsea or Man Utd
Fabio Borini (Liverpool) to Inter
Mario Balotelli (AC Milan) to Liverpool
Fernando Torres (Chelsea) to AS Roma
Mattia Destro (AS Roma) to Chelsea
Cheick Tiote (Newcastle) to Lokomotiv Moscow
Jordan Rhodes (Blackburn) to Hull
Xabi Alonso (Real Madrid) to Man Utd
Clement Chantome (PSG) to Everton or Arsenal
Lukas Podolski (Arsenal) to Inter or AC Milan
Jordon Ibe (Liverpool) to Derby
Frederico Fazio (Sevilla) to Spurs
Paul Pogba (Juventus) to Man Utd, Chelsea or Bayern Munich
Benjamin Stambouli (Montpellier) to Swansea or Fiorentina
Vlad Chriches (Spurs) to AS Roma
Matija Nastasic (Man City) to AS Roma
he's not going to get his chance this season unfortunately.
Still would rather see him playing in the PL, he could definitely do a job at somewhere like Villa or Sunderland.
He's coming to Bolton save us from relegation, just like he did with Brum. I won't hear anything else of it.
To buy a cake for yaya
Well it looks like we dodged a bullet with MacKay, maybe we should have got rid of Moody earlier.
Pulis didn't like having a DoF, and it may have been part of the reason he left, also yesterday morning Tim Coe, our chief scout also left to go to Brighton. His and Moody's roles did overlap a bit, and now it looks like we'll have neither Pulis, Moody or Coe.
The timing of the MacKay announcement does seem a bit suspect, Tan has had months to announce it but seems to have waited till MacKay was appointed before it comes to the public eye. Don't get me wrong I'm not condoning what MacKay and Moody did, if it is true, but surely if he was so outraged it would have made the public domain before now?
Cardiff are also taking us to court to sue for £20million for them being relegated due to the leaked teamsheet incident.
get one over on him after the spying stuff.
Great work by Tan
I'd have thought that he'd want to be a complete barsteward and send the FA and Palace the dossier once MacKay had been appointed.
Imagine the legal fireworks that would have started, the impossibility for Palace of firing him and getting a new manager before the window shuts. Assuming revenge is his motivation rather than his social responsibility to expose racism, sexism et al, he's missed a trick there.
no pay-off this way? or would this constitute a non-payable sacking offence? probably. ah well. this is still pretty dramatic
It would have wasted valuable time- they'd have probably had to demand he resign, then put him on gardening leave, then seek legal counsel on whether he could be dismissed for offences committed before he worked for them... all of this would have wasted energy and time when what they would need is an immediate replacement for both the manager and the DofF.
And given that MacKay may have no chance of a football-related job again, you'd imagine he'd have tried to fight to make them pay up his contract.
The real sting in this whole tail may be if Palace do get relegated and next year Cardiff are successful in suing them for their relegation due to the leaking of their line-up last year. There's a few if's involved but there could be a relegated club having to pay a helluva lot of money in compensation. It's a stretch but you can bet the Malaysian Blofeld will be aiming to do that to them.
Cardiff sent the dossier last week apparently ( before Tony left Palace)
So not related!
Real Madrid have said he can leave
LVG has specifically cited Di Maria by name as the type of player we're lacking
Ed Woodward has been working from home this week awaiting a Virgin engineer to install his broadband
so he is preparing a bid on Notepad
But it's very well-sourced hearsay, was circulating amongst lots of the Manchester based journalists/fanzines etc earlier in the week.
Where are United going to play Di Maria in your mad 3-5-2 nonsense?
Please, please make him play as a left wing back.
And spend £100 million. Would be amazing.
So they'd play him there or outwide in a 3-5-2
Imagine he'd be wide or left-sided central in a 433 in an ideal world
Januzaij Mata Di Maria
3rd round fixtures January 3rd 2015
Crystal Palace vs Cardiff
Would love it.
If you typed that whilst finger jabbing Keegan style
Exactly the kind of guy to get arsey about having been second choice
Palace have lost their manager, chief scout and DofF. I can't see them wanting to fire the existing coaching staff too (seemingly a pre-requisite for the appointment of Sherwood and his team)
And I think Sherwood will think the job is less favourable than the one he applied for around a week ago.
But he's really played a blinder against Malky here, got rid of him with dignity when he was making noises about taking him to court, letting everyone know what a piece of work he really was just at the right moment and still protecting the club from the apparant bribery mess Malky had going on too. (citation needed) (cwbaft)
of him being the innocent, talented manager nonsensically sacked by insane mastervillain Tan looks even more pathetic than it did at the time doesn't it. There was something extremely Steve Kean about the whole Andreas Cornelius fiasco.
Although given Solskjaer then spunked however much it was on that anonymous Norwegian that happened to be on his agent's books it doesn't seem like Cardiff have learnt their lesson.
for a net price roughly similar to that of Cornelius, who between them have contributed a single goal to Cardiff since January. What a guy.
You have to always place a transfer in its context.
Rodgers has correctly identified that this season is a launchpad for Liverpool. Winning the league is unlikely with Chelsea and City not being in transition and having strengthened and Pool having extra Champions League matches. What matters is challenging, but crucially solidifying them as a top-4 club. With Arsenal stronger, that essentially means making sure United don't get in the top 4. Achieving that will start to castrate United over the next few seasons, as players may think twice about joining them and Liverpool's position strengthens.
Basically to that end, they need a striker and they need one now. Someone who will get goals and has a powerful influence on the game. Ideally he'd like to loan Balotelli as a 1 year no-risk stop-gap, but apparently Milan are shrewd to that move and have made the fee for a year's loan exorbitant.
It'll be a test of his man management, but it's the right choice. Keeps the club where it is, whilst the young talent he's bought (Origi, Markovic, Can, Manquillo, etc) get to develop.
Far worse management would be to neuter Sterling and Sturridge by putting too many demands on them to be regularly scoring or through making them play too many matches and seeing them develop niggly recurring injuries (thighs, groin strains, etc)
Looking forward to more philantrophy / exploding his house shenanigans
Not content with blowing the country away with the best football seen in a generation, our silly 6-3 scorelines or our comedy falls, we're bringing the biggest character the Premier League has known back to our shores.
was hoping it was gonna be Craig Stadler
"I accept challenge for ...AL..S..... nomination?"
you didn't mention the bonus carlton cole with super slo mo.
Kouyate's accent is strong, in all the ways.
If you'd like to reminisce about that time Adebayor was scared of being in the wall with paulinho last season, there is a reconstruction here:
What a guy.
in this one:
They had, for some bewildering reason, circled Wayne Rooney in their stills from this.
All his tweets are gold (you can read from the bottom up, there's only about 30 of them):
kik would scoff at such amateurish fare
spurs are losing to some team from cyprus
but think he'll be a good buy for Liverpool. He's obviously a player who needs to be loved, and Brentdan will rub his face and tickle his balls and tell him he's better than Pele ever was, so it seems a natural fit.
The mad thing about Mario is that he's an infinitely interesting footballer, when at his best at least, but the off-the-pitch stuff's a bit GARLIC BREAD isn't it. For me that LOLotelli stuff sorts of masks the fact that he can be a ruddy good player.
Expect he'll pop up with a goal or two against us, but more importantly he'll be a player our other rivals fear. He'll go to places like Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge and take valuable points off them sort of teams that will hopefully help us indirectly.
Ultimately, the lad played a big part in us winning both the cup and the league, and for that we'll always love him.
which means that hopefully a lot of the youthful silliness will have worn off. What makes a player a loveable scamp at 18 makes them seem like a psycho or desperately sad when they're older. See Barton, Wiltshire etc.
Anelka or Barton-ish.
He will still be maddogging it when he retires.
"The LMA wish to clarify the position in relation to recent reports and speculation regarding matters alleged to have arisen during Malky Mackay's time at Cardiff City FC.
"In the course of a search by the club in early 2014 of 10,000 private text messages sent to and from another member of staff during Mr Mackay's employment at Cardiff, in relation to other matters, it emerged that Malky had, it seems, sent a couple of one line texts that were, with the benefit of hindsight, very regrettable and disrespectful of other cultures.
"These were two text messages sent in private at a time Malky felt under great pressure and when he was letting off steam to a friend during some friendly text message banter. That said, Malky believes he could and should have conducted himself better on these two isolated occasions. The precise details need to remain private for the time being until any FA process is complete."
'with the benefit of hindisght' !!!
Is this saying that ALL the alleged insults (gay snakes, 'chinkies', bouncing on some woman's breasts etc) came in two messages?!
That's quite a bit of steam to let off, as if all his racist, sexist, homophobic remarks just evaporated from his consciousness all at once after a gruelling Welsh derby. Wtf is this from the LMA?
is put on some trackie bottoms, put the tv on, open a bottle of red and text some hate speech to my pals
I had to go on the LMA's site to check that was real. They're gonna get slaughtered for that hopefully.
The organisation representing an almost entirely white profession dismisses racism as banter that we all might participate in while stressed. Well done everyone involved.
Might As Well.
Cavani is too expensive in wages and transfer fee. Don't see it happening.
And Wenger will feel that signing Cavani would require him to offload Podolski first.
2-5 dye his mohawk red
4-5 turn up on the bench for his first game wearing a false perm wig and 'tache
3-2 after scoring his opening goal for the club, put in a set of false comedy vampire teeth and reveal a a T-shirt with a picture of Luis Suarez on it saying "Fangs for the memories"
5-1 appear uninvited as "Santa" in the Liverpool One shopping complex before Christmas and cause a riot by handing out £50 notes to children
7-1 appear naked and painted on the front cover of a Sunday newspaper magazine pretending to be a lambanana
10-1 pay to take the place of Ringo in the Sergeant Pepper waxwork at the Beatles Museum for a day
12-1 hijack one of the "Yellow Duckmarine" tourist submersibles and race it madly around the city for half an hour before driving it into the Albert Dock
25-1 buy John Lennon's childhood home from the National Trust then inadvertently burn it down letting off fireworks to coincide with the cannons at the start of "All You Need is Love"
You're all fucking wankers... between the poofs and the lesbians that are too ugly to get laid by a guy that post on this site...and don't even get me started on the level of education of some of you people... I mean sometimes it's like reading a collection of writings from a Down's syndrome convention..
Aw... don'worry... just banter
- for making sure no black man would even want to be a manager
- for doing your bit for KickOutRacism
- for showing that MacKay is not an isolated case
You could have communicated it through a statement released quoting MacKay. I assume for legal reasons he didn't want to do that. But what you've done has made you accomplices and a laughing stock. So congratulations.
I thought Ant was posting for a moment there
