I am too, came to England at aged 3/4.
Kinda took me til aged 18 to realise I was one of those 'immigrants' parlimemt hate so much.
My Grandfather is Ulster and my grandma is English on that side. So Alcock probably has an English close rellie to get the Right of Abode.
It always has. The rules are fluid. It might be 6 months right now, although I'd need some kind of definitive link given you post all kinds of completely made up shit on here to troll.
It certainly used to be 2 years. It was dropped to 1 year for a bit then back to 2 years.
Not sure what the situation now is either. But when I went to get my passport renewed/changed the Australian girl in the Australian Embassy told me my birth certificate was fake, and left me standing there for about ten minutes while she verified it was real with some more informed colleagues. Great bunch of lads working there.
I seem to recall you getting upset that the term 'foreigner' was used to refer to Australians.
It's the worst thing about Dis, this imperfect recall of threads from years ago. (I think you're a cool guy btw and your daughter is adorable, just a general comment)
Also passive aggressive thissing, I'm looking at you two girls above
But you did get upset at the term.
However people are free to choose and use whichever words they see fit to describe a situation.
Maybe consider the fact that peoples' recall is so distinct because you are quite astounding with the things you say on here. I've always assumed it was an act/ accomplished trolling, but what is worrying is that maybe this is actually what you're like.
Nothing I say is 'astounding' or even marginally controversial.
It is generally really unpleasant and threatening to have a gang of women this'sing/responding to anything which might disagree with whatever inoffensive thing I say.
Basically,it is bullying, which is why I asked you to grow up in that thread last week- when not knowing who you were, I assumed from your writing ability and use of slurs that you were 18.
How old are you? Around 40 years old? Why are you bullying 27 year old girls on the internet? Interesting isn't it. I'm not really interested in a typo written response from you either so spare your poor tired hands.
He's mentioned it over and over through the years on here.
someone should kill me
re above, as i'm sure i've said on here before, until quite recently i believed that i was a naturalised immigrant, having been born to an australian mother and a father who, though born in wales, had been in australia since he was 4. teh family moved to england cos my dad was doing something in the australian army that the british army wanted more of, so he transferred. turns out i was actually born with a british passport cos of my dad. which doesn't really mean anything tangible, but made a small difference to how i saw myself in england
Now have an Irish one too. Always thought I was English up til about 18. Then the 'Immigrants stealin yer jobs' pamphlets from local (Hampshire) government started looking a little more evil.
apart from my dad therefore can't get one. so i'm stuck with just this stupid uk one what the point. LUCIEN????
but yeah, i'm not even proper foreign cos me da and mam are from sunderland lol. loved schooling people on immigrants when i was like 13 though.
my brother apparently spent hours practising his north east accent in the mirror to get rid of his kiwi one when he moved over as a 4 year old :(/:D
I wonder if Australians do actually put shrimps on the barbe
Because the name 'shrimp' isn't one any Australian would use.
Bit disappointed though.
