doris - owl if it's a girl
gregor - owl if it's a boy
buttercup - cow
like Tiny the Elephant and Biggles the Penguin.
we called the frog "robert" and got him to say it really fast
"ellie the elephant"
Cats - Moggy, Marmalade, Ginger, Tiddles
Although in Australia the most popular dogs names are Jess and Sally (or they were 20 years ago when I first read that stat). I guess there's more variety among male dogs (or perhaps Jess is gender non-specific, but every dog I ever knew called Jess was a girl).
