I can't drink due to Anti-biotics.
Regale me with stories of beer to make me feel better about this.
Whilst sitting outside at about 10.45 in Bristol. Was a lovely relaxing end to the day. Weird beer, worth a try though.
wait, something's different, something's unusual AW THAT'S I'M HUNGOVER
It was closed.
That i had a really great time.
You know those little bottles of Bierre D'or of whatever they're called you get from Tescos, about £3.50 for ten 250ml bottles? Well, they're okay, not terrible value but not exactly great beer either. UNTIL I realised, why not perk them up the way you perk up other tasteless beers - stick a lime wedge in it! Now it's like I'm at a wannabe fancy bar with an overpriced Corona every night, and I don't even have to leave my own living room.
Thank me later.
I got really really drunk and had a great time
I drank some very good beer.
I drank some very good beer I purchased with a fake I.D.
My name was Brian Mcgee
I stayed up listening to Queen
When I was 17.
much easier to avoid booze in the summer though
and I've just lost the appetite for it really, one or two nice bottles after work or something can be good, but I can't really be bothered drinking just for the sake of it now. I dunno, maybe it'll come back.
At least once a week
but you should be suspicious of me
Like it's okay wandering around with cans on a Tuesday afternoon because it's a sunny day.
Was really pissed off when i found out not only are Desperado's actually French, but the tequila in it is only tequila flavour.
I still drink it.
widely (amongst beer connoisseurs) considered the single best beer in the world
it was very nice but it really didnt blow me away. for such a strong beer it's very drinkable, and it's super malty but honestly couldnt taste anything that special in it. i'd choose it over a lot of beers, but not at £10 for a small bottle, which is about the cheapest you can get it
and i love rochefort but when it's $5 a bottle and westvleteren is $30, think i'll save my money.
Each year it gets a but younger and less "CAMRA". There was even a chilled beer and ciders stool that had the longest queues - full of people wearing those T-shirts with a washed out photo and then Palm Springs written across the top.
Great selection this year though, lots of new breweries. The year before last Mark Butcher provided the music. Nothing so glorious since.
6 bottles of beer for £10.
Fucking lovely. I bought 6 and drank all of them on Friday night.
but m&s' beer range is fucking fantastic
but there was a bottle of Citra in there and some dark Belgian ale.
they gave me a free bag for life to carry it down the road with!
Also a big fan of their (Burton's?) Staffordshire IPA.
The strong ones, basically.
good bon bons though
...but you can drink on antibiotics really.
but have a feeling booze (especially beer) may be an exacerbating factor, and it never harms to take a break.
seasonal beers are coming earlier and earlier, it's ridiculous
Tried their IPA recently, which was bloody brilliant.
but I was in the Crosse Keys on Sunday and they were £3 something.
Absolutely ridiculous pricing.
Very glad it's an available drink as part of a meal too.
Some inverse snobbery about posh boy brewers
I enjoy it then mutter "posh twat" under my breath when i've said how nice it is
If I grew up with a rich family and the opportunity to do whatever I want, I'd definitely open a brewery.
Not overly keen on the others but The Crisp is really good. £1.99 a can in mine.
Wrote a review of it on my (JAG) poorly updated blog: http://aleonsunday.wordpress.com/2014/07/05/caribbean-chocolate-cake-siren-craft-brew/
Big fan of siren at the minute.
The limoncello ipa is a thing of wonder and the QIPA is so tasty for 2%
Was really glad that I only ordered a third though as its so intense
Every other <3.5% IPA just tastes like a watered down version of a good beer.
They seem to have a huge range of craft ales now, more hit than miss so worth a try. They did a Tour de France one recently with was decent, the Satrs and Stripes craft ale not so much.
think there's anywhere in London that sells Brains.
That used to be my local and I didn't want to be confused about where I lived...
Website is less than helpful and you know...The Rake!
not the public ones, but the disabled one next to the bar.
and posted here every couple of weeks about it and bullied Ed Harcourt into making some?
all the time
found it very disappointing. It talked the talk but couldn't walk the walk. It walked a watery walk.
it's not really much more alcoholic tan fruit thath's been left ouit a bit too long really, is it? I woudln't worry about it (unless you are on metronidazole, in which case no beer or even overripe fruit to be on the safe side.)
I had a thirst for Bud the other day (I REALLY don't class Bud as alcohol, it's just fizzy pop) but it's still sitting in my fridge as I'm not fancying it.
I like all the other porters.
I like all the other Williams Bros beer.
But Midnight Sun just doesn't do it for me. There's no need for the ginger.
Basically he makes beer all day and watches football
Wish I could move to Seattle and make beer for a living, sounds ideal.
The route is almost entirely dictated by breweries/bars.
Gonna be really annoying not being able to buy loads of stuff at de Molen and Bierkoning.
I want to do this. Have you worked out the route yourself or is it a guided thing?
In 27 years, I’ve drunk 50,000 beers, and they just wash against me like the sea into a pier
but I did it in a BORING way
mine weren't particularly exciting beers but it was still beer!
I was just talking about this: http://drownedinsound.com/community/boards/social/4451696#r8216907
I was with a couple of people from work who I'm friendly with and it was a nice summer's evening.
might try and have a couple of weeks off it after this week
followed by several pints of "Hamlets Lager" (which is apparently just a rebadged Oranjeboom). Went down delightfully in the evening sunshine.
its cheaper than the westvleteren (well it was cheap when i lived in belgium)
I once had 8 of these washed down with 4 hoegardens and although I was absolutely mullered, the next day I was fine.
I also used to drink this
duvel the brewery was less than 8 km from where I worked and really gets you there
(otehr than bottledog)
