and ride into the girls' flat on their marble dog (or whatever it is)
Worst? Dunno, one of the early ones.
Worst: The one where it turned out to be "water and light"
Worst is obviously any episode where Marie steals stuff.
But since she didn't know what was going on until six episodes from the end or so, she couldn't help but be a bit peripheral
It's a great series, with some howling bad episodes. Not the shit monster ones, I quite like those (Preying Mantis woman? YEH!).
Where the Wild Things Are - Buffy and the worst character (Riley) spend most of the episode shagging because of something to do with the ghosts of abused children. Or something like that.
Amends - Angel crying about something and it snows.
Normal Again, The Gift, The Body, Hush or The Zeppo.
Best, probably The Gift. Much as I liked series 6 & 7, it was better than the actual finale.
Worst: The 9/11 episode
Worst... guess Isaac and Ishmael isn't great, but loads of later episodes are weaker.
those two are great but Isaac and Ishmael was properly cringey
Worst: Yeah, probably Isaac and Ishmael, or any of the last 7 where nothing bad happens because of the really bad thing that already happened.
Pretty presumptious to expect that people know and remember the episode titles to every show ever
Worst - season 9
Best - Niagara (up until that fucking dance)
With the concierge. There's a lot of best episodes
Too cringey and sad
but yesterday I watched the start of Stress Relief where Dwight stages a fire right at the start. I don't think I've ever seen a better bit of telly, ever. It's absolutely wonderful.
The start where Michael is asleep from eating the big pie at lunch so they all set the clocks to 4:50 to go home early.
Worst: That one where Meadow has a black boyfriend.
(For a very ropey, forgettable plot).
That episode was still better than all that Kevin Finnerty shit.
Was his surname Greenbaum or something? I remember he was Jewish too.
I liked the Kevin Finnerty episodes, if only for Silvio being boss.
I dunno, it's a little heavy-handed, but I like it when they show Tony as being a prick.
Just less Meadow (and much less of her roommate who pulled her hair out all the time).
but I'm a fan of dream sequences and stuff like that.
but the dream stuff just wasn't well executed in the sopranos
but the fish telling him Pussy was a snitch and the whole Finnerty thing was the closest I came to finding the Sopranos tiresome.
cant remember the names of the episodes but
SPOILERS: adriana getting whacked by Silvio episode, Tony killing Ralph and the gay Vito ones are up there SPOILERS COMPLETE
Worst: Kevin Finnerty stuff, don't dislike it as much as some of you do but still not great
Not seen it. CCB 1 IT Crowd 0
then just becomes a self-referencing mess where they nod to every good joke from the series.
"I'm disabled!", for example
Worst: Episode 21
What show am I?
Worst: The one where Maddie, James and Donna sing the song.
but the denouement of the james/evelyn/donna story is literally the worst thing ever
best: everything else about it is brilliant
Even Andy and Dick fighting over Lucy's baby? You can't say that was a good story line.
And when Ben Horne thinks he's in the confederate army?
Seriously, love the show, but there was a LOT of shite in there.
is this allowed in here?
i think its great
Worst: The Wedding Party
worst.. hard to say but maybe Waldorf Salad?
Worst: the ones where nothing really happen and it's just moaning
Barring the "great" bit in the title
wasn't far off
Homer vs Dignity
Indie Simpsons Fan answer:
Last Exit to Springfield
Principle and the Pauper
so I'm hoping this one's a wolfcastle
but I find people who always cite them a bit try-hard in their Simpsons fandom.
but I disagree with el too in that it generally is critically considered the best
I dunno. Principal and Pauper definitely aint worst either
There are many more far worse episodes after Season 9 (unless we're not counting them). It still has that Oakley and Weinstein charm.
at least in retrospect it was fucking about with characters solely because they could. But otherwise, yeah, it's a funny episode otherwise.
and yet one of finer episodes of Season 9 (it being a Season 8 holdover).
Worst: midget jockeys, panda rape, 80% of everything since 1999
The Prisoner one is pretty awful but there are vast tracts of terrible Simpsons that I've never seen.
the jockey one being the other obvious example, anything more recent than that may well be worse but would be pointless citing cuz everyone stopped watching by then anyway
As someone who grew up with the Simpsons, I would actually choose that as my absolute personal worst. I just remember watching it and thinking "No no no, this isn't right, this isn't right at all" :( Properly broke my heart.
is the one wheres they rewrite the Homer/Marge tail where Marge met Homer whilst he was in a grunge band.
Best: A Fish Called Selma (Troy McClure episode!)
Worst: Whatever that one where Homer was Glenn Beck. There's probably an episode or two from last season that are on par with it too.
genuinely surprised at the love it gets. They'd had some sketchy episodes for the past season or two at the time, but I think that was the first to genuinely annoy me.
EVAN EHT NIOJ!
Worst: The Latest Gun in the West. Although I don't think you can really have a worst Simpsons episode as pretty much everything after Season 16 is unwatchable and it breaks a new ground for terrible every year.
way worse out there
Worst - I dunno, I can't remember the bad ones.
The one with the eastern European family
"ALL FANCY FOOD HAS TO BE IN TOWERS"
Worst: Probably one of the later Daphne and Niles episodes
Worst: Stranger In a Strange Land
Can't fault you on worst though
Worst: That one at the start of series 8 which is all just bits of old ones (but not, crucially, a clips episode).
Worst: The Gang Crack The Liberty Bell
(Not counting latter seasons as they're mostly all ropey)
Largely a shadow of its former self
there was a run in the middle of the most recent season of about 4/5 episodes that were pure gold I thought
If way too meta.
Best is Nightman Cometh.
Worst is probably that zombie parody they did.
as Ant said, is comfortably the worst
Worst: The Gang Cracks the Liberty Bell
best is Nightman, or the boat, or ChardeeMacDennis
worst - the one where Helen Daniels and bouncer get arrested for tax evasion
worst - the one where he ends up back in prison
GUESS THE SHOW!
have a special biscuit
Worst: The one where he gets kicked out of New York.
Worst: That one with Riggins and Street in Mexico. When Santiago turns up and then just disappears.
where the hitherto unmentioned relative comes to stay and is a bit annoying
(on british tv)
from the first series, probably the one where they search for the yeti
from the 2nd series either nanageddon or milkyjoe
from the 3rd series the party at naboos
makes me cringe.
I am a father
I DO like Julian Barret
The council does your hair
Worst - last one (or maybe penultimate one)
You are an absolute fucking lunatic
The forbidden city!
Worst - The final episode, by a long way
Worst - The Merv Griffin Show maybe? (The finale aside obvs)
Worst: The Betrayal
with the magic loogie
or the fire - just for kramer's bus story
worst: the one with gillian anderson is sceptical about the aliens
worst: most of the ones when Mulder leaves/the later seasons
that was a sweet episode
thought it was a massive fan fav
they're too guntrip or buffy or something. for me the show had lost its way by season 5.
worst: bad blood, post modern prometheus, literally every episode from season 8 and 9, most of season 7
worst: probably something from season 8 or 9
not a great episode in itself, but in terms of giving a sense of tension and frustration building up was important to have.
Worst: Either Safe or The Message
Worst: season 2
Worst: The insultingly stupid finale to season 2 they'd been teasing all along
Best: Where Tim and Daisy go for a night out in Camden and have that gun fight with those teenagers
Worst: The matrix one
Worst: Second Series
cba with specific episodes just gonna say what was good and what wasn't
fight me if you got a problem with that
Worst: Brother Mouzone murking everyone and 5th season mental McNulty
Best: Teacher Prez, Michael & Dukie etc, Slim Charles killling Cheese, THE WHOLE OF SEASON 2 (fight me)
because all the stevedore stuff doesn't seem very connected to, or exciting as, the cops/dealers. Second time/subsequent rewatches you realise it's fantastic.
Best: Episode 4
Worst: It was all good wasn't it, just peaked with episode 4
where everything got revealed and it was massively awful was the worst episode
Best: The one with Thom Yorke & Bjork
Bouncers dream. End of thread.
Best: The one where they eat the dog.
Worst: Dunno, can't think of one really.
Dunno about the best, but the worst is the episode where Frank goes to open up a library at his old school, and hangs around getting pissed with his old mates. I've rarely been so bored watching an episode of anything.
the further the subplots get away from Frank, the less interesting and more sillier they get.
and the episode name knowing presumptions of a few people in here.
who knows what episodes of TV series are called?! I only vaguely take them in on DVDs when I'm trying to remember which one I'm on (and even then I normally get it wrong), and on Netflix I don't notice at all. And when most of these programmes were originally shown on TV, the credits didn't even list the episode names!
though it's easier to look up names of episodes these days than it used to be as they're online or listed in DVD boxsets etc
That was a good dynamic, especially after Tavon. But he was pretty insufferable most of the time.
They had to flesh out Terry's character/situation a bit, otherwise it just would have been Vic shooting someone just to be shocking.
I'm on a rewatch, and had to stop with Mum. Not because it's bad, but because of... the thing that happens.
Oh god that bit in Mum D:
best: when they go to Boston to the Violent Femmes in store signing
thanks for coming
thanks for coming
thread is unreadable.
then frankly you have no right to offer your opinion on which episodes are the best and worst. Sorry but that's just the way it is.
Best: All of the TV
Worst: In the Loop
I'd pick one of S1 or 2 for a worst, as it was still finding its feet.
Best: Spinners and Losers, I'd say.
'You're the shittest James Bond ever! You're David fucking Niven!'
In The Loop was like an alternative timeline or something. Tom Hollander was great in it.
best: Shut The Door Have A Seat
worst.. one of the Peggy-and-the-priest misfires of season 2.
Best: Pine Barrens. The one with Paulie and Christopher getting lost in the woods in the snow after the thing with the Russian.
Worst: struggling. Not sure this word is appropriate with The Sopranos.
WORST: Season 4, Competitive Wine Tasting
Or the Chicken Fingers one. Absolute swoon.
best: the ones i won
worst: the one i lost
worst - the one in battlestar galactica where adama and tigh basically get fucked in a stripclub for an episode, which is composed almost entirely of flashbacks.
must be new
best: when they do a gig/tour in the airport
worst: the one where they do a jingle and get really rich
Worst: dont know
