"We don't recognise or respect the EU flag or anthem. They are both symbols of our servitude inside a political union which the British people reject"
fucking hate this country so much
Xander Salmon is the Scottish version of Farage? they seem to have the same 'don't want to be governed by people who live xxx miles away' rhetoric.
'who the hell is Xander Salmon?'
i'm sure they'll be back to guzzling expenses and doing nothing for them soon enough
Because it can happen with such impunity.
and generally being a bunch of complete fuckfaces, actually.
and knocks them back in line a little bit.
The funny thing about it is that is that it was/is child's play next to the level of expenses corruption at the EU, but because no one understands how it works (due to deliberate obfuscation by the EU institutions) it gets a pretty much free pass and MEPs just carry on milking it. Why wouldn't they?
Everytime anyone mentions reform of the EU they just get shouted down as xenophobes or Little Englanders, which suits MEPs quite well as it deflects attention away from them. And if there was a genuine discussion about reform it would be wonderfully ill-informed as no-one understands the EU or how it works, and therefore has no idea what reform would look like in actuality anyway.
We'll just chalk this up as 1 to me, shall we, and you can shake your fist impotently before the next attempt...
if 'we' hadn't isolated ourselves so much from the rest of the EU.
there's a burning ambition for reform in Brussels and its Britain's potential withdrawal that's holding it all back.
A nice slice of reform would sort that out.
And also if your lot had let Clegg have a stab at Lords reform, he wouldn't have pulled his support of boundary changes and you'd probably be sitting pretty in terms of the seats you need to get re-elected.
Funny how things all work out.
What kind of dribbling moron votes UKIP to give someone a ridiculously well paid holiday from their lives? Presumably the same sort of person who self-identifies as a US style Liberal, completely opposed to our tax money being wasted...
That it's much harder for the EU to pass through legislation.
People from a party that's passionately against paying people to do nothing, I should point out.
Bearing in mind that EU legislation is important to things like our fishing industry, for example. The problem is that by being just 'against' the EU without thought you run the risk of fucking up a lot of stuff that relies on nations actually interacting.
Welcome to the Common Agricultural Policy - EU policy making at its finest.
Anyone that says they truly understand its minutiae is lying.
Not after that flagrant half truth.
and campaign to leave it. That's the whole point.
