Hello DiS. We're halfway through 2014 - how's it been for you so far? And what are your hopes for the rest of this year?
Hope to not be so busy.
off to Center Parcs in 20 mins!
i had the opportunity to properly evaluate which parts about myself i actually liked and which i didn't and should leave behind. you don't get that every day.
but also started going the longer way to work so I can see the Heron.
So pretty much an even year so far
Moving houses/flats quite a lot, had an incredibly stressful relationshipy thing that has absolutely done my head in. Score: 3/10.
But it will all be worth it if I can make a good go of 2014 Part 2 (Attack of the Clones) and actually start doing something worthwhile or least having fun.
It really has gone INCREDIBLY quickly so far though which is worrying.
got a decent haircut
things have picked up.
I won a fiver on euromillions and just got two consultancy jobs!
New job I started at the end of last year going well.
Missus has got into the uni she wanted and has got a decent new job
Everythings coming up milhouse
Gone from 55 hour weeks to 40 hours for only a slight pay cut. So much happier.
Getting lots of climbing in and feeling in generally great shape physically and mentally.
In the second half of the year I want to resurrect my music project. Vaguely considering popping the question to the GF after 7 years, but weighing up wedding costs vs. house deposit.
finished uni, got enough hours to tide me over without having to move back home, now in the fun stage of looking for a real job. eurgh
slowly getting all teh things doen i want / need to be done
It's been a mixed bag.
- Getting used to living on my own - stressing about bills and cleaning and all the stuff that you forget when you share it with someone.
- found out my disgusting ex cheated on me with his best female friend (who was and is still engaged to someone else), not sure how long it went on for. That was a down moment.
- Getting used to studying as well as working - which is stressful
Overall, it's been tough, but I am enjoying it. I know it will be great soon as I am almost over the hump.
Gf is doing a PGCE which has been absurdly stressful and not fun in the slightest for either of us. It'll be over in a couple of weeks though and we can put it behind us, find a flat of our own somewhere and we're seeing out the year in Iceland which should be brilliant.
it's been terrible, as always
Met lots of new people.
Enjoyed it so far.
about forty times better than last year
Good new flat
Good half year
2nd half of the year....leaving my job & moving to hong kong with the the thinly veiled... the rest of the year is the great unknown...exciting!
Think I did OK at uni
getting treated like shit at my work, really hurting from a relatively recent split from an amazing girl I was seeing (INDIE BEDWETTER NERRRR) and it looks like I'm gonna have to move back in with my mum for a couple of months when my lease is up which is gonna be really difficult having lived away from home for nearly 10 years. Feels like I'm constantly skint too.
I try not to focus on these things too much.
On the plus side I'm really happy with what I'm doing musically, probably the most focussed and most representative of who I am and what I like in music. I've got great friends and reconnected with a few I haven't really seen for a few years. I've been a vegetarian since January and have started doing yoga and I've never felt better, and would like to work on making the switch to being vegan. We'll see though.
i believe in you.
everything else has been fairly shit as well
2014 pt1 = 2010 pt2 > 2012 pt2 > 2013 > 2011 pt1 = 2010 pt1 >> 2011 pt2 >>> 2012 pt1
Well on course to be the best year since 2006. Have only used like 2 days of my annual leave so far as well (and we get 29 + bank hols), so some holidays in the pipeline. Everything's coming up Milhouse.
Saw Prince twice, nice New flat, been really enjoying doing reviews for DiS, slightly happier in Manchester but... Still in a job I feel kinda underused and underpaid in that's unrelated to my degree and skills. Keep applying for cool stuff only to find like one line after in my cover letter that'll probably hinder my chances! Need to learn to tactically proof read.
