poll: should i learn french, german, italian or portuguese? give reasons.
i already know spanish so portuguese and italian would be quite easy, but then i could probably just learn them on my own
german would be dead hard, but this means it's probably the one i'm least likely to bother learning by myself without the motivation of a class
there are loads of good books that i'd like to read in french, but i don't really have any desire to talk to french people
I thought everyone in scotland could get an ILA for £200?
pretty great service. you should learn how to weld.
*everyone earning less than some amount (£25k maybe?)
but now you're only eligible if you don't have a degree, sadly
ah, bummer. I did a russian class off the back of that, was really good.
But now you're only eligible if you don't DECLARE you have a degree ;)
pro: move to germany, which is less fucked than england
solely as an act of protest against your appalling anglocentrism
who am i thinking of
coz of films
but massively loses in terms of 'places i would quite like to live in for a while'
(or do you already speak them?)
Because I'd pick one of those for broadness of use/potential + the fact they are (to me) a little more interesting
the other two still stand though. I suppose from those choices coupled with knowing Spanish, I'd maybe learn Portuguese because I'd like to go to South America and that would be handy.
chinese seems far too hard, and can't really see myself ever wanting to live in japan (so un-hip). also generally way too lazy to learn anything that involves a whole other writing system
they have words for really obscure concepts
portugese language is so horrible to hear spoken out loud. really ugly
compared to sexy german
can be quite sexy
I imagine it could be sexy in a bdsm context
i like the german language. it sounds really german.
portugal portuguese sounds a bit oddly eastern european, quite like it though
you can practice with me in exchange for teaching me Spanish. Plus it's a very widely spoken language and has multiple uses. And the accent is sexy.
...primarily as it can be somewhat abrasive to pronounce, but personally I love it. Also, in terms of learning it is one of the more logical languages out there plus it has loads of words in common with English. <3 German.
hast du eine lieblings fache?
like, I in a wee bun shop and there are two of the same bun I want so I'll point and say "zwei bitte"!
mein geburtstag ist am juli
HA-lo ich heiser GAY-ORG
all of those are worth learning, but i'd definitely go for german. all the best books and films are german, anyway (.....maybe?)
like berlin, obviously
