Brazil v Chile (Saturday 5pm) and Holland v Mexico (Sunday 5pm) are the first second round games to be confirmed. Can Mexico go out in the second round for the sixth World Cup in a row? Even Fred scored last night, after the officials took pity on him and let his offside goal stand.

Today:

5pm - Group D
England play for the proverbial pride against Costa Rica, who just need a point to top the group of death, which would be an amazing achievement (they may still finish top even if they lose). And Italy take on Uruguay with one of them going out. Italy only need a draw, but I have the feeling that Uruguay are going to win this. Either way, expect tons of timewasting from whoever is going through for the last half hour or so.

9pm - Group C
Colombia aim to wrap up top spot against Japan, while Greece try to venture into the opposition half once or twice against Ivory Coast. Anyone can still qualify with Colombia, but I'll be amazed if it isn't Ivory Coast going through with them.
