The half a pint and some pork scratchings I left out last night were gone this morning, Jake Bugg has been!
Also a friend is on the lookout for an Arcade Fire ticket if anyone has a late spare?
Ok, so have effectively reallocated thousands of pounds out of the hands of an evil (probably) events organisation into the pockets of needy DiSers, simultaneously bringing music joy to hundreds in the process, but give it a rest ffs...
I'm going to be a sweaty mess at various points this afternoon. I might have a tactical shower before I leave work, so as to eliminate the build up from my morning and my lunchtime walks, especially as I'm not sure if I'll have time to shower tomorrow morning, before our friends who we're staying with go to work. showers, eh.
Very nearly ruined two pounds and fifty pence gig day for myself.
see bands = more expensive beers
later, less bands = more cheaper beers
at a gig you paid £2.50 for.
Neil Young only for me. I'm gonna go for the WHOLE DAY and watch ALL THE BANDS and drink ALL THE BEERS.
(i'm coming to that too now, probably just see the national and go again, on holiday next day innit)
I'll probably sit through them though. Mostly excited about the Half Moon Run/Phosphorescent one-two. Might leave after that actually and just spend the evening in the pub instead.
but yeah someone here suggested that, could be a plan!
this is going to be good!
thanks again plasnik!
not going to see any of you as i'm hanging with real life peeps - but hope you all have an amazing time!
Should be good, though looking forward to Sabbath/Motorhead tomorrow a bit more.
looks like a glorious summer evening is on the cards for £2.50 day.
did you all get that cheeky "£20 for premium view" email today? Promoters are a bunch of jokers i swear
I'm trying to leave early, but going to struggle to get there before 6.
looking at 530ish for me, hopefully wont be too tricky for all of us to find each other
buy a tshirt and CD bundle yeah?
neil, the national, arcade fire etc there princely sums
he will play just one 65 minute long song.
just one long jam with a hundred solos
dm me your email address and how many you want and first come first served
I don't need tickets I just wanted to make that pun
square with DiS's belief that musicians should get paid a decent rate?
I suppose you'll all be telling Ozzy he should be doing it for the experience/exposure, and that Hyde Park is a regular hangout for record label A&Rs so there's definitely maybe a chance that Sabbath might possibly get talented spotted and given a six album major label deal.
You lot are basically the Monto Water Rates of big gigs.
it meant all the bands are now getting paid £2.50 each now and they're all well pissed off about it. Arcade Fire - there's about 10 of them right? They're gonna get 25p each now out of these gigs and that's simply not on.
Think we all need to think about what we've done. Might give £50 to Barclaycard for them to pass on to the bands.
(I couldn't give a shit in this case, I'd never have gone if tickets weren't £2.50.)
With the year 11s and I left myself some tinnies in the food tech room fridge so i can grab then after work and drink on the train. Be at Hyde park about 5ish.
Does anyone have a spare poking about? I want to see Backstreet Boys.
P.S: Arcade Fire later. I am so excited!!!
which I'm planning to
Also, I am short. I gat lost in a crowd.
I've given them all to other tall people
I got one.
Stand back when I pull out the dance moves!
let us know either way. cheers.
what a guy. thanks!
give her a PM
same to el.
The tickets obviously weren't selling, I think all of this was intentional anyway and I'm sure band should rather play to more people than less.
The tickets still haven't sold out, regardless. Get a grip you miserable twats.
ALSO I'M GOING TO SPEND LOTS OF MONEY ON BEER.
Who's jumping on their high horse?
But Steve got our tickets a few days ago.
(we both bought tickets cos we weren't sure the other had/wanted to get in their quick) the weird thing is I actually bought mine before he bought his.
6:15 PM Wolfmother (acoustic)
AH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAAAA
Got a four pack chilling in the fridge.
We won't be there until after 7 but I'll PM you my number (on FB) in case you haven't got it. x
Text me back ahoy
I'm going to leave in one HOUR
Reckon they will accept etickets on an ipad, spent a couple of hours trying to get the drivers to work on my printer and have given up, do Internet cafés still exist
...almost certain that they won't accept otherwise. There are a bunch of internet cafes on Edgware Road if you need to do it near the park. Otherwise, does anyone know if that Easy Intenet Cafe is still open by Marble Arch?
Yeah think I'd better try find one, I can easily imagine a situation where they could easily scan the barcode on my phone but refuse. Got proper told off at Brixton academy even though it worked fine.
not very environmentally friendly to get thousands of people to print something out that can be scanned on a phone...lots of cinemas & even easyjet let you scan on your phone now...so much more convenient
Too scared to try again.
I have two tickets to Sabbath.
Will take 1 if still available? Will pm you
