Has anyone here actually read it?
Is it any good?
one of our bookclub girls read it for a dare. Predictably dreadful. I will undoubtedly watch the film when it comes out.
had some choice quotable moments in it. Good anticipation at the beginning, but then so little happens. Still racy enough that I'm always surprised to see people reading it openly on the tube.
'His lips are parted - he's waiting, coiled to strike. Desire - acute, liquid and smoldering, combusts deep in my belly'
- probably located at the base of my medulla oblongata near where my subconscious dwells - comes the thought: He's here to see you.
"his voice is warm and husky like dark melted chocolate fudge caramel... or something."
"Acute, liquid and smoldering" is pretty much the most cack-handed description for desire I've ever read
basically, she's saying he's cum in her.
If desire combusts then it's gone. When something combusts it catches fire and is destroyed.
The author, had she a better grasp of English, may have meant the word 'ignites' which is the act of catching fire without the implication of destruction.
QED. It's shit.
think I just about hit the first sex scene, which was dull. Then got to the bit where it was reciting the contract they make, and I questioned why I was spending my time reading fictional spurious legal documents and put it down.
It really is terrible.
she says its craply written, its lying around, can't be arsed
der der der der and then this happened
der der der and then I felt like that
and then that happened
and something was like this and something else as like that
staggering at how little content is in it and it's 500 pages. Utter bilge, the worst book I have ever read. Ever.
have you not read Every Review of it Ever?
everyone was talking about it though, so I wanted to see what the fuss was about
(also it was funny and took about an afternoon to read)
A few mates have said it's really vanilla/mild compared to other erotic reads.
issue as well - in that it is written by someone who knows little about it and it ends up just being abuse.
every one i visit has at least five copies (and half-a-shelf of assorted Jo Nesbo novels).
