People who call gigs "shows"
but mostly because I think "gig" is a terrible word.
I'm going to a gig
a gig is like some small local post rock bands playing at a bar
a concert is at the o2 arena
a show is at a theatre
i usually just go for something "hey i'm gonna go see some bands playing in town" or that kind of awkward workaround
i don't go to see bands that people would know tbh
The second one is ok in some instances
If I went to see a comedian I'd much prefer to call it a comedy show or something than a gig
Is it a Scottish thing, or just an older generational thing?
who made you the god of the english language?
people who call trainers 'kicks'
they anger andyvine
he thinks its not fine
even though he goes around sucking dicks
people who call fingers 'hand toes'
can't they just leave him be
stop adding to his great list of woes
fuck. off. right. now.
Transformers 4? a movie
Boyhood? a film
"skin flicks", to make porno sound classy
Only heard this in the Blackburn/Accrington area. Also, in Clitheroe: a "dinkie" as slang for an Ecstasy tablet
Either stop making things up or leave the boards
you're only allowed to tell him to fuck off and that he's a dick if you're his friend.
I don't like saying gig really. I don't know why. I'm not sure what I say instead
NO USING ANY OF THE WORDS IN IT THOUGH
Calling them 'movies' is bad enough. Really, really dislike adults using that term.
Not sure why tbh.
I stayed with some Americans recently and we went to lots of shows and I had to start referring to them as shows so they knew what I was talking about. After saying it enough times I came round to the idea of them being called shows. Think I prefer it now.
always knew you were the best one of those Manc degenerates
I'll give you that
