It's time guys. Commissioners post any order of business below >>
Thought I’d post up the keeper rules in one manageable post:
Each team can choose up to 3 players to keep from the previous season.
Each player you keep will cost you a pick equal to their 2013 draft day value e,g. if I keep Adrian Peterson I lose my 1st round pick in this year’s draft.
Players retain their draft day value even if they have been traded or dropped to the waiver wire and then picked up by another owner.
Any undrafted players picked up on waivers throughout the season will cost a 15th round pick.
If you now do not own the pick that you used to draft a player you wish to keep (you traded it away last season) then that player will be charged with a round above e.g. I want to keep AJ Green but I traded away my 2nd round pick. I’ll therefore be charged with a 1st rounder.
If everyone makes sure they have their keepers set a week before the draft (set it tentatively for August 24th 8PM BST) then I’ll edit the draft board accordingly and post it up on here so everyone can check I haven’t gone drunk on power and given myself 12 first round picks.
I think that’s all...
Also, there is possibly 2 free slots this year - I will definitely be reassigning The Jajaguwars (huggyjelly went AWOL after a few weeks into the season and doesn’t post at all) and I think AFC Ajax is owned by OvertakenByTractors who I gather doesn’t post here anymore so unless he reappears then he’s gone. I’ll get anyone who’s interested in those slots to ^this the below post and if there’s loads of demand then I guess I’ll have to pick names out of a hat.
He's motivated and very clued up but I guess DiSers should have precedence
For another strong regular season followed by an utterly abysmal play-off showing in Division 1. No, now that you mention it that doesn't remind me of anyone.
Back in for Keeper too, will try and think of a topical rebrand for the Neck as well. Crossing my fingers for a good comedy crime in the next week or so.
where would we be without Manziel.
Keeper - The Knights of Wine and Roses are IN.
Looking for a first trip to the big game since the inaugural season of DIS Fantasy NFL for one or both of my teams. Or another mid-table scramble, berating the players and the fantasy gods on a daily basis will be fine.
I think I have it in one league and you do in the other, but I can't remember which league.
I should warn you, I'm looking to get hold of both and combine the two into some sort of super-calculator. Probably one of them with till rolls coming out the back and buttons so big you can hit them with your fist.
So we can have a unification bout.
Can the Commish' of Division 1 let me know how I can join? I've already walked out of Division 2 (as Champion)
right, here's the state of play:
i've kicked out 4 users for inactivity:
Doodletown Junkies who i know was prof-kitsch
The Chumpions - dunno who that was but he did Sweet FA
Thornbury Kittens - likewise
AFC Ajax - this was OvertakenByTractors, who seems to have vanished. OBT, if you're lurking and still want to be in, can you post in reply to this or drop me a DM, you were fairly active last season but you have disappeared, that said you're back in if you want.
teams remaining in Division 2:
svlad - Staffordshire Oatcakes
tea_segall - the unfortunate Brighton B-52s, who really deserved promotion last year
FusionTR - Les Savy Favre, winner of Best Name
songforsaturday - Preston Lambs
brusma - London Riots
teams relegated last year:
spit-fire is already invited
i need e-mail addresses from POWERFULMELLOW and NEWERWAVES so that i can invite you
NEW TO DIS FANTASY NFL:
aggressively_passive is first on the list but he needs to DM/PM me at some point soon with his email address if he wants to confirm his place
hip_young_gunslinger has taken slot #2
so we have two slots left. REGISTER INTEREST BELOW. fyi lemonbrickcombo, you made me aware of your mate's interest but noted he's not a DiSer, so I'm going to give DiSers priority and if we've still got a spare slot come mid-August it's all his
I'm keen to join
if you reckon you can maintain interest over the season, PM me with your e-mail address and you're in
but please only join if you plan on keeping it up for the year. We've had a few people who thought they'd give it a crack and have subsequently got bored, to the annoyance of everyone else. Div II was a bit of a farce last year because of people dropping out.
aggressively_passive and powerfulmellow pm me their email so i can invite them
agree about the people needing to take part regularly, btw. was a bit annoying when the Junkies, Chumpions and Kittens just gave up (or in Junkies' case, never started). even more frustrating when they still beat you despite starting Ronnie Hillman and sodding Eli, too. so if anyone doesn't do anything for a couple of weeks, maybe i'll try edit the owner and give a team to my girlfriend or something, that'll teach you
speaking of which, it occurs to me i've not seen FusionTR round these parts recently. does anyone know if he's still here/likely to be taking part this year?
The Pigeons looking to defend their title, the 'fish looking to go that one step further and win the big game this time. With the latter's choice of keepers I like their odds!
Assuming it's pointless me using a keeper on Adrian Peterson given I could just draft him anyway if I wanted to.
but because by default the website eliminates everyone's first three picks I'll have to tweak the draft board beforehand manually to assign rounds to each owner's keepers. maybe I'll randomize 2 weeks prior to the draft so that gives everyone a week to set their keepers against their draft position?
another option is setting the draft order to inverse order of the standings from last year...
Maybe the point is that you're not supposed to know your picks when you assign your keepers idk. It would massively change what I want to do though.
in most 'how to run a keeper league' articles I've read. the only potential problem can be owners 'tanking' towards the end of the season. but I'm happy to do this as long as the general consensus agrees
Strictly no tanking allowed.
In that you get the highest pick in each round rather than first pick in the first round and the last pick in the second? As this would really benefit me this season I wholeheartedly approve.
I'm not that benevolent
Guess that kind of destroys any incentive for tanking anyway doesn't it? I'll just stick to trading players for picks when my team falls to bits.
seems sensible to reverse last year's order of finishing to me. Like we're the real NFL or something. Seems mildly silly that the Cordarellefish could finish second and get the first pick, although I wouldn't really grudge c_g it.
I was in Div II but got promotion, so just need to be invited into Div I. Let me know what is going on. PM me or email sheeldz [AT] gmail etc.
should I now be removed from the DiS Championship, as I thought this was Division 1?
Can someone mind me on so I don't need to trawl through the old threads, how many folk did we decide were going up & down?
So the 3rd/4th match has something riding on it.
I watch the sport pretty religiously now so would definitely keep up with it.
just reiterating my interest despite probably going to have another abysmal year of losing to the teams who's owners drop out in week 1.
also, could i be mega cheeky and ask that we don't arrange the div 2 draft for the weekend of the 23rd/24th august if it's at all avoidable?
This will be my 3rd year of being into it so properly excited about actually knowing enough players to get in on FF.
Kickers are top priority right?
If anyone wants to trade me Trent Richardson assuming I don't get the first pick that'd be great.
What's the score with drafting considering I'm not part of LME, all done on-line and stuff?
It's all on-line, we'll do a thread on the day for bants/undermining each others confidence.
Have paid no attention to OFF SEASON FOOTBAW other than watching a bit of the draft, so going to have to get clued up a bit to avoid my last place Keeper finish again.
Need someone for the kids to look up to.
Looking to bounce back into division 1 after a disastrous season last year.
Paris Poisson Rouge are going to transition from spiky playoff upstarts to dynasty this year. DiS Championship is ours for the taking if I can avoid drafting like a drunk Jerry Jones.
Darnell Dockett's Menagerie got with the times and are now The Inflatable Drinking Swans, a true symbol of our times. Also considered Jim Irsay's Medicine Cabinet but felt that was a bit too *ouch* http://deadspin.com/johnny-manziel-drinking-on-an-inflatable-swan-1587544492
at utter bargain prices. Bite me.
I need to know which life events I need to cancel.
Moved city, changed owners, alientated their fanbase, but ready to bus in a load of exciting new talent and make a name for themselves.
(I thought about a funny name, but eventually thought Wapping Dockers was not only historically pertinent and suitably sporty, it also sounds a bit rude).
to having some scoring for kick/punt returners, make things a bit more interesting? even if just 1 point bonus for a 50 yard return?
I set it up and I was pretty sure that was the only change I made to the default scoring.
And reports to training camp.
Sorry, I meant the Chiefs. Effect is much the same though.
The other league too I guess
or check your spam if you never got it?
Just tell me when hombres.
finally my time to shine
Are the dates of the Div I and Keeper league drafts set in stone? Because I can do both of them - don't change them.
for the same time as last year - 2 weeks before the season starts. division 1 is the Sunday before the first game I believe. seem like the most logical times
on setting the keeper draft order inverse to the standings last year? seems fair
Your time for avoiding embarrassment is over.
so if you get first overall, you'd pick 1, 24, 25, 48, 49 etc
if you get twelth overall, you'd pick 12, 13, 36, 37 etc
fwiw first overall pick is quite overrated. i'd rather pick 10-12 first
to give people some time. there's less interest now than I remember there being when I mentioned it earlier in the offseason which is odd. could've just picked via first come first served but there's 3 of you now so I guess I'll pick names out of a hat tonight. I realise this isn't the most transparent way so you guys will just have to trust me I guess...
Feel free to update for changes and berate me for obvious errors.

brusma and spitfire! my PA will contact you with further details (I will PM you)
spit-fire will be picking the keys to AFC Ajax
look forward to seeing what kind of dross is on my roster
Some big names but not a lot of depth. I need to check out where these players were drafted, but there were three stand out keepers.
i've got more than 3 i'd like to keep though
Top of the Panthers WR depth chart tho (lol) so worth a second thought.
Think I've decided but going to wait until the last minute in case of injuries.
No-one's safe. Especially Trent Richardson.
CJ Spiller - first round you say? You're cut.
Tom Brady - nice trio of SB rings Tommy. You're cut.
Eric Decker - really good work last year, buddy! You're cut.
James Starks - Oh you KNOW you're cut. Surprised to find you here at all to be honest.
as I decided to ride Vick, who immediately got hurt. Although I did then get Foles.
Think I got giddy after trading for Jamaal Charles.
if Josh Gordon gets his suspension cut in half to eight games
Is the draft order going to be updated for traded picks?
if not I'll do so when I adjust it for the keepers
how do i find out what round all my players were drafted in last year?
while trying to get to sleep last night. A couple I was proud of:
Michael Vick's Vapour Rub
For Whom the Joique Bell Tolls
Drew Brees. BEADS? BREES. BEES?
if he doesn't appear you're going to have to decide to re-setup the league without him at some point
might need to set up a drop dead for that. who wants to be comissioner, in that case?
Don't think anyone had any complaints about the job I did for Div II last season (aside from obviously rigging it so I could be champion).
I'm sure it won't be necessary though, didyousayhand will reappear soon.
Dave, Scotland will be back. He's never been a regular poster.
Give him time everyone, he's earned that.
I notice there are no reserve spots on the roster.
They just mean that if you have a guy go on IR you can put him on your own IR rather than cut him, in case you want to keep still for next season. It works for suspensions too.
Worth considering adding one or two of those?
When Julio went down and instead of putting him on IR I burned my entire team into cinders.
2 of mine are locks (as it turns out one of them wasn't even drafted), it's just the third that's a bit of a headache.
will do that this afternoon
quite tricky isn't it, deciding who to keep. Mr Jagjaguwar Autodraft drafted a grand total of zero sleepers, so it's all about playing the conservative game, bah
Are we drafting reverse order from last year's standings? Was that decided in the end?
- Adrian Peterson (R1)
- Matt Forte (R2)
- Le'Veon Bell (R6)
Don't really need to think about RBs in the draft now.
That's some quality work right there
and taken a risk i could get a good replacement for Forte (Chicago's O-Line's been a bit poop in two preseason games) in R2
Having two top 5 RBs was too tempting though. Your twitter account was sending me viruses last night btw, were you aware?
No Michael Bush stealing his goal line carries and entering the prime years for an RB.
(No discussing the questions).
Marshawn Lynch (R1)
Demaryius Thomas (R2)
Andrew Luck (R5)
- Cam Newton (R3)
- Antonio Brown (R6)
- Rashad Jennings (Undrafted)
Torrey Smith (Rd4)
Seahawks DST (Rd7)
Julian Edelman (Undrafted)
Got 3 picks in the first 2 rounds that I need to make count. Drafting Steven Jackson and Arian Foster in a bid for short term glory turned out to be something of a mistake.
Calvin Johnson (rd1)
Alfred Morris (rd2)
Peyton Manning (rd4)
Thought I wanted to keep Cotchery as good value having been undrafted and that I'd have a good shot at getting Johnson back if I wanted, but reading what it says here, people releasing some first rounders and not knowing the situation with draft order, there is too good a chance I may not be able to source a good enough replacement. Megatron really is a class apart as a WR.
Don't think it makes too big a difference (it doesn't for me anyway, not sure I'm giving anyone an advantage by unleashing the rest of the utter shower who made up my team last year onto the unsuspecting market).
is on knowing your leaguemates keepers, but I was gonna post the draftboard on here anyway so I could double check I assigned all the right rounds to everyone's keepers, and adjusted the order correctly for trades
You don't want us all crying on the day, get it sorted out now.
Possibly a disadvantage to the people who post first.
It's all a bit confusing with the NFL league admin/offline admin here having a bit of a disconnect. Website will still let me make changes to the keepers. Would make sense to lock them in, no?
so it gave me time to adjust the draft board, and I wasn't spending the hour prior to the draft frantically sorting out keepers when I should be preparing for my own draft. I'll post up the draft board in a bit
- Andre Ellington
- Gio Bernard
- Julius Thomas
Pretty happy with that. Still need to pick up another RB or two, but I'm happy going committee this year.
Might as well give you the trophy now tbh.
The Pete Carroll of fantasy.
(tbh it's more a damning indictment of how terrible my draft was last year)
Ellington and Bernard are both slated to have breakout years. They'll definitely both get injured now
There's still an empty team in Division 1
I've sent a PM 'cause I've gone up from Div II and dunno how to claim my spot...
Don't think Sheeldz is in there yet as well
until Josh Gordon got himself suspended, I remembered all my RBs flopped/got injured, and now it seems pretty much all the top RBs are being kept. My speculative Zac Stacy mid-season pickup has saved my bacon
Been daft busy but back now!
I'll get on sorting Div 1 now as soon as I work out what the fuck I'm doing...
You're getting bumped up the draft order for your faith in my commissionership (is that a word?) above. Pretty sure that's how this power lark works...
never doubted you man
Can't wait for this. Need to reclaim my crown!
Wheels in motion yo
Just confirming the two teams that I'm booting oot are:
Jimmys Wang Yang
(Peckham Parole Officers already gone)
Boot away. I'll be back though!
Keeper is 24th/25th? Div I is when…? I am on holiday from the 29th until the 5th. Terrible timing, I know.
Sunday the 31st at 15:00 EDT (pretty sure that should be 20:00 for us)
but I don't think I've made any drafts haha
I managed to do the last one rough as fuck from a shithole hostel in Uruguay, you'll be grand!
imagining doing a fantasy draft in Berghain
Consider your fire well and truly pissed on.
Thought about keeping my undrafted gooduns (K Allen, C Patterson) along with Charles, but couldn't let Jordy go as a 5th rounder. There were tears shed on both sides when we released Gronk, but this is business.
Best of luck lospollos sorting out all our stupid traded draft picks. For what it's worth, I think I should have no round 2 pick, 3 round 4 picks and no round 7 pick.
what's this all about?
You pick who you think will win in the games each week.
Easy and very quick. You should join and so should everyone else.
League name: DiS picks
Open to all DiSers, whether you play fantasy or not.
and the keepers:
Otherwise this is sterling work.
I'll amend accordingly tomorrow
If you're accepting keeper changes, please change my Keenan Allen pick to Gronkowski. He should be 4th round. Sorry to be a pain, I just can't bring myself to drop him even though my team would probably work out better.
so presumably, once all this is agreed, you just take out the picks for the keepers and make that the draft order?
Really appreciate it, had no idea how much work went into being keeper commissioner.
Looks like I have the first, sixth and eighth overall picks as well. To the war room!
Is it too late to change that?! That's horrific.
your Dez Bryant keep takes your 2nd; Kaep takes 3rd, therefore the MJD keeper bounces up to a 1st
or you could say Dez is your 1st, MJD your 2nd. doesn't make a difference either way. like I said above Sunday was just a soft deadline so I could get everyones keepers within a reasonable timeframe before the draft, but everyone feel free to make changes until Sunday - post them in this thread so I can make the changes
Do you have to pick three keepers? Can you pick just the two?
Honestly my team last year was so so so bad I pretty much only want to keep Dez.
like, the lowest ADP players left are Montee Ball and Peyton Manning.
(And no discussing the questions).
soon so many people will be taken that lbc will actually get his wish and Roy Helu will be first overall pick
is it ok to just say COME ON COOLERTHANTV, DON'T BE TAKING MJD 1ST OVERALL.
I've changed it now. Think I should now have the first overall pick free... but lospollos will need to confirm that...
See what happens when people discuss the questions?
Draft days are the absolute best days.
With all the massive gaps between picks. Might go and make a cup of tea during the round that's pretty much all you.
Although old severed gets to wait until round 4. He'll end up having his first pick being Lamar Miller or something.
There are only about 4 picks apiece in the first 2 rounds.
we're basically only drafting for 12 rounds
Any chance we can have an updated list of keepers and draft order?
Thanks in advance,
Your pal in fantasy football,
draft order - http://tinypic.com/r/2dwhr8k/8
keepers - http://tinypic.com/r/2rzus13/8
I requested a change to my keepers upthread. Will understand if it's too late, but I'd really like to switch if possible.
You're a prince among men.
He's not going to be suspended for long given it was a first time offense right?? I'm relying on the inefficiency of the American legal system here.
But smoking something that's legal in parts of the country he lives in? HE SHOULD HAVE THE BOOK THROWN AT HIM. AND NOT A PAPERBACK.
(It barely works anyway)
(Is it time to go yet?)
.......I need a coffee
What could possibly go wrong
So I'll be fried by the time I have to start the keeper draft which will possibly be finished before the 20 teamer.
dingy the other one, a 20 team draft sounds daft anyway. Priorities!
After about 7 rounds of the draft it's a total lottery. 20 teams is madness, imagine being at the end of the snake and having to wait 38 picks! Balls to that.
Luckily, by the time keeper started I had basically run out of recognisable names, so I gould draft purely by need.
Got to do some frantic last minute cramming. Someone ask me some questions!
12.6? Might just have seemed like it.
Beer and whisky to hand. Stack of vinyl next to me. Millions of tabs open
QB: Foles, Dalton
RB: Reggie Bush, Gerhart, Woodhead, Carlos Hyde, Devonta Freeman
WR: Torrey Smith, Keenan Allen, Julian Edelman, Marvin Jones, Markus Wheaton
TE: Greg Olsen
Quite pleased, had to reach at RB but I think everyone did in the end. Reckon I've a lot of breakout potential, unlike my geriatric bunch of chumps from last year.
QB: Rivers, Roethlisberger
RB: Ryan Mathews, Gio Bernard (K), Andre Ellington (K), Darren Sproles
WR: Randall Cobb, Terrance Williams, Michael Floyd, Riley Cooper, TY Hilton, Steve Smith
TE: Julius Thomas (K)
K: Nick Folk
D/ST: New England Patriots
Little miffed I went Hilton over Wayne but it's not such a terrible oversight. Worried about my fragile RBs, they're all good starters but I am wondering if they'll last the season. Hope both QBs start on fire, would be nice to have some trade bait. Similar with my stable of breakout WRs. Succumbed and took the evil empire as D. then remembered Kansas City might not be so bad and they have De'Anthony Thomas returning kicks. Schwing.
QB: Manning bros
RB:Frank Gore, Alfred Morris, Pierre Thomas, Andre Williams
WR: Calvin Johnson, Tavon Austin, Reggie Wayne, Brandin Cooks
TE: Jordan Reed, Eric Ebron
K: Mason Crosby
Def: Rams, Giants
High hopes for keeper value in Ebron, Cooks and maybe Williams.
Rams have an early bye, so it was worth getting a second Defence on board and I like the Giants secondary. I see noone else followed suit.
Brave New Worilds catch the eye, some good potential for Knights of Wine and Roses and My Son Is Also Named Bortles and The Flying Cordarrellefish should also do well I think.
QB - Matthew Stafford
RB - LeSean McCoy, Arian Foster, Steven Jackson, Maurice Jones-Drew
WR - Julio Jones, Andre Johnson, Cecil Shorts, Mike Evans, Hakeem Nicks, Greg Jennings, Josh Gordon
TE - Jordan Cameron, Antonio Gates
K - Nae cunt
DEF - Broncos
Especially those RBs. Think the Josh Gordon pick was discussed in suitable detail during the draft.
Teams pretty old, but there were no reaches, had ever player I drafted higher on my board than where I took them, apart from the Broncos DEF, not really sure why I did that!
QB: Griffin, Locker
RB: Charles, Vereen, CJ1K, Fred Jackson, CJ Anderson
WR: Nelson, Fitzpatrick, Welker, Bowe, Boldin
TE: Gronkowski, Miller
Kicker: Some guy at some point.
Done a bit of a Raiders and picked an amazing team from 2012.
QB - Cam, Brady
RB - Spiller, Jennings, Blount, Moreno,
WR - Brown, Jackson, Baldwin, Watkins, Amendola
TE - Ertz, Walker
DEF - Cards
K - Ol' Man Dawson
QB: Aaron Rodgers, Tony Romo
RB: Eddie Lacy, Joique Bell, Jonathan Stewart, Jacquizz Rodgers, Shonn Greene
WR: Desean Jackson, Mike Wallace, Golden Tate, Andrew Hawkins, Marqise Lee
TE: Jimmy Graham
K: S. Hauschka
Not bad draft, a couple of players in there that could be better than their history now that they are with a new team.
Relatively happy with them. Some potential there if Stewart can stay healthy and Rodgers can take more of the carries from Jackson (which really could happen what with the amount of tread on his wheels)
QB: Matt Ryan, Teddy Bridgewater
RB: Zac Stacy (K), Doug Martin (K), Ray Rice, Stevan Ridley
WR: Alshon Jeffrey (K), Michael Crabtree, Victor Cruz, Emmanuel Sanders, Jordan Matthews
TE: Dennis Pitta, Ladarius Green
K: Nick Novak
Reasonably pleased. Got one foot in the present and one in the future. Bridgewater a mega reach but the potential is enormous, totally worth it. Trying to go a bit more #YOLO this season.
You got to them both just ahead of me
RB: Peterson, Forte, Bell, West, Hill
WR: White, Harvin, Decker, Benjamin, Boykin
TE: Rudolph, Allen
K: The Blair Walsh Project
Quite pleased. I went with potential over oldsters.
I'm always open to offers though.
Seeing you two as the early favorites based on the above, good drafting imho guys
I know it's preseason but his o-line is getting torn apart right now by San Diego of all people
and their defense is worse so he'll be in a load of shootouts this season. Plus he has more healthy weapons this year. I like his prospects.
Feels like the beginning of the end for Frank Gore and Vernon Davis though, but the wheels seem to be in motion to replace both.
Gives you a grade, a projected record and some spraff
it seems to think I'm going 12-2... :D
It doesn't approve of me drafting Markus Wheaton or Devonta Freeman and thinks I should look at trading for Welker. For the first of many times this season, sod off Fabiano.
Gives me a B, congratulates me on Griffin in the 9th, then tells me I'll finish 10th with 5-9. OK then.
I'm going 4-12 apparently, dead last :|
Apparently taking Knowshon Moreno was a mistake and I should've only kept Antonio Brown if the league was PPR. Not really having that.
BUILT AROUND AN EXCEPTIONAL BATTERY OF BALL CARRIERS, THE INFLATABLE DRINKING SWANS COULD CHALLENGE FOR THE LEAGUE'S TOP SPOT
Thinks I reached for Darren Sproles. No-one reaches for Sproles.
Wants me to trade for pretty boy Brady and pick up the walking dead Ryan Tannehill off waivers, with the Baltimore D. Uh, what.
Makes perfect sense.
In the 5th round, caution was thrown to the wind, as Pierre Thomas was selected at pick number 55 versus an ADP of 109.6 across all NFL.com leagues.
7th place 8-6 prediction from 18th in the draft there
my grade is B, projected record as 6-8 and to finish 6th.
Doesn't like my pick of Joique Bell in the 3rd round though, ah well. It was early, but with the keeper league, most of the ones I would have picked at that slot were taken
and it says my toughest week is week 1 against Unnecessary roughness and my easiest is week 12 against Unnecessary roughness. I think something might be a little wrong there!
Apparently I did well to even be competitive drafting from 11. Ha.
I can hardly give nfl.com $19.99 quick enough for their Fantasy Scout.
But might cuz I'm on mobile?
Grade A, 8-6, T3
all went downhill since O-Levels
the A grade is because it knows I kill in the playoffs
trying to avoid another last placed finish...
QB- Russell Wilson
RB- Montee Ball (K), Bishop Sankey, Lamar Miller, Mark Ingram, Chris Ivory
WR- Dez Bryant (K), AJ Green, Jeremy Maclin, DeAndre Hopkins, Reuben Randle, Kenny Stills
TE- Martellus Bennett
K- Dan Bailey
Absolutely stacked at WR, and Dez and Green *should* rack up some big scores.
Running-backs are a worry as they all have question marks, but given who was left on the board they are ok. Massive Wilson fanboy so happy to have him.
wtf was I thinking?
somehow, despite being hammered, my draft recap email gave me a B and is projecting a 7-7 record. it's also saying i'm going to get thrashed week 4, but i know that already. good roster though, i like it:
QB: Luck, Cutler
RB: Lynch, Tate, Pierce, Robinson, Michael
WR: Thomas, Patterson, Colston, Hunter
TE: Davis, Eifert
K: JUSTIN MOTHERFUCKING TUCKER:
i'm thinking Hunter might come good more towards the second half of the season, got high hopes for Patterson though, and couldn't help myself with Colston
still, JUSTIN TUCKER. and the Panthers D, who people seem to have forgotten are still pretty good (front 7, ok), Kraken or no Kraken
but this year they are gonna struggle to keep off the field, because the offense is gonna struggle to move the chains. It's why I didn't want to take them. However, I hope I'm completely wrong and they go all the way and win the Superbowl.
QB: D. Brees, A. Smith
RB: D. Murray, T. Richardson, A. Bradshaw, D. McFadden, D. Williams
WR: B. Marshall, P. Garcon, B. Hartline, K. Wright
TE: J. Witten, C. Clay
K: S. Gostkowski
Pretty pleased with that given it was auto, WR could do with strengthening but otherwise pretty balanced.
but they can't ALL be injured at once right... RIGHT?
my nine all-stars fall victim to nine separate misfortunes and are unable to play tomorrow. But that will never happen. Three misfortunes, that's possible. Seven misfortunates, there's an outside chance. But nine misfortunes? I'd like to see that!
he's right, there were only 8 misfortunes, Daryl Strawberry still plays
All I was dreaming of was fantasy drafts. Glad there are no more until Sunday.
Got first pick in Div 1 the last two years though, so I'm skeptical about that.
Spent most of this work trying to build a foolproof spreadsheet.
Free your mind and your draft will follow
Dexter McDougle MD
QB Andrew Luck 20
RB Adrian Peterson 60
RB C.J. Spiller 17
WR Randall Cobb 20
WR Roddy White 10
TE Vernon Davis 16
FLEX Joique Bell 15
LB Jamie Collins 1
DL DeMarcus Ware 2
DB Tyrann Mathieu 1
K Justin Tucker 2
BE Percy Harvin 10
BE Cam Newton 7
BE Cordarrelle Patterson 6
BE Danny Woodhead 5
BE Terrance Williams 6
BE Stevan Ridley 1
BE Muhammad Wilkerson 1
Too expensive: Spiller, maybe Bell. Don't fancy big Vern this year either.
Good team overall, would love to go into battle with that lot in Div 1, defenders obviously excluded.
Overall: A-, expected record 4-10, chance of making the playoffs 107.3%. Suggested players to pick up: Seattle DEF, Randy Moss, the ghost of John Wayne.
please everyone try and turn up, it makes the whole thing a bit more fun, unpredictable and frustrating.
also: FUSIONTR, WHERE ARE YOU? i've had no word from him, no DMs, no posting on here, no anything. if he doesn't turn up to draft, should i consider re-allocating the team spot to someone post-draft? what say you, Div II?
What time is the draft?
Pretty pumped for my first time in the war room.
Got a load of leftover pizza, a growler of Dupont Saison, and very little idea of what I'm doing. Can't wait.
Running simultaneously to my League of Record, which is a 10 team IDP league.
Best of luck to all.
Probably follow the div 2 draft as a warm up, enjoyed watching it last year. See if I can't curse svlad again early doors.
just you stay away from any brash predictions please.
or at least about my team, predict all you want about the others
I'm in Amsterdam for work so I'll leave it to my GM Shitty McFate-Luck and do some trading after.
might not do it live, so done my prerankings. hopefully that works.
what are the actual mechanics now, I've checked to make sure my computer is compatible with the live draft thing so now do I just wait to get an invite or something. Be gentle.
There will be a link, you can't miss it. Only shows up then though.
Fear my deep spreadsheets and experienced draft strategies
Here's a question - does anyone let emotional issues impact their drafting, like having to root for a divisional rival to score you fantasy points?
I also have fantasy crushes on the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks
but I don't know how I could watch him ripping through the Lions for two games and sort of feeling good about it.
(Not that I'll have the chance to draft him!)
I'm likely to want at least one Bengal on the team, but other than that it's all fair game. Have both Steelers and Ravens in my Keeper team, wouldn't have a problem with having a Brown either but someone had already taken the only draftable one.
Elite WR or RB tough call.
If Charles, Peterson, Lynch and McCoy are all gone (don't trust Forte...)
Bernard was off the board at 11 for me!
Lacy should be a beast.
Who's going to own up to that one?
Then draft results.
I'd done a fair amount of work in advance of the deraft but it could have been a whole lot worse. I'm not sure I would have trusted myself to do any better, the state I was in.
QBs Kaepernick, Palmer
RBs Lynch, R Bush, L Miller, Woodhed, Bernard Pierce
WR: Marshall, Fitzgerald, Torrey Smith, Kelvin Benjamin, D Amendola
TE: C Clay
K: C Parkley
rb: m.ball, b.tate, f.jackson, s.ridley, b.cunningham
wr: a.johnson, m.colston, j.maclin, g.tate, m.evans, j.hunter
k: the blair walsh project
i took peyton and julius in the top 4 rounds (i'm a broncos fan, it made sense, honest!) but that made RB/WR a right pain, especially with everyone else forgoing QB/TE until much later.
still reasonably happy i guess, but i need some late picks to break out imo :/
QB – B Roethlisberger, J Flacco
RB – D Murray, C Spiller, B Sankey, D Williams, C Ivory
WR – D Bryant, D Jackson, B Cooks, R Cooper, M Wheaton
TE – V Davis
K – R Gould
Def - Pats
Got a bit freaked out with the 12/13th pick situation, ended up with by top RB and WR both coming from Dallas which was suck come bye week. Would have been nice to get an 'elite' QB, but fairly happy overall I suppose, it's all a crap shoot anyway.
Really thought about drafting Johnny Football as my backup. Still regretting it.
at least you didn't go for three players from one team in the first 4 rounds. could be worse, i almost reached for sanders just to go "all-in"
Picking last overall in the opening round, Wapping Dockers had a decent showing and put together a team that has the ability to reach the postseason. With five running backs on the roster, they have quality and quantity at that spot. Their ball-carriers are projected to average 163.72 points this season, slightly more than the league average of 161.46. At another spot in the lineup, Wapping Dockers was able to land a pair of quarterbacks with plenty of room to grow.
Looked like a LOT of defences being picked in the middle rounds.
As that's the number of teams that picked kickers in round 9.
here's hoping Division 1's draft is a full house
Think I'm going to miss the live draft, to watch some fucking fireworks! :(
I've set my pre draft rankings so not the end of the world, still annoying though...
QB: Aaron Rodgers, Robert Griffin III
RB: Rashad Jennings, Maurice Jones-Drew, Darren Sproles, Knowshon Moreno
WR: TY Hilton, Roddy White, Emmanuel Sanders, Marquise Lee
TE: Jimmy Graham, Martellus Bennett
K: Adam Vinitieri
DEF: Browns, Giants
Issues at wide receiver, defence and a horribly average running back room.
Gonna come 10th with a 4-10 record apparently.
Got an A and will come 2nd in my simul-draft though.
Waiting until 3rd round until taking an RB, then having to reach for Jennings really killed me off.
nfl.com also telling me off for picking Lee, but he was my last proper pick, there was noone else there so I took a shot in the dark for a guy who could have upside.
Really hoped for a top 4 pick, but them's the breaks. At least it's not 12th.
Finally one of these with no interminable waiting.
Happy wi that
has anyone got a link to div 1 so i can watch the draft?
Should work (although looking at that URL I'm very dubious)
Didn't think this one was until 9. Relatively happy with Henne I Shrunk The Kids considering.
i like your starters a whole lot.
QB: Drew Brees, Tony Romo
RB: Doug Martin, Joique Bell, Carlos Hyde, Ray Rice, Jonathan Stewart
WR: Vincent Jackson, Mike Wallace, Julian Edelman, Steve Smith, Jerricho Cotchery
TE: Eric Ebron
K: Mason Crosby
manning, ball and johnson are strong picks i reckon ;)
"BUILT ON A PAIR OF BRONCOS, STAFFORDSHIRE OATCAKES IS POISED FOR A TITLE"
nfl.com is totally in love with manning and ball apparently...
When NFL.com drafted for me
RB: McCoy, Ellington, Thomas, West, Freeman
WR: Brown, Garcon, Harvin, Williams, Matthews
TE: Rudolph, Kelce
think i had a pretty decent draft with some good sleeper potential. only having prettyboy as a QB's a bit of a weakness, but the only backups i was really after went a few picks before i wanted them and i didn't want to end up with like Tannehill or something
now the ANGRY COMMISSIONER face time:
only 7 of us turned up for the Div II draft. i'm sure some of you couldn't make it for legit reasons. HOWEVER, here's the thing, if any of you go medium-term inactive and and don't tell anyone you are, i'm going to reassign your team to someone else. probably my girlfriend. so, if you go inactive for 3 weeks (no team changes with folk on byes for example), i'm cutting you. IRON FIST, FUCKERS.
about the inactive team position. I've been in a league with inactive people before and it sucks, especially when you lose to them.
RB: Murray, Miller, A. Williams, Ivory, Stewart, CJ Anderson
WR: Thomas, Cobb, T. Smith, Tate
TE: Gronkowski, Rudolph
K: Parkey (who?)
Feeling a lot worse about this one than the keeper one. Didn't get an RB2 until late and subsequently drafted loads of RBs to compensate. A lot relies on Gronk staying healthy as that will affect Brady's points as well. Hmmmmmm.
RB: Matthews, Gore, T-Rich, Ridley, De Williams
WR: Calvin, Edelman, Decker, Cooper, Steve Smith
TE: Vernon Davis, H Miller
K: The Broncos guy
Never gone for a WR in the first round before, then taking a QB in round 2 meant no RBs until pretty late. As a result they are all... well a bit shit. Still only need two or three to play OK with Brees and Calving ripping it up. Hopefully.
QB: M. Ryan
RB: M. Forte, T. Gerhart, S. Vereen, J. Hill, P. Thomas
WR. A. Green, A. Brown, H. Nicks, S. Watkins, G. Jennings
TE: J. Cameron, T. Kelce
K: B. Walsh
Turned out OK after it all went to hell in rounds 2/3 (forgot how early and how deep the run on RBs goes), ended up Forte and a load of scat backs who could post between 0 and 30 points in any given week. Very happy with my receivers though, two bonafide WR1s and a lot of breakout potential (and Greg Jennings, who I sort of drafted by accident).
Quite impressed by whoever managed to draft the Jackson 3 btw.
QB: Matt Stafford, Andy Dalton
RB: Gio Bernard, CJ Spiller, Ray Rice, Carlos Hyde
WR: Dez Bryant, Alshon Jeffrey, DeAndre Hopkins, Anquan Boldin, Mike Evans, Jordan Matthews
TE: Jordan Reed
Feel a bit better looking at my team now the draft is over. Absolutely hated drafting from 9th pick - most of my targets didn't seem to drop to me and I feel a bit unmoored without a legit RB1. Bit worried about my bye week situation come Week 9 too. Pretty good depth overall I think, but my bloody laptop froze prior to my last pick and the autobot kindly picked Matt Prater, so I'm awaiting a waiver claim on another kicker now.
Ladies & Gentlemen, Your Paris Poisson Rouge for 2014:
QB: Jay Cutler, Ben Roethlisberger
RB: Andre Ellington, Reggie Bush, Joique Bell, Danny Woodhead, Darren Sproles
WR: Michael Floyd, TY Hilton, Terrance Williams, Doug Baldwin, John Brown
TE: Jimmy Graham
K: Nick Folk
D/ST: New Orleans Saints & Rob Wolfman Ryan
DESPITE REACHING FOR A FEW EARLY-ROUNDERS, PARIS POISSON ROUGE IS POSITIONED FOR LEAGUE DOMINANCE
though having Bush and Bell could be really annoying (if you start one you'll start the wrong one guaranteed). also John Brown is a candidate to be a cool player this season, but behind Fitzgerald and Floyd? he's not going to top 600 yards.
I reckon he could be a SLOT SENSATION
i've got him on watch list in all my leagues (i think) because of waiver potential. also Latavius Murray for when MJD and Run DMC break
Half Canadians 2014
QB Rivers, Bridgewatee
RB Tate, Lynch, Moreno, Jackson, Rodgers
WR D. Jackson, V Jackson, Boykin, Cotchery, Wayne
No idea what I was doing. :-D
(It was the third).
Rivers helped me into this league!
Also, I managed to get promoted with the same strategy last year haha
If 7-7 is only good enough for 7th the computer must think someone has had a horrible draft...
Got some work to do then.
QB - Luck, Lauren Tannehill's husband
RB - McCoy, Bell, Ingram, Pierce
WR - Patterson, Fitz, Sanders, Wheaton, Benjamin
TE - Ertz, Delanie Walker
DEF - Cards
K - Bailey
A- 9-5 2
Would've preferred to have an extra quality RB but otherwise I'm happy with that
QB - Russell Wilson, Alex Smith
RB - Adrian Peterson, Alfred Morris, Maurice Jones-Drew, Khiry Robinson
WR - Michael Crabtree, Julio Jones, Marques Colston, Brandin Cooks, Rueben Randle
TE - Martellus Bennett, Tyler Eifert
K - Mason Crosby
DEF - 49ers
This is an annoyingly good team.
Missed the first 4 rounds, by the time I got involved things went a bit downhill.
Well it's still an annoyingly good team, although I'm very wary of any Saints players. That offence is going to put up 50 points a week but outside of Jimmy Graham it's really unclear who's going to see any receptions/carries. Kenny Stills will probably be WR1 now just to annoy you.
QB - Cam Newton
RB - Doug Martin, Rashad Jennings, LeGarrette Blount, Fred Jackson, Mike Tolbert
WR - Brandon Marshall, Mike Wallace, Mohamed Sanu, Tavon Austin, Wes Welker
TE - Julius Thomas
K - Nick Novak
DEF - KC Chiefs
Pretty happy with it, NFL.com gave me an A so that's nice. Hopefully it'll pay off having no depth whatsoever outside of WR and RB and I can plug gaps with Waiver pickups on bye weeks as needed. I don't have any real pile-up game weeks where a lot of these guys are all on a bye together so it should hold together, as long as Cam's ribs glue themselves back together this week
QB Peyton Manning
RB Chris Johnson, Montee Ball, Lance Dunbar, Terrance West
WR Andre Johnson, Keenan Allen, Kendall Wright, Brian Hartline, Justin Hunter
TE Greg Olsen, Charles Clay
K Justin Tucker
DEF Seattle Seahawks
Auto-pick basically gives you the same team every time
Please can you cancel that trade I accidentally accepted? I really don't want Mike Wallace.
It's pending until Wednesday, maybe the league manager can cancel it, or else I can just trade him back to you once it's gone through.
Does ANYONE want to toss me a solid RB for Mike Wallace, if you're looking threadbare at WR2?
I've a surplus of RBs
wrong league, never mind
SONGFORSATURDAY, aka PRESTON LAMBS:
you're one inactive week away from losing your team. you didn't take part in the draft and you haven't changed your lineup in the two weeks subsequent, and there's been no activity. either let me know you're still playing or do something before the next set of matches, otherwise imma try and reassign your team
praise to the waterbug
as Andrew Luck nets me exactly 18.88 points on Monday night, to draw with the Canaries. that's pretty cool
bet that fucks both of us later on
on my bench
Bradshaw, Antonio Gates and a ridiculous decision to play Bowe rather than Sammy Watkins because I was worried about Watkins ribs. Ridiculously enough, despite missing out on 50 points there, I still nearly scored 100 and only lost because of the INT that Luck threw at the end of the Monday night game.
Worst week ever
Injured!!!!! Honestly wanted to cry watching the highlights yesterday.
Jake Locker(?!) in as QB over Cam Newton, Brandon Marshall's 22.8 and Mohamed Sanu's 16.4 languishing on the bench while Fred Jackson huffed to 5.1 in my flex position as the 'safe option'. My only solace is that I was pretty roundly trounced anyway, so it's not as if I was one sub away from glory or anything. Still blows though.
But Vernon Davies could be out :(
starting 0-2 in both leagues would kill me
But now Jamaal Charles is down, RG3 is out and I'm playing waiver wire dudes at QB after an 0-2 start. Yikes.
Conversely my Div 1 team, that I didn't much fancy after the draft, is now 2-0, although that's now battling injuries to Ryan Matthews, Eric Decker and Vernon Davis. Additional yikes.
Mind you, seems like more or less half the league got hurt or arrested this week. Total lottery so far.
Someone make me a derisory offer.
I should also say that in keeper, although they aren't on the block per se, I am entertaining offers for my exciting young RBs - Jezza Hill and Tezza West.
(fantasy's blocked in work)
I'm away on holiday tomorrow for 3 weeks. Obviously I'll be scouring rural Vietnam for internet cafés so I can entertain your trade offers but if I can't find any and I don't get back to you right away please be patient. Also, don't kick me out of the leagues if it turns out there's no internet over there. Good luck.
Unless you sent it to everyone.
Didn't fancy anyone apart from Thomas. Didn't think that would be a goer.
almost every hotel has it and most of them run a proxy so you can still get on facebook etc.
Observations: good WiFi.
Still dangling some decent WRs for a solid RB2. I'll look at offers for Sanu, Mike Wallace (from Friday when I get him back), or the returning Wes 'Ebeneezer Goode' Welker. I've updated my trading block accordingly.
It's 10 man. Toby Gerhart, Pierre Thomas, Isaiah Crowell and Khiry Robinson are all on the waiver wire...
for Robinson or Thomas. Which of those two gets the lion's share of the carries in Mark Ingram's absence is a total lottery though
Just wasn't getting the production out of him.
while Ingram's out, so go for him. Crowell won't get dick after this week when Ben Tate's back, and Toby Gerhart is called Toby.
two first names. never trust a man with two first names instead of a surname
so I think we can let him off. Going to go for Khiry I think. Let Sankey's breakout week begin...
Who's up for trading in Div II so I don't waste my time sending out proposals to everyone? I'm a busy GM.
Do YOU have a solid flex starter with a good looking week 4 matchup? If so then the Spoonerisms would like to hear from YOU. Reasonable offers WILL be considered.
lest anyone thought I was kidding about the iron first, I've today kicked Preston Lambs out the league, and he's been replaced as an owner by former DiSer kenako. As opposed to my girlfriend, because it would be too easy for me to cheat.
Bye weeks start next week, so I'll be wielding the merciless banhammer with an iron fist. and some other mixed metaphors
My teams are performing horribly at the moment. Best week in keeper yielded just under 72 points. Horrendous.
The owner has expressed his confidence in what the GM and his team are trying to achieve, but there's growing speculation that the coach's seat is getting warmer by the day.
Beginners luck? Probably.
I'm A Game of Julio Jones.
Looking to improve at WR and or TE. Anyone fancy a trade?
A pleasure I'm sure. Anyway, to business.
I have a glut of perfectly startable QBs (Cutler, Newton, Cousins), and a not so glut of RBs (thanks, auto-draft. REALLY needed those 6 WRs compared to 3 RBs. One of whom was Shonn Greene). Open to offers for any, though I'm looking for someone I can generally start ahead of Vereen.
I'll take Cutler or Newton though.
I just dumped him to free agency in my other league! I'll PM you
so it was you who took cousins!
i looked through the depth charts and figured no one else would be looking for a QB this week...
this bye week is merciless. i've got another league where nearly my entire bench is filled out with bye week players.
my 1st, 2nd and 4th round picks (ok, 1st and 2nd were kept) in keeper are on a bye. the only non-bye player i have in Div 2 is Devonta fucking Freeman
In which case reckon it should be a banger this week as I have to leave Marshall in even though he didn't practice.
the sensible thing to do would be to drop josh gordon for a tight end, but i just can't bear to do it, i've kept him this long and given half my team is built around denver players this week is almost a write off anyway.
throwing eli in for tonight since the available QBs as peyton fill-in are all shades of mediocre. am hoping peyton turns up instead disguised as eli somehow...
genuinely considered putting bortles in since this week is such a farce for me.
he gets a further ban for his DWI in early November
can't hear you!
Just woke up to see that Eli has pretty much buried me before any of my team have done anything.
sorry about that... well, sort of sorry. i turned down a trade for kirk cousins from kenako last night too, i'm feeling like a bit of a fantasy savant atm.
he started Cousins against me last night
actually, there seems to be a bit of confusion about trade timings. i will endevaour to explain, Div II
a trade has 24 hours to sit after both parties have agreed to it. that's for anyone to object. IF, during those 24 hours, one of the involved players plays, the trade can then not happen until AFTER ALL THE WEEK'S MATCHES. so, if you two had traded last night, the trade wouldn't have gone through until Tuesday morning
hope that helps
thanks for explaining
Trust me to pick the game where he stops picking up nigh on a TD and 100 yards per quarter, and resumes last year's trend of throwing to Giants' players.
No seahawks, cardinals or bengals.
I don't appreciate it also telling me to have a snickers whilst I do it.
But he's only allowed to draft players who have also been charged with domestic violence. He'll be all set for RBs I guess.
Jackson is questionable but did mega last week (when I'd benched him), Cooks is solid but not very flashy, Ivory has been rocking up points but the Lions have been great against the run so far. Hmmmmm.
unless he's definitely OUT, he's too good to bench, even when hurt
Definately the way to go.
WHAT THE FUCK
welcome to fantasy football!
But I'm sure you'd sooner be in my position right now. Your facebook update might require further comment by Tuesday morning :P
I'd say less than 10% end up missing matches on Sunday. Like Severed says, keep him in until the last minute.
I'm looking for a WR or RB, possibly both if they're shit.
anyone stuck for a Tight End? i've got a Larry Donnell going spare, fresh off a 23+ point performane tonight. he's looking like a top 6 TE this season (and we know Eli loves TEs), but i got no use for him
what I AM looking for is a good RB2/3. make me an offer, and let's talk about it
To find Eli has gone ballistic, Kirk Cousins is crap and I'm down 62-5 in keeper ON FRIDAY MORNING.
And I left Donnell on the bench in Div 1. I'm going to have to remove all sharp objects from my desk.
I drafted Eli 15th round just to cover Peyton this week. Liked the Skins matchup, Payed off.
Had the Giants D in 3 leagues this week too.
Does anyone in keeper want to make an offer for Eli? Probably won't take much given his reputation, although enough to convince me to give up some decent insurance against a Peyton injury.
fuck off mate
somewhere you can post about fantasy football
there is a haven here for you, do you see
anyway Chiefs D I could kiss ya
but not in this one. Still with my Cardinals/Bengals heavy rosters hurting in the bye week and without my star TE Jules Thomas, it could've been a whole lot worse.
will field offers for any of my WRs
so people can stop offering me Dwayne Allen/Larry Donnell for top running backs now, cheers.
LBC, your last proposal was the head scratchiest offer I've ever received.
kenako's done me again, sneaking mckinnon from under my nose. becoming a bit of a nemesis... :)
Roll on week 10
oh you better believe it's on!
Won in all my leagues. Most impressively in a matchup where I was 48pts down at 9pm Sunday but won by 36 points.
A spawny win for me in Dis div 2 where I had a poor week and an important win in Keeper which has opened things up at the top of that league after Peyton saved my bacon.
of the entire hopeless enterprise.
Imma keep trying, but if I ever meet DeSean Jackson, I will be passive-aggressively rude to him.
A lot of top teams in my leagues lost this week. A lot of them have Demarco Murray. Seattle up next for him.
and still got beat.
Benjamin dropping that TD cost me big. Also did Ebron get a TD ruled out?
so they played again and Tate scored instead.
for my 3 WRs and TE is really not going to get it done in Div 1.
Still, keeper team finally off the mark after SMASHING its way to almost 76 POINTS! #BOOM!
in keeper, as well as that Cordarelle Patterson got me 0.8
in Div II, Fitzmagic got me about 4.5 at QB, and Harvin had his 3 TDs ruled out meaning he got about 2.5
and yet *BRAGTIME*
still won all my leagues with over 100 points in all three
Thought I was safe with Vernon at TE, then he goes off injured, I pick up Donnell as he goes hot then watch him go very, very cold.
what's the deal with keepers we kept this year, next year? do they stay the same round or move up at all?
like, someone i kept from the 5th round, will they remain a 5th round pick every time i use them? or will they change year to year?
some do the opposite. probably simpler to keep them the same to be honest
Have we given any thought to adding to the three keepers for next season?
it just makes the whole thing a bit daft and potentially uncompetitive if say, someone's got Le'Veon Bell, Keenan Allen and Orange Julius for like a 10th, 14th and 15th round pick every year. means they're always going to have a massive advantage, and that just makes it a bit shitty for teams who had bad luck on the waiver wire and with late round picks, because snagging someone like that is mostly luck
i'd say players should move up a round every year, and you can only keep a first rounder once or twice. or, that you can only keep one player that'd be a first rounder each year?
As long as you do draft reasonably close to the season kick off
I think there should be some sort of rising up the rounds. If you pick someone off waivers who suddenly comes good, they can be a last round pick forever, which doesn't seem right.
2-3 and 1-4. Think I've only exceeded 80 points once so far. Expect some trade offers to come everyone's way tonight
But as ever I'm absolutely pasting random americans in the other two leagues I joined. DiS leagues are genuinely the toughest.
4-1 in my two non-DIS leagues. Golden Tate and DeSean Jackson have already been dropped by some bozo in one of them...
If it wasn't for Jeff Cocking Triplette I'd be 4-0
Half the league on 3-2 (I'd be 4-1 were it not for some absurdly misplaced faith in the Cowboys D).
Keeper is just too depressing to talk about.
If it's any consolation, your team of misfits and underperformers is the only thing keeping me from dumping all my misfits and underperformers on the waiver wire and going to live in a cave. It's no consolation, is it?
Newly renamed Wooden Calculator match is week 9. Loser leaves town forever.
A perfect storm of fantasy awfulness. Seriously tempted to cut all of these clowns loose (except lovely little Julian Edelman) and start again from scratch.
that's what positional scarcity does to you
They just all turned out to be utterly wrong. Expect Frank Gore will keep going until he's 40 seeing as I drafted Carlos Hyde too.
I have the fourth-highest scoring QB in the league going spare. am looking for a legit WR2/3 i can start most weeks. who'll trade with me?
anyone else, looking for a QB?
Looking for a high quality RB in exchange for one (or combination) of my WRs in the keeper (Crabtree, Jeffrey, Cruz, Hopkins, Sanders, Sanu). Also on the hunt for a TE
I've got Rashad Jennings banged up for the next few weeks so I need some help at RB. Talk to me.
Accepted one of lbc's too. And sent out a couple more. Love this shit.
sent a load of trade offers in both leagues. First come first served, if you refuse you might not get a second go around...
i can't decide which one of you's getting shafted, but i'm sure one really really is
had a spare TE going. Chucked in Ryan Matthews (injured, o-line looks awful, might lose carries to Oliver) and Allen Hurns (inconsistent, was going to drop him anyway)
Feels a bit win-win for me. We both got what we wanted.
when trying to trade? Says I've got too many players when I'm trading 1 for 2 but dropping one.
No problems so far.
Oh yeah, and 5 the week I started him.
I won cuz the guy I was playing against chose Eli Manning over Flacco
then Giants vs Eagles, any day of the week
Expert consensus was that Eli was the better play by a distance, not one had Flacco in the top ten.
Of course, the experts obviously know shite all.
And anyway, I'd still have lost even with Flacco playing. My team's just that good.
My QB matchups this week are Eli vs Cousins and Cousins vs Eli. Not sure how to feel about that really.
Why didn't I start Brady?
Luckily I still won my match-up, he's back in the driving seat form this point onward.
about losing, knowing that you realistically couldn't have beat someone
i had 130 points put up against me in keeper this week. there's no way anyone's winning that matchup. more than 100 and i just shrug and go "so it goes"
Looking for a decent WR2. Willing to let either Pierre Thomas or Shane Vereen go or possibly even Travis Kelce if the price is right. Make me an offer.
*Points thumbs at self*
Still, if the St Louis D are meh and Gore doesn't go on a spree, I can still win this week... who is Henne I Shrunk the Kids, they played the injured Gerhart at WR1 so I will be fuming if they win.
Eli had a good matchup and Flacco is Flacco, sometimes the wacky NFL does that to you.
beat yourself up about it, go on
And having Flacco on the bench. I just cannot make the right choice on these sort of 50-50s this year. My keeper league QB scores have been 9, 10, 13, 5, 7 and 6, total 50. Charlie Whitehurst and Christian Ponder have outscored that in their 4 combined games, and Ponder will probably never play again. How is this possible?
Currently 5th in the DiS league. I need to stop making outlandish picks like Vikings over Lions.
so probably mid table
No, they're going to run Carlos Hyde for 3 consecutive downs from the 2 yard line, and he still won't get in. Man, this game is killing me.
Depth is always good I guess...
I need your help. I have a RB nightmare.
Moreno and Ridley have just been ruled out for the season, Rashad Jennings is unlikely to play before week 9 and I have Sproles on a bye.
I'll pretty much take anything I can get right now.
I think my whole team can go on the block.
Jimmy Graham, Aaron Rodgers, TY Hilton and the rest. Just make an offer.
If you are looking at Rodgers, a QB as part of the deal would be nice, but not essential.
I have Moreno in Div I but I also have Lamar Miller so it's kind of good for me... in a way.
One trade made, but I'm still looking for another given my predicament.
I've just PM'd you
I errr maybe forgot I'd already done a waiver and accidentally tried to waiver a player twice. Anyway of cancelling this?
if you go onto your team page, there will be a list of your pending waiver claims at the top, there'll be a "[ Delete Waiver Request ]" link next to each of them.
Your boy Percy Harvin is on the trading block.
Looking for a RB2. Hit me up.
the Johnny Sacks
Though if you want Jordy it will have to be good
Will mull over them this evening and make a decision.
Earlier in the week I tried to pick up the Pats defence because the Eagles are on their bye, I left it the required day or process, just been in to set my team and it apparently didn't go through? Just tried to pick up another defence, and nothing has happened at all, not even a trade pending notice or anything.
Go to the league tab and have a look at the transactions.
The second bit is weird, was the defence in question a free agent or on waivers?
the Packers D (hmm) is now mine...
GOOD CALL, COACH.
How is it possible to both hate and enjoy a game so much?
Dropped him after 6 two and three point weeks in a row, someone else picked him up and he scored about 20 points that week.
Come on CJ Spiller! PROVE ME WRONG.
making wanker signs behind my back. Last week 0.7, this week 23.4.
Just wanted to say thanks, he's way better than Palmer who was my QB2.
i.e., the person who still has the power to kick you out the league
you've started inactive players for two consecutive weeks; this week one of your players is on a bye. let me know by Tuesday lunchtime why this is and if you're still playing. if so, you get one last chance. otherwise, Trumpet gets your team for this week's waiver requests and thereafter. #ironfist
Trumpet, check your PMs
Averaging ~110 points a game over the season.
The 'fish are less convincing, they need Le'veon Bell to outscore Randy Bullock to get the W tonight. If there's one guy you don't want to be going up against, it's Randy Bullock.
You can also thank me for leaving well over 70 points on the bench. It may even outscore my actual team, another new low.
Come on Watt.
Fortunately the rest of the team made up for poor old Matt Ryan's paper offensive line and Jordan "oh wait, I play for the Browns" Cameron.
FAO Div 1, officially shopping for a QB who's available in week 9 (and possibly beyond if the Falcons keep starting the first 5 fat men who show up on their O-Line.
My days as an auditor are numbered too, thank fuck. The Golden Calculator can stay though, I'll still be pushing numbers around.
Outside of the cushy hours, better pay and general better working conditions I don't see the appeal.
I'm hoping to add job satisfaction, no timesheets and an almost total disregard of FRS102 to your list.
than the '14 Pigeons. By gum they're impressive (until DeMarco Murray gets injured).
This is not a laughing matter.
Just pick up Joe Randle and appreciate the good times while they last.
gonna have me one of them backfield committees.
Both were marked bright red to avoid in my draft spreadsheet. Oh well, at least I got Toby Gerhart.
I was/am well scared of his injury history. Nearly used a keeper on Gerhart too, so many bullets dodged.
Shortly to be none.
I have an abundance of half decent WR's, looking to trade some away for an RB. If you want, I will throw Romo into the trade as well.
No, this isn't a duplicate post, just keeping things separate.
I have Ronnie Hillman needing a new home and I'm looking for equivalent RB's. Anyone interested?
He really got me out of the mire this weekend. You're the best.
I'm choosing to blame Brandon Weeden.
despite sitting Brees (25.04) and Heath Miller (17.20).
The Canaries GM was quoted as putting it down to "a real team spirit, there is no one star in the squad (other than DeMarco Murray)"
you've now started inactive players or players on a bye two weeks in a row, and over three weeks in total. you're no longer in Division 2.
Rest of Division 2, Trumpet'll hopefully be taking his place.
let me know. need some cover for a weak bye week and a late push.
Despite numerous overtures from Les Poissons front office during the season. Team's hitting form at just the right time plus Matt Forte will be back for next week's primetime showdown with the Pigeons.
I have Brady and Gronk on a bye though. They've basically carried me to 7 wins on the bounce so I'm not confident about this weekend.
i need to know basically for my late-season waiver and trade strategies
as far as i can tell, the rule whereby picks move up one round per season is fairly common in fantasy in general, i also think it's fair as it mitigates the effect of having one lucky draft
A small recompense to the fans who have stuck gallantly by the team this year and burnt only the bear minimum of effigies of the manager.
Nick Foles being done the year adds injury to...well, more injury. With the first pick all but secure the fans are now vocally behind the spirited "suck for whoever the best player that doesn't get kept on turns out to be" campaign (better name pending).
so I could make sure of first pick next year. Then I decided salvaging some sort of pride from the season would probably be better. Just about.
who was 7th ish in RBs last year, and this year, well....
If so man you've had an unlucky run looking at the amount of points and wins you must have played everyone at exactly the wrong time. Also Brady.
and yeah, it's only luck rather than any reflection on me. losing with 128 points is pretty special. i lost another match-up by about .16. i'm not worried, as the Commish i'll just not invite back people i think are too good next year ;)
and I swear I thought our score in the morning was me fever dreaming and seeing double. Like you say losing comfortably with 128 points is nuts.
I didn't update my team this week. I thought I had. Fuck it's been a tough week
Yes, that's fine (even though I was cheekily hoping to be able to play him tonight). Annoying that you can't just reply all to the emails.
I love me a blockbuster trade.
That's a doozy.
If they could just mail it to two months ago we'll be fine.
I'm trying to put panthers Def and Kicker in for tonight to try and see out a win and it let me add one but now its saying there's an error when I try and do the other?
but dropped someone i didn't want to. I'd say PLEASE DON'T TOUCH HIM but tbh it won't be a disaster if i don't get him back/it's annoying when people do that anyway
Even more annoying as currently my score this week is the second highest in Div 1. Yet I'm about to lose... Can't catch a break this year.
But not because of fantasy.
He completely bailed me out of a tough week.
In that every single offensive player on each team chose this week to royally shit themselves. Looks like the Pigeons will sneak it with a score of around 60 : /
Not the spectacle that the masses were hoping for. I could do with some of my Div I luck being transferred to my keeper team - those guys can't catch a break.
Scored more than my QB, RB1 and TE put together.
fuck off mate, fuck off
LeCh and LeCh need a moderately decent QB for the limp to the finish line. No-one spectacular, just someone who won't score negative points. Make a sensible offer please (so anything but a draft pick or Julian Edelman really).
I've sent you an offer
I just need someone for the next 5 weeks who I can chuck overboard as soon as the season ends, Kellen Clemens style.
But I didn't want to highlight that!
he's even worse than some of the stuff on waiver wire, but if you're that desperate...
In my non- DiS one I played Bobby fucking Rainey instead of him. I have absolutely no idea what was going through my head.
To commemorate the week that my beloved Spoonerisms beat their projected score for the year (B-, 7-7, projected finish: 7th. In your smug face, Fabiano) unless Antonio Brown somehow manages to score minus 26 points, who have been your biggest draft hits and misses?
Hits: Antonio Brown in the 3rd round, obviously. Broke my golden rule of picking at least two RBs in the first 3 rounds in taking him but only because Zac Stacy was picked immediately before him. Also pleased with Jeremy Hill in the 10th round, Travis Kelce in the 14th and my decision to forgo picking a backup QB in favour of just fishing one off waivers when the time came (and thanks again to the person who dropped Ben Roethlisberger).
Misses: Toby fucking Gerhart (round 4). He'll be getting 20 touches a game with no consistent passing game, they said. Also Jordan Cameron in the 6th round (for managing to accrue a Wes Welker amount of concussions in about 3 games) and Hakeem Nicks in the 13th (he'll be GREAT now he's catching passes from someone that isn't Eli right? RIGHT?).
You can talk about keeper too if you want but no-one wants you to.
Hits: My top trio of Dez, Gio and Alshon Jeffrey have been solid, also picked up DeAndre Hopkins and Carlos Hyde later on. Drafted Jordan Matthews and Mike Evans but stupidly dropped them. Tre Mason and Denard Robinson have been good waiver pickups too.
Misses: No real massive clunkers apart from CJ Spiller, Jordan Reed and He Who Shall Not Be Named. Feel like I've been unlucky to go 3-8.
Hits: Emmanuel Sanders in the 6th and keeping Alshon Jeffrey for a 10th were pretty smart moves. Picked up Denard Robinson, Tre Mason and Justin Forsett along the way too.
Misses: *sighs*. No idea why I kept Doug Martin for a 1st. Other keeper, Zac Stacy, I flat out dropped. Michael Crabtree has been spotty. Cruz, Pitta and Ridley out for the year. Ladarius Green and Teddy haven't broken out like I thought they would. Matt Ryan's been average fantasy-wise again. Wasted a 4th rounder on He Who Shall Not Be Named.
Keeping Peyton for a 4th was a no brainer, but my 3rd pick Gore hasn't set the world alight, Pierre Thomas was an awful pick in the 5th. Tavon Austin and Eric Ebron in 10th and 11th even worse.
Basically Peyton has carried me and Eli in the 15th was great for the one week Peyton had his bye.
Div 2 projected 4-10 and currently 8-2 (going 9-2)
Aaron Rodgers in the 2nd round a good pick. Sanders in the 6th was good, although I traded him just before he really broke out.
MJD in the 7th was dreadful as was RG3 in the 9th, although I've not needed him. Martellus Bennet a great pick up at 10 and covered well for first rounder Jimmy Graham.
Really not sure how I'm doing as well as I am in either league on reflection.
Hit on all my top 5 picks which always helps. D. Thomas, Murray, Cobb, Gronk, Brady have all been great. Lamar Miller was a good use of an 8th rounder, although that's partly because of the Moreno injury. Golden Tate was a good pickup also. And a special mention for my boy Cody Parkey who's been a revelation at the all important kicker position. Haven't done much trading in this league as I haven't needed to really. Soon to be 8-3 and hopefully still top of the pile after my 8 game winning streak was snapped.
Spent my 1st rounder on AP. Other than that it's been OK, my other keepers - Forte and Le'Veon Bell - have been great. Landed Kelvin Benjamin in the late rounds and he's been great. Roddy White is coming good in recent weeks. Been happy with my trade work in this league, getting Julius Thomas was looking good until his injury yesterday. I still think Keenan Allen will be alright. What's mostly been holding me back in this league is dodgy QB play, hopefully one of Cutler or Kaep will go on a good run in the coming weeks. About to go to 7-4 which will hopefully put me in the top 4.
It was Torrey Smith. Safe to call that one a miss.
To point out that I kept Torrey Smith (4th round) and the Seahawks D (7th round). I made Al Davis look like a misunderstood drafting genius in that league.
It was me who dropped Roethlisberger by the way. He was bringing the karma levels of my side down so I had to let him go. The monk would have been proud.
I took Shady, Ellington, Antonio Brown with first three picks. If they'd been rounds 3,2,1 i'd be laughing, but they were 1,2,3. still fine though. Shady's been mostly ok. elsewhere my drafting sucked, hence why i've got Forsett (traded for), Mike Evans (waiver), Malcolm Floyd floating around. Harvin was a bad 5th (i think) rounder. can't remember if i drafted or waiver'd Kelce. worst draft was Tom Brady, because he was the only QB. had 4 terrible games, ditched him for being the worst QB in fantasy football, then he gets good. if wilykit crows about picking him up at me once more, i might go full paranoid iron fist.
my three keeps, Lynch (1), Demaryius (2) and Luck (5) have been good. elsewhere my drafting was abominable. Patterson (3), Ben Tate (4), just no. got Bernard Pierce in the 8th then felt like the best drafter in the world when Ray Rice got dumped. that worked out well. god knows how i'm going 7-3-1 because i don't deserve it. and i have next to no viable keepers next year if all my keepers from last year move up a round as they by rights should
however, there is another league i'm in which i'm 11-0 in, with RBs Lacy, Murray, Forsett, WRs A.Brown, Jeffrey, Hopkins, Watkins. that's a pretty good situation
Hits - Steve Smith late on, Ridley before he got hurt. Made some decent trades too, got the one decent week out of Vernon Davis before he seems to have flat out died. I mean, he is actually dead now, as far as I can tell.
Misses - the aforementioned Davis. Haven't exactly got what was advertised out of Drew Brees or Megatron really, but there's still time. T Rich, but he was only round 8, so was a calculated gamble.
Keeper hits - went Charles, Vereen, Gronk, errrr CJ1K, Nelson, Fitzgerald, so pretty solid. Still went 1-7 to start with, mainly because my luck with QBs and injuries was appalling. Boldin in round 11 too.
Misses - Chris Johnson was/is nothing short of pathetic. RG3 was crap and got hurt. My rolling cast of RG3, Eli, Flacco, Cousins etc at QB, who for the first 8 weeks somehow contributed far less than even the Jags QBs would have done.
Keeper team is flying now that it's far, far too late.
Hits: Taking DeMarco Murry as my first pick turned out to be the greatest decision I could've made, especially considering I was a) the 12th pick, and b) I eenie-meenie-minie-moed between him and Montee Ball. Dez Bryant has been solid as well, Chris Ivory was banging at the start of the season, and DeSean Jackson has had more hits than misses. Off the waiver, the Eagles D has been good (well, -3 yesterday, but +31 the week before), Denard Robinson has been pleasant and Kendall Wright has seen me right. Having really done any trading because I don't really know how it works and I'm scared of making anyone a terrible offer.
Misses: I've had a shocker with QBs. First I dropped Big Ben because he was stinking up the place (you're welcome Steved) then I've been running with Eli and Flacco, playing whichever one happened to suck the most. It's been awful. And Vernon Davis was a high draft pick whose done fuck all (managed to swap him for Larry Donnell... after Donnell had his big week).
After last year's winning division followed playoff capitulation, I was absoluely gutted to miss the draft but it could have been a hell of lot worse.
- Andrew Luck, who I never would have drafted myself (prefer to draft QB's a lot later) has been great
- L'eveon Bell, Alfred Morris and Ahamad Bradshaw has been a very solid running game
- Gates has exceeded expectations at TE
- Managed to pick up the Lions defence and the no.1 kicker that have served me well
- AP (no. 1 pick overall)
- My recieving has been a mess all season, it started off Crabtree, Decker, Randle, Watkins and Bowe. It hasn't improved much, it's now Watkins, Bryant. M, Decker, Landry, Williams. T (that looks alright in keeper though!)
Solid but unspectacular work on the wire. Martavis Bryant being the best aquisition so far, I think.
I reckon the same's going to happen this year, we'll make playoffs but miss out.
Hits: Lamar Miller, Kelvin Benjamin and Beast Mode now he's woke up again have been a solid base.
Getting Tom Brady off the waiver wires was brilliant and made even more delicious by Brusma's outrage.
Kapernick has been incredibly frustrating and Marshall seems to have been injured all year despite being targeted a shed tonne. Got told my draft was shit but seemingly what do they know.
He has flat out murdered my lingering hopes of a playoff spot in Div 1. Him and Cody fucking Parkey. 21 points and still had time to miss another FG.
what's the ettiquette for cheering on kickers going up against the team you support...?
tight in all my matches. Div 2, i've got a .5 lead with Justin Forsett vs the Bills D to come. speaking of which...
i've got Forsett, opponent has the Bills D.
TDs only please Ravens, cheers.
I'm also adding Isaiah Crowell to my list of futile fantasy grudge players. Thanks for listening everyone.
He's been shite recently, but I put him in my lineup anyway because I thought he might have a bounce back against his old fantasy team like he did against his old irl team. Logic.
Henne I Shrunk The Kids has started a player on a bye this week. if he's got a record for playing inactive players or anything, he's outta here faster than Jalen Saunders at the Jets.
who wants to be first in the queue to replace? and if you already asked, can you point me in the direction of where you did, i forgot
Which is a bit more forgivable
I meant Les Savy Favre. the guy i'm playing. he started Greg Olsen who's on a bye
SORRY, HENNE I SHRUNK THE KIDS. YOU CAN STAY IN THIS TIME
Didn't want to drop either of them or anyone else so just started Dwayne Allen. Didn't think much of it on Sunday afternoon as I was projected the win with 0 from my TE anyway. Ended up losing by 1.04 (or .06 less than Buffalo's Chris Gragg scored)
Gutted as I would've only been 1 game out of 4th place.
That's why I'm going the play offs
to be honest, my team doesn't really deserve to get to the playoffs as I didn't give it enough attention in the first half of the season. If I make the consolation playoff bracket I'll be happy.
week 4 with julius thomas on bye, playing wilykit. massively regretting that now.
Brusma is looking for any reason to kick me out over Bradygate. So I'm sure he'll buy into it.
By the way he had yet ANOTHER 300 yd game Brusma so cheers.
I need a solid WR to see me past the line, any interest in Alex Smith?
For some tasty, tasty draft picks.
oh lol. well if anyone out on contention fancies dropping guys, that would be nice too
but I would have appreciated an auto email reminder about the trade deadline. Completely passed me by.
I still need someone to take over from Les Savy Favre. if no-one comes forward by say 5pm tomorrow, i'll take over the team myself and run it til the end of the year, no waiver pickups unless no eligible players to start at a position. how does that sound, Div II?
I'm such an outside bet for the playoffs - I think I need to win out and hope 2 out of 3 teams above me lose every game. Unlikely, but the dream lives on at the Lincoln-AT&T-Rentokil Arena
Most people on this thread will already be in one of these leagues.
How do the playoffs work? How many teams go through, when do they start, etc...
Semis (heh) are week 15, final week 16. Think it's done that way because the real teams will rest most of their starters in week 17. Think there's also a play-off for the fifth-eighth placed teams as well.
And seeing as you mentioned the play-offs (and I've been waiting all morning for someone to mention them), a big thanks to CJ Anderson for carrying the Spoonerisms to the Div 1 post-season (and to the Ferrets for waiving him).
KEEP THE DREAM ALIVE.
Currently 0.48 points in front in keeper with no players left to play, but I don't dare celebrate.
i need about 9 points from Ryan Tannehill and Caleb Sturgis against the Jest tonight to beat the 10-2 league-leading Spitfires, which'll take me 7-6, and i was 3-6.
and i topped 130 points in Keeper, where the Borts have to be looking like early favourites to take the crown in their first season - unprecedented!
Might rest the big guns next week.
handoff to Trent Richardson for a gain of one
I'll hopefully be out of this league next season anyway!
Where that one guy lets his paranoid opponent set his lineup for him.
think i might have killed my playoff hopes by forgetting to sub out alfred blue. :(
Sadly it was in vain as I can't reach the playoffs. Can't decide if we'll be rebuilding or reloading next year, or what the difference is.
Felt even worse when I saw they'd left Tre Mason and DeAndre Hopkins on the bench.
Then I saw the absolute shoeing the Ferrets 2 gave me in keeper and felt slightly better.
The 8-5 B52's have made the Div 2 playoffs for the second year in a row.
Please don't choke again.
On another note - I remember logging in drunk on Friday evening/ night, woke up Saturday and I had Ray Rice in my squad.
Must be the unluckiest team in this thing. I remember they scored plenty of points last year and didn't make the playoffs.
This year they have the most points in the league and are 6-7.
with two playoff spots
and no, i have no idea what the tiebreaker is. and if it's head-to-head record, i have no idea how that's going to work out, just in case i wouldn't get in and i go and change the tie-breaker to overall points to ensure my place (i think?)
You're London Riots, right?
But seriously, once again, for what might be the eighth week in a row, I benched the wrong QB. I haven't successfully picked which one of Eli or Flacco would do best for months, to the point where it was annoying, then it became funny, and now it's actually causing me pain. Like, even if I'd tossed a coin, I would have done better. Or just stuck with one even through the bad weeks. Fuck the pair of them. Fuck everything.
The highest scoring team award is the real quiz ;)
Peckham Spitfires, Brighton B52s and Insankey Clown Posse, making the Division 2 playoffs alongside A Game of Julio Jones.
a real mixed bunch this - Spitfires were relegated last year, Brighton B52s made the playoffs but missed out on promotion last year, Insankey Clown Posse only started around week 3 after a previous inactive owner was booted, showing that's possible. I'll be rooting for Brighton, after they just missed out last year
Funny year for B52's this year
Ended up top scorer in the league but worst coach (most points left on the bench.) Luck and LeVeon Bell have been hugely influential.
The playoff match up is looking like Brady and Beast Mode versus Luck and Le-Veon Bell.
Julio Jones won the regular season match up pretty easily IIRC. B52's are on a 2 game winning streak, AGoJJ on a 2 game loser.
May the best team win!
First job is to get to the final and secure promotion.
Been a starange one for me also. I've had a bit of luck with matchups but still deserve top 4 I think, if not perhaps to win the regular season.
Now for some glory.
Starting to dream of back to back championships after winning the inaugural Div II last year. Probably more likely to get humped by the Spoonerisms on Sunday though.
Brave New Worilds in the Keeper League didn't fare so well and barely scraped .500. Cutting Julio Jones last year followed by trading away Jamaal Charles will haunt this team for a long time.
Also the highest point scorer. Bow down.
A real RAGS TO RICHES story given I finished bottom last year. Looks like my "suck for AJ Green" campaign worked ok in the long run (didn't know he'd be available....). Also pretty chuffed to be highest point scorer with Mark Ingram and Lamar Miller as starting RBs.
Meanwhile Division 1 has been a disaster. Despite a late rally I have finished third from bottom. (Does that mean I get relegated?)
Mixed emotions in the Johnny Sacks HQ this morning.
I was top of keeper for so long and had a miserable run to drop out of the playoffs
5 for me - Luck, Alfred Morris, LV Bell, Sammy Watkins and Gostkowski.
5 for B52's - Luck, Alfred Morris, LV Bell, Sammy Watkins and Gostkowski.
I've been aproper Harry Redknapp, me.
Everyone but Caleb Sturgis and CJ Anderson has been here since day one. Various flex players have come and gone but in total 10 of my 15 draftees are still on the books.
Patterson and Fitzgerald were my biggest busts, most of the other players I've let go were late picks.
That's consistency. Missed out on 1st by ~2.3 points in keeper (assuming the tie breaker is points scored which it should be). Missed out on 1st in Div I by virtue of conceding the 5th most points in the league. What I'm trying to say is I AM THE BEST.
a most frustrating year. didn't even make the consolation ladder in div 2 based I presume on head-to-head results...
I don't know how this is actually possible....
if that's any consolation?
i know your game, next year I'll have won enough head to heads to make the playoffs but i'll get thrown out by some cheeky sod who puts up 200 points in one week.
i wasn't born yesterday you know...
i had the best points scored of all the 8-6ers yet still missed out on head to head
though i did discover there's a feature where you can actually cherry pick who's in the playoffs yourself as a league manager...
Intrigued to see the potential promotion candidates.
My prediction - it's the B52s' championship to lose.
And we totally fell apart.
If there are any spots for keeper next year I'd be very interested.
Fancy Brave New Worilds for a no. 4 seed upset in Div 1. He's agot a lot of the form horses.
Still expect to get pasted by the B52s but just happy to be there.
COME ON BEAST MODE!
I'm back to talk smack about fantasy playoffs.
Keeper and Division 1, consider yourselves... warned.
You're a dick for starting Rams D, Joique Bell, and TY Hilton and subsequently knocking me off my perch in Div I. This week it won't be so easy!! (it could well be)
The B52's post season misery contiues as they slip to 0-3 all time, courtesy of losing to a 4th quarter Parkey field goal 87.28 - 87.38.
That's the equivalent of 1 yard running.
I'm not going to lie, it's going to be difficult to get the lads up for the promotion eliminator.
Played fella. Literally couldn't have been any tighter.
As you can see, the coach is taking it in his stride.
Andrew Luck and Le'Veon Bell are still in the dressing room crying.
to make the Keeperbowl. Ordinarily I'd think that was a sure thing from a QB and star RB but this is the Bears we're talking about and they can't be trusted.
I'm in the Div I bowl for the third straight year.
How on earth I can get 36 points from OBJ and still lose is beyond me.
my roster's no better than 6th or 7th overall and i'd be an unworthy winner
That's cool. Totally OK with that.
The fantasy gods would have been totally justified if they had chosen to punish me for benching Jeremy Hill but Matt Forte came through, same as he always does, and the Spoonerisms snuck into their first DiS Bowl by a comfortable 0.92 points.
Really hoped Mark Ingram would win it for me but it just wasn't meant to be.
Also LeSean McCoy can go fuck himself with his inconsistent performances this season. That shitcunt won't be anywhere near my draft board come September.
and make them fight on our level. I'm not confident, the fish had the Swans dead to rights twice this year.
Still glad I made one final at least.
to unveil my white paper* on SWEEPING REFORMS for the Keeper League.
Hint: the aim is to be at the stage where we exclusively draft rookies/FAs within 2 years.
*really long post
I'd be cool with that.
maybe another league is needed...
there are more keepers for next season. Maybe set to 5 or 6?
Kind of feel a little bit lucky to be honest, won a few really tight games thanks to the way the byes worked out but I must have built a pretty consistent team anyway. Mad props goes to my boy Parky, I know a kicker shouldn't be your favourite player but I can't help it.
Glad I'm going up though, be good to get away from Brusma's iron fist.
Tempted to use a keeper on him.
Courtesy of a 2 yard stat correction for Johathan Stewart.
Pretty gutting but this is my first time in a league so its all a learning curve. You lucky boy.
Good luck in the promotion decider, hope to see you in Div 1 next year!
This would already have been done had Andrew Luck not had a stinker (0.36)
But if I'd made it to the final only to have Andrew Luck put up 0.36 points I'd legitimately be sending him hate mail for the rest of my days. He's been fantasy gold all season, what a week to put up those numbers.
I would have won the championship too on this form
But The Drinking Swans are looking good to hold on unless Julius Thomas goes off like this firework display https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6QtigLJD_4
Which will be ironic as I traded him (in part) for Jeremy Hill. Who is probably going to ice the final for me as the Swans seek to run the clock out.
Regular season Div 2 champ, last in the playoffs.
My running backs basically fell to pieces at the run in.
I've won an NFL league this year, look to have won my league of record and got a 3rd place elsewhere. Those were all 10 teamers.
12 teams I'm 4th in div 2 and likely 7th in keeper, unless Peyton can't get 2.5 points this evening.
14th in my mental 20 teamer. Somehow a team below me in division qualified for the consolation bracket in that league and I didn't. Thanks NFL.com.
Might sack that one off next year, the scoring system is messed up.
It was a pasting by the end, the Jeremy Hill trade really came back to bite me. You definitely won that one, Julius pretty much went in the tank as soon as I signed him. The second biggest mistake I made all year was starting Griffin over Kaepernick this week but that ended up not mattering as the rest of my team laid an egg.
The Pigeons managed to win the Div I crown for the 2nd year running, mostly due to that AJ Green injury. Unlucky Steved!
with Mark Sanchez at QB
But congratulations anyway.
