whats happening then?
reorganises who it allocates its smaller pot of money too, some organisations suffer, some do a bit better.
rich (bigger organisations) getting rich (same or more funding), poor (smaller organisations) getting poorer (less or no funding). but not in every case.
(out of 691 arts orgs)
thats good news then.
I hope their 'take it away' music loans thing remains, that was a great idea
do you mean street music?
but I know the Arts Council in the mid-00s used to give money out for any old shite. Seriously I used to hang around with a load of people who seemed to use Arts Council funding as their main source of income while they fiddled around with whatever artistic follies they fancied doing. Weird stuff.

Couldn't give enough money away :D
I used to work in funding in those days, not arts funding, but yeah you would think it would be really competitive but really it was a case of giving away the money to anyone who would take it
the NPO days are horrendous.
Loads of really upset people in the arts orgs and within ACE
they've cut funding for disabled students, which means i'll probably lose my job (N)
Shall I get him to post in this thread? You can ask him questions like in reddit.
Just a first name will do
I used to design the funding applications so can do an AMA if you want
Great bunch o' lad
Best possible outcome for us everything considered, and a huge sense of relief. Other organisations in our building and near us have also done well, all retaining their funding at the standstill level and a couple even getting minor increases.
